The Care and service administered to my dogs at Tackett's Mill Veterinary Hospital is like no other. From the moment you come in they treat you like family and provide the most comprehensive service I have ever received. My dogs are healthier and vey well cared for from the staff and the doctor. Dr. Adsit even called to follow up and ensure everything was okay and gave very detailed and understandable instructions to ensure the proper healing of my dog's injury.I highly recommend this Vet office for any of your pets well being and care. My family chose this practice for our pet needs several years ago when we adopted two kittens. Each visit has gone well with the vets we have seen, exams were thorough, and we feel that the health of our pets is truly a priority. Very friendly staff. Though a bit pricey and did not expect a second office visit charge to come in for required booster on a vaccination a few weeks earlier (yes, I expected to pay for booster, not a second physical exam after only three weeks). Few Vet Hospitals equal the professional care and competence; NONE exceed. Dr. Prime, Dr Adsit, Kelly Moore, all Vet Techs, Admin, Groomer, Contractors, day care and boarding staff treat each customer as family which we are. Tackett's Mill Veterinary Hospital is the greatest and have been taken care of our pets since we moved to Woodbridge in 2005. They care about your pet as much as you do and try to make you feel better and comfortable as much as your pet while you're there. We trust the veterinarians and their staff with our pets to make sure they only receive the medical treatment they need. If you're looking for a great Veterinarian .. Dr. Prime and her staff are fantastic! She has correctly diagnosed tricky problems -- one that even a major critical care hospital in the area missed -- and she always does the right thing. She seems to know just what, and how much, is the key ... never overdoing or underdoing. She and her staff are also up on the very latest studies and resources. Dr. Prime and her staff are great. They are compassionate and truly care about pets and their humans! :-) We've been taking our pets to Tacketts Mill Veterinary Hospital for about 10 years. We recently went through a heart breaking decision with our surviving 13 year old black lab--extra heart breaking since we had to make the same decision just 3 weeks earlier for his brother at an emergency vet clinic. I wanted my daughter to be able to say good-bye to Cocoa, and she was at school. Dr. Prime, seeing how upset I was, kindly offered to have one of her staff drive me to my daughter's school to pick her up. That act of kindness meant a lot to me and my daughter and is just what I needed on that day. I have been going to Tacketts Mill Vet for over 15 years. I moved and tried another vet which is around the corner from my house. We had a horrible experience where the doctor hit my pitbull/lab mix who was dying and in a lot of pain. That doctor is no longer with them. The place to go if you really love your Pet and want to get the best help for your fur baby. The Doctor knows exactly what she is doing, no guessing about that and her Staff members were so caring, loving and gentle to my Booboo also to me when I was crying my eyes out. I can't say enough about the staff and customer service at Tackett's Mill. We brought our 6 mo old puppy here for his neuter procedure because it was 1/4 of the cost of getting it done in DC/Arlington. They do a full evaluation before surgery, and spend a ton of time making you feel comfortable. Not only that, the front staff are exceptional at answering questions, and asking the vet directly so you don't have to take a trip to the office when not necessary. Example being- our pup scratched his stitches which cased them to bleed. I called to see if I should bring him in however it was a day where all vet's in the state were in mandatory training. That said- the front office not only called the vet but texted her pictures to evaluate while she was out of the office. Talk about customer service and making me feel so much better! More...

I have been bringing my fur babies to Dr. Prime and her Tackett's Mill Vet staff for ten years.  I started coming here with my retired military K9 dog when I first moved to this area.  Over time I got three other dogs and they have all come here as well.  The vet staff is always very kind and helpful.  I have never had any problems with parking and their hours work great for me.  The staff care very much for their patients and treat them just like part of the family which is exactly what my kids are, my family. We had our first visit today. Luckily it wasn't for something serious. I called this morning and they were able to see me this afternoon! The staff made me feel very comfortable with my decision to make them our new vet. Dr. Prime was very caring and affectionate with my active 9 month old Boston! I took my baby here today. Kelly was the first person I came into contact with via email. And then we spoke on the phone. Kelly was very helpful and understanding .  My Yorkie was having some oral discomfort. But I am grateful to have found Tackett's. Nice people all the way around. I think I've found my Vet.
