Choosing the right photographer was as important to myself as finding my dream dress. I have been following the Starks for years and fell in love with their work and I knew then that if I ever got married they were the only choice for me. I was drawn to their creativity, uniqueness, talent and experience. Since I am in California and that are in Portland I worked with different photographers for my engagement shoot, and I must say after working with the Stark's what a difference! And I'm not just speaking in terms of the quality of the photograph or editing style and I'm also speaking in terms of the quality of the photographer. Daniel wasn't shy about laying in a dirt road, or climbing fences just to get a shot he envisioned. It was an experience simply watching him see something that I certainly didn't see. I have been in awe looking at my wedding pictures, and pretty mesmerized by the shots he got. To say I'm so in love with our photographs is an understatement. I can't thank them enough for capturing the love and beauty of our special day and because of that we are able to relive those moments frame by frame. Rebecca is WONDERFUL. We live out of town but got married in Carmel-by-the-sea. I corresponded with Rebecca via email and over the phone and she made the process of booking with her very easy. She answered every question in a timely manner which was greatly appreciated for a nervous bride. She did an amazing job with our photos and they turned out stunning. Rebecca was AMAZING! Do not go anywhere else, she is your photographer.  She shot my proposal to my (now fiance) in Capitola.  I am from out of town and found her here on Yelp. She helped me with suggestions where specifically to propose, and went above and beyond to accommodate on my "big day".  She even helped me locate some props I needed.  This was all very last minute on my part also.  Her communicate was very clear and prompt (as I waited until the day before my proposal to plan it lol).  Now for the photos.  WOW!!!  She took so many, and we expected to have 4-5 good ones that we wanted to print, but literally, there were over 50 winners we wanted to keep.  Rebecca is such a kind person, with an amazing skill to shoot photography, and knows the area, scenery, lighting, etc.  You can tell she really likes what she does and cares about her clients needs.  If there were 10 stars on here I would give her 10! The Starks did my husband's cousin's wedding and as soon as I saw their photos I knew that they would be shooting my wedding, even though we weren't even engaged at that point! We contacted them as soon as we had a date set and thankfully they were available. They were great about working with us to get an engagement shoot in (they're in Portland, husband and I are in the Bay Area, CA) and I couldn't have been happier with how those pictures and our wedding photos turned out. I love how they frame their photos differently than most other artists. I looked at about 10-15 sets of wedding photos taken by different photographers at our venue and they all started to look the same/generic. We were so happy with our choice of selecting Rebecca to shoot our wedding. This being second marriages for both of us, we wanted to keep it simple. Rebecca was the only photographer in the area who was willing to work only three hours on a Saturday evening, versus the typical 5-8 hour packages everyone else required. Rebecca and her assistant took us to the Surfrider Museum before the ceremony to get some shots of the two of us. I thought we'd just go and get a few and be done, but they were willing to go to multiple areas to get a range of backgrounds. I loved her creative eye taking us to a field of dried grass and trees - the photos there turned out great!She was even willing to edit and send me a handful of photos just a few days after the wedding so I could include them in a slideshow we were showing at a hometown reception the next weekend. Rebecca took our photos on 10-10-15 for our wedding. She and her assistant were very professional, and she even brought in a third photographer at no extra charge so that she could get all the shots in she wanted in addition to those I had wanted. She even took us to the beach after our reception to get some photos of us on the beach and in front of a colorful hotel in downtown Capitola. Rebecca is a very talented photographer, and I am excited to see the photos she took!! I highly recommend her for any bride looking for a photographer for their wedding! Molly is amazing! I needed some head shots for my modeling portfolio and I found molly who had an amazing availability. She was really knowledgeable about what looked good and what lighting looked good where. And on top of that, the shots she took of me turned out amazing. We had a great experience with Rebecca Stark as our wedding photographer. She did a fantastic job capturing our wedding, from the big moments to the small. I wanted to wait until the photos came out before posting a review on Stark photography. Working with them for our engagement & wedding was an amazing experience in itself but of course we are paying them for the pictures. I am glad that I waited to write this review because I feel totally justified to rave on about how amazing they are.  My husband & I chose our photographers first when we got engaged because we both agreed that in the end that's all you have left. We were told that you wont remember your wedding day because of all the craziness that goes on so we wanted to hire a photographer that could capture the moments that we would miss. We didn't want to hire a videographer because we couldn't see ourselves watching our wedding over and over again (maybe few times and then it would just sit there). We looked at MANY photographers in Portland area & met up with few of them. We loved stark photographer when we first saw their work on their webpage because they made something so simple into an art. It was vibrant with simplicity yet capturing the complexity of human emotions. I loved going through the photos they took, because I honestly don't remember my own wedding and from the photos, it looked like everyone had a blast.You will get your normal family photos & wedding photos that looks amazing (like off the magazine amazing) but addition to that they will capture emotions of your guests on that day which is pretty awesome to look through.BTW you get both Lindsay & Daniel for engagement & wedding session so you are technically getting two professional photographers for the price of one & they work amazingly well together (I guess it helps that they are married).  Our wedding party had a blast with them not only during the picture taking time but dancing as well (don't worry, while Daniel dances, Lindsey is working hard capturing those moments  ). I found Rebecca on Yelp and checked out her website and was completely blown away be her beautiful photographs. I contacted Rebecca about 2 months before I planned my small wedding (about 9 people. )From the beginning, she was super communicative and easy to work with. She was super helpful about helping me find a ceremony site as I am from out of the area.  We ended up at Bamboo Giant Nursery and I couldn't have asked for more!Rebecca and her crew were such a pleasure on the day of.  She is obviously very experienced and  it shows. She is great at setting up photos and directing guests. In the planning stages, she suggested we go down to a nearby beach and take some more photos and I'm so glad we did.  I just received the photos back today and I am super happy!!! What can I say about Rebecca Stark?SHE IS AMAZING!!!I was blessed enough to meet Rebecca at a Wedding Showcase in Santa Cruz some years ago. Our connection was instant. And I am fortunate enough to call her my friend. If you look at her pictures you will see that her skill is undeniable. She has an eye for art. She sees beauty in rare places. She captures color and light in a way I have never seen before. And she has the coolest sense of humor! 2 years ago, I asked Rebecca to take some shots of me. I went to her studio and found myself extremely shy - as I often am - in front of the camera! All I could see was this huge camera lens in my face, and the only thing I remembered to do was smile. But then Rebecca started talking to me, posing me, walking around with me. When I got back the proofs I was in shock! Those were honestly the best photos anyone has ever taken of me. Fast forward to this year. I'm getting married and want to do something out-of-the-box as a gift for my Groom. Boudoir sounds like the answer! But it doesn't feel like me to be "sexy" and "seductive". Let alone, I'm not comfortable showing so much skin on camera. I tried to "lose weight" or buy lingerie, anything!!! But now its crunch time, and I can't wait a second longer if I am going to get it done in time. I call the best photographer I know to do this job, and she tells me, "Girl, you're gorgeous. Let's just do this thing!" I arrive at her studio, and she has a drink waiting for me. Thank goodness! I sure needed it. She walked me through the process. Gave me the appropriate amount of compliments to make me feel like I wasn't such an elephant. And then started shooting. I love how she gets down on the floor with you, or shows you EXACTLY what she wants you to do. She's not afraid to muss up my hair, or grab a piece of fabric and drape it over me for the "perfect shot." She is tremendously talented! I tell her I need everything ready, proofs selected, book designed, and everything in record time... she doesn't even blink an eye. But assures me it will all be great. I'm pretty sure we ran over our studio time, but she had so much fun that it made me actually let loose and have fun myself. My husband loved his gift. It was tasteful and just the perfect touch of sexy. Rebecca is the obvious choice for Boudoir. She is the only person I would trust for this kind of project, and I appreciate her discreetness through the process. It was a wildly fun experience, and that is hugely attributed to Rebecca Stark. We did a family photo session with Molly recently and highly recommend her, both for her photography skills as well as her people skills. She was great with our two young children (makes sense since she has extensive experience working with kids) and that made the shots she was able to get that much more natural and genuine. When you look for and hire a wedding photographer one should look at their photos, analyze their prices and scour their blog looking for any indication that you love their artistic view. You meet them, you like them, you sign the contract and all is good. What you don't realize is that on the day of your wedding you spend more time with your wedding photographer(s) than with any other person, including your partner. So this person being someone you enjoy being around is very important. Luckily Daniel and Lindsay are an amazing duo who play off of each other and see things in ways and calculate light like nothing I've ever seen. They have a nice sense of calm that makes your day feel like its going smoothly. Lindsay made an executive decision for us in a moment of confusion that helped SO much. While not the wedding planner she certainly has been to a few weddings and knows how things go. Their amazing sense of humor helps ease the awkward that can ensue with mixing families, friends who maybe have had too much to drink and those ever so gag worthy forced romantic shots that too many photographers butcher. They encourage romance, they love what they do, and they are damn good at it. We would use them a hundreds times over given the chance. More...
