Working with Steven Vance was wonderful - he was responsive, easy to work with and most importantly, did an amazing job at the wedding! We did the package, which involved live music during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and then DJ-ing during the reception. While guests were eating, Steven was playing violin, so guests could talk and enjoy the music. Choosing a DJ for our wedding felt like an impossible task initially. All of the vendors seemed very similar... until we saw the fantastic Steven Vance at a wedding and then it turned out to be the one of the easiest parts of planning our wedding. Steven Vance is a consummate professional. He was a breeze to work with in every phase of planning and executing the wedding. He has extensive experience and provides a very unique experience with his addition of violin to his DJ services - it was one of the main things that all of our guests were talking about the day after our reception. The performances of Steven Vance provided natural transitions for our reception: elegant violin music for the cocktail hour, jazz violin with backing track for the dinner hour, and top notch DJ'ing for the dancing. Steve's repertoire of songs is immense - there wasn't a song that we wanted that he didn't already know or wasn't willing to learn. Steve did excellent work with the additional special moments during our reception. He was able to slow down a song for our special surprise dance (since I couldn't move fast enough in my dress) and was able to fit our selected songs into the time frame of our slideshow (cleverly stretching out one song). No matter what your vision is, Steve will work tirelessly to find a solution and make it happen. He stuck to our "do not play" list perfectly, even with some pretty convincing arguments from our guests not to, and made our eclectic "must plays" work no matter how different they were - we're talking "Wild Wild West" to "Electric Feel" to "Welcome to Atlanta". How would you describe your ‘style’?
Professional and polished but enthusiastic. We don't roll around on the dance floor during "Shout" or jump on the table to lead "The Macarena" but keep the focus on you and your guests.
What do you love most about your job?
Creating fantastic memories for you and your guests and hearing it was the "best ever".
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working with other outfits in town I felt i could offer a unique set of services in an honest, transparent and personalized way. Based on our having done 10.000 events in the past 20 years it seems like we have succeeded.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I take every event personally. My name is the one that you will remember so this is serious for me. This is the best job I have ever had and want to keep it that way. Having won the "Best Of Weddings" from The Knot 8 times and the "Couples Choice" award from Wedding Wire 7 times my couples and clients seem to agree.
