Took my almost 39 weeks pregnant wife for Indian food hoping to induce labor. Failed but had some really really good food. Our server gave us the 5 star treatment. We got both regular and garlic naan which were on point. I wanted to eat them all but pregnant one took 3/4 cause you know she wins. I could eat the chicken marsala daily. Tandoori Bite, located in west Roseville, serves both Indian and Pakistani cuisine. Considering the many years of frosty political relations between these two Asian states, I find it interesting to the find the two similar cuisines co-located in the same restaurant. Too bad "real world" politics coldn't take the "bite" from Tandoori Bite!Politics aside, my actual visit to this fine restaurant was back in December, 2016, and I'm just getting around to "Yelping" it now. The restaurant is alive and well, so this review is relevant...The lunch buffet is quite modest, as it includes only nine entrees and sides, one tray of fruit, one tray of salad, and a tray containing three sauces. The weekday buffet may be modest, but so it the price - $9.99 - and the quality of the food is outstanding, and you can go back for as many helpings as your stomach can hold.If you're not familiar with Indian cuisine, Tandoori Bite makes it easy, as each dish is labeled. If you're concerned about spiciness or want to know anything about the food, just ask friendly server, Jo, and she'll be glad to answer any of your questions. Here's the buffet line-up: Indian Rice. Note there are many colors, which makes it look almost like cheese, but it's all rice. The peas seem to be hidden under the rice. Daal Makhani. Black lentils in curry. Mmmmm. Mixed Vegetables. That's what the label said. The dish seemed to be potatoes, mixed with chickpeas, peas, and curry. It was on the spicy side, but was amazing! I went back for seconds on this fantastic dish.Tandoori Chicken. This is the star of the show. Chicken, marinated in yogurt and Indian spices, and cooked in a very hot oven. The chicken ties with lamb curry for being my favorite dish.Lamb Curry. I have never met a lamb curry that I didn't love! This had a little "curry kick" to it, but it was neither hot nor over spiced. It was just plain delicious. This fine dish required a second helping.Chicken Curry. As with the lamb curry, this dish had just the right amount of curry, and the curry didn't overpower the mild flavor of the chicken.Fish Pakora. Fish cubes dipped in spiced batter and deep fried. I would have loved to enjoy a second helping, but my stomach wouldn't allow it.Vegetable Pakora. Here's a vegetarian dish that I could eat every day and not get tired of. It's a variety of vegetable fritters dipped chickpea batter and deep fried. At first I though these we samosas, but I asked Jo and she told me they were vegetable pakora. Took my extended family for family dinner. It was a first time for 8 of the 9 having Indian. The hostess and waitress was so helpful. Food was spectacular. Take away order. 6 items. All vegetarian. January 2019. Rice dishes in styrofoam meal clamshells, the gloppy items in plastic pint snap top tubs. Samosas in a paper bag. Portion sizes more than adequate to feed us 4 adults. Plenty of leftovers for another full meal. Ordered the creamy / saucy items at mild spicy level. The chili kick was still present but not overpowering. My sister thought the chickpeas were a bit too hot. Spice variety was distinct with each dish, different flavors. I'm a sucker for samosa, love them. These were pretty good, crackling crisp exterior with chunky yet creamy & spicy potatoes inside. Nice mouth feel. When picking up the food asked for another mint and tamarind sauce. These are in ridiculously tiny plastic cups. Like 1/2 teaspoon. Cashier looked in horror like I was asking for the moon. She did not give me any more. Liked the food but honestly it is way overpriced. Lentils for $10, chickpeas for $10, mixed vegetables for $11. Was visiting Roseville with the BF and his parents and I was craving Indian food. Came here based on the other yelp reviews. Wanted to introduce his parents to Indian food. I was a little nervous because his parents are little on the "safe" side when it comes to food and aren't really gun-ho on trying different types of food. I ordered beef somosas, aloo tika, butter chicken, tandoori chicken, Garlic naan, rice and mango lassi. Turns out my BF's father loved the butter chicken, somosas and the aloo tika. Absolutely love this place! The lunch buffet selection is great, there is a lot to chose from. My favorite dish by far (not on the menu) is carrot hullvah. This is, hands down, my favorite Indian Restaurant in Roseville. I have very high standards when it comes to Indian food, and Tandoori Bite never disappoints. I have not been there for the buffet, so this review is strictly for the take out options that I have had several times.I LOVE the fisk pakoras here, they are AMAZING. We will eat here again. The prices and food are great. Wednesday night is a $12.99 buffet. My wife and I did that. It comes with naan (plain or garlic or both) also. The food was pretty good--butter chicken, lamb curry, chutney, house rice, some kind of fish (delicious), and some other stuff I don't remember the name of or how to spell lol The server was very polite, attentive, and respectful. She was doing nearly everything except the cooking, but it also wasn't very busy. The only thing I wish would have been different is the music videos playing and how loud it was. Wow!!! These people know how to cook! It very rare I can go to a restaurant and have them cook food to my level of spicy. Samosa chaat was phenomenal ! I'd been eyeing this spot for a while before finally deciding to try it out. In-laws we're in from the Bay Area, and often they take us to a local spot in the East Bay for a really solid Indian buffet, and I hoped to return the favor. As we entered we were greeted by a very nice gentleman who sat us immediately, took some drink orders and then told us we were free to check out the buffet before deciding if we wanted that option or the menu. We took a quick look and we're impressed by the number of options. We all decided to go the lunch buffet route. Personally, I don't eat at buffets much; but when I do, it's like a personal eating challenge. First off, they have a carafe with some of the best spiced chai tea I've ever had. Not the sweet latte stuff you get from a coffee shop, but really good tea. The gentleman asked if we wanted plain or garlic naan, and when we asked if we could try both he whisked away and returned quickly with steaming fresh naan that was absolute delicious - a big win in my book. The buffet had a number of meat and vegetarian options, and I think I tried a bit of everything, cleaning my plate after each visit. Also, instead of having to load a whole large plate, they have small bowls and plates so you can try small portions. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish pakora, butter chicken, chicken tandoori, chili chicken, lentils and other veggie dishes they had out that day. There is more I'm not remembering but it was all great. They also have a good salad bar and wonderful yogurt and mint dipping sauces. The icing on the cake was the modern Indian hip hop videos they play on the TV. The first time my girlfriend and I came here was one of the best customer service we received. The young girl who helped was very professional and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious just the way we liked it! Now the second time when we came here hoping we would get the same type of service and experience and guess what? we actually did! Consistency of food is very important for a restaurant, particularly for a new restaurant. We have been going there every week since our first time and our experience has been a great one. The management and staff are very nice and friendly. They have the best Paya and Nihari of all the restaurants I have tried in the area. The chicken Haleem is great and the vegetarian entrees are tasty. They make the mithai (indian/Pakistani) sweets in-house and those are the best in the area as well. Picked up take out tonight hoping for the best. Found out today that my favorite place closed so I had to try something new. I called in my order and it was ready when I arrived. The place is definitely "no frills" but the gentleman I spoke to was very friendly. The food was delicious. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant with a craving, but it was everything I was looking for. Absolutely love this place. I go there so often then know me by name when I come in and call in a pick up order. Nobody beats their flavors. .. The location is in a pretty slow shopping center. The restaurant has a pretty big open lay out and it seems like they turn it into a banquet hall too which is cool and convenient. They have a buffet which we didn't try we ended up ordering off the menu most of the food was really good. Typically when we request spicy food, we get mild food but this place knows what you mean by spicy which we loved. We ordered bhel for an appetizer and butter chicken biryani, chili chicken, chicken tikka masala, and a mix of lamb and chicken kebabs for entrees between the 5 of us. Everything was pretty tasty.
