Jake was awesome. Music selection and command of production makes all the difference at a wedding. Jake played all of our obscure and personally selected music effortlessly while managing a seamless production with the mic and transitions between toast. There is a reason we have five senses. I was a guest at a destination wedding in the Jackson Hole area last weekend and Jake crushed it, he got there early and listened to the bride and groom's hand written vows and was able to incorporate some of what they mentioned into his acting as master of ceremonies. He played a cocktail hour, dinner and dancing and played the perfect songs for each. He announced toasts as well as the father-daughter dance and the mother-son dance. Immediately after the mother-son dance he invited everyone out on to the dance floor to start dancing and EVERYBODY in the whole place got up to dance. It was incredible! The transitions between songs were smooth and he played a great mix of 40's/50's for the parents, songs from when the bride and groom were in high school/college and modern (Lizzo). DJ SteadyJake was the best! We hired him for our wedding after a recommendation from a friend. He did the music and audio for our outdoor ceremony and was great with coordinating audio with our videographer. He was on time and thought of everything, so there were no issues with set-up. For the reception, he let me use some market-lights of his, very generous! Jake was a great help in moving the night along according to plan, announcing toasts and dances. DJ Jake was one of the true highlights of our wedding. Faced with a small wedding of 25 out of towners, ages 2-80, Jake kept everyone dancing through the evening with a perfect mix of songs. Beyond his well thought out music choices, we enjoyed his well-timed and thoughtful comments when transitioning between songs and speeches. I had a destination wedding, and was so grateful to Jake Nichols with SteadyJake DJ for making it all so easy planning from afar! Jake was awesome to work with, and able to communicate via email to accommodate our time zone difference and my busy work schedule. About a week before the wedding we worked out my 'must have' songs, and also my 'don't play these' songs. The day of, he brought all the sound and lighting equipment appropriate for my outdoor ceremony and white tent reception. It went FLAWLESSLY! SteadyJake was a great addition to our wedding vendors! He worked very well with our planner and the venue to help create a wonderful wedding. He was very accommodating with our music selections and even found some specific instrumental music based on our request without any pushback.
