The Susie Hansen Latin Band plays a wide variety of party and dance music. Our specialty is Latin dance music of all types -- salsa, cumbia, merengue, cha cha cha, bolero, bachata and more. We can play a little Tex-Mex, some rock en Español, and the electric slide in Spanish. If you like, we will also play some pop and oldies -- R&B, funk, disco, Motown, classic rock, swing, jazz standards and big band. But our specialty is always great Latin dance music.

Our band has been together for 30 years, and we play around 100 to 125 events each and every year. We dress well and always have fun, and so will your guests. We are professional, reliable, on time and courteous.

Let me tell you about our musicians. We have three lead singers in our band. Our main lead singer in Spanish is from Venezuela and plays congas. Susie plays the electric violin, sing lead in Spanish and English, and is the musical director. Our electric guitarist sings lead in English -- R&B, funk and Frank Sinatra. In our six-piece band, we also have piano/keyboard, bass, and drums/vocals. In our larger bands, we add a horn section of tenor sax/flute and trombone, more percussion and another female vocalist.

For a smaller party, you might want to consider our trio. We have our lead singer who also plays congas, myself on violin and bi-lingual vocals, and our pianist who plays left-hand bass, too, and also sings. We will play all Latin music with the trio.

Or consider our quartet by adding our drummer/timbalero to our trio.

• Phil Elwood of the San Francisco Examiner described my band this way: "It’s a sizzling, swinging Latin band. Hansen can solo as if her bow was afire. The whole room was jumpin’ for joy."
• Brian McGackin wrote in the Glendale News-Press: “I am usually hesitant to rave so dramatically about the quality of a band, but I just cannot seem to help myself. Hansen's music is simply too much fun.”

Our cocktail music is lively and fun, a perfect background to conversation. Our dinner music is beautiful and never too loud. Our dance music will keep the dance floor crowded – we aim for the feet! Our dance band is a crowd pleaser with its rhythmic energy and drive. The music we play appeals to a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds, and to all ages.

We have a terrific band-and-DJ package. Our DJ does a great job mixing, and really understands how to keep the dance floor full. He has just about every song you might ever want. Our DJ typically plays during the band’s breaks, and until the wee hours of the morning.

We have released three albums, and one song we recorded, "La Salsa Nunca Se Acaba," has been popular with dancers and DJs alike across the country and around the world.
