Hey Square Peg Pizzeria, 1001 Hebron St Glastonbury CT. (860-286-0415), people are saying that during this last holiday season you misled someone into thinking they were working paid shifts, and after they labored for you a few days and asked about payment you told them they weren't getting paid cause those shifts were training? Is this true? Is this a regular practice? I'm aware that some Restaurants withhold tips during the first week...but unless you explicitly have a job-training program internship I'm pretty sure what you did wasn't just morally reprehensible...but grossly illegal and perhaps something the Labor Department and all your potential customers need to be aware of. I was very disappointed to pick up my large margarita pizza and pasta a la vodka and was told my total was $47....in what world is that acceptable? The pizza was very thin and did not fit the whole box and was $22!!!!! Frank Pepe’s is the most famous pizza place in the state and one of the most popular pizza places in the entire country and they only charge $19.25 for a large pizza...there is no acceptable reason that without sitting down having a drink and having to tip that I should pay $50 for pizza and pasta...DURING A PANDEMIC!! While the owner drives his G Wagon around with no financial burdens - it’s a slap in the face when trying to support local business. I will never be returning to Square Peg More...

The head Pizzaholic and I ventured out of our radius this weekend to Square Peg Pizzeria Glastonbury. As most of you know, we don’t mind a car ride for good pizza and Square Peg definitely didn’t disappoint. We chose the Clam Pie, and a half Eggplant Parmigiana/half plain cheese. I don’t know how they managed to do this, but they pulled off the perfect char to melt in your mouth crust for the perfect storm of pizza dough. Sorry dogs...you are NOT getting these pizza bones. The toppings were amazingly fresh: clams are hand shucked on premise (I mean...look at them!!), eggplant tasting like it came freshly picked from a garden out back and the cheese. OMG delicious. You could taste the passion for pizza and quality ingredients that Square Peg puts in each hand tossed pie. We really enjoyed this meal and so did our 7 year old. But what really put us over the edge were the meatballs. Can I just tell you that I am the toughest meatball critic My kids LOVE meatballs and even the Pizzaholic himself cannot impress me with his. I’ve only found one place that has impressed me and you probably already know who they are because I rave about them. But Square Peg...let me tell you I still crave your meatballs from the other night. Absolutely delicious and unlike any other meatball I have tried. They are pork meatballs. But they have the perfect blend of meat and seasoning ratio that will leave you with a party in your mouth. I wish we took a picture of them because all I can say is WOW and wipe drool from my face. The Residential cocktail I had was delicious (I had to have another). Service was impeccable, atmosphere was fun and inviting. They have the coolest wood fire pizza oven roaring in the heart of the restaurant for all to see. And...you know I’m a stickler for bathrooms...there’s was immaculate. Square Peg Pizzeria in Glastonbury, wood fired oven pies. My wife Patty Mulligan McDowell and I decided to give this place a try on a recommendation from my cousin Rosemarie DeRobertis. We had a great dining experience on an unseasonably warm Nov. day out on the patio with an open fire burning! You can order the pies either Sicilian or Naples style. We ordered a Sicilian cheese pie, and of the Neopolitan variety, Margherita, Chicken Cacciatore and Bacon, Potato and Brussel. In my opinion the Sicilian cheese pie was the star here. Surprising light and airy, nice crunch and cook on the bottom, quality tomato sauce and blend of mozzarella/Romano cheeses. A solid 9, and must try for the Sicilian pie category! The Margherita had a tough act to follow as I give it an 8.1 for the Neopolitan category. Same tasty tomato product, creamy fresh mozz, nice crunch on the crust and cook on the bottom. A lot of flop when picking up a slice. The dough tasted fine, but the pie came off as above average, not "wow". The Potato Brussel was a little dry and somewhat lacking in flavor, fingerling potatoes could have benefitted from a toss in virgin oil or bacon fat, seasoning and saute before putting them on. The Chicken Cacciatore and Bacon was our server's recommendation. This pie with moist braised chicken and crisp lardons was screaming with flavor! Worth a visit! More...

Ordered tonight through Grub Hub. The menu was limited which was a bit disappointing. I ended up getting the Bianco on gluten free crust. The crust was so good I had to try my husband's regular crust to make sure it really was gf. (I'm still not 100% convinced) My hubby got the Hebron ave and while the combination of ingredients were good his crust was completely burnt on the bottom making it really hard to enjoy. I had never been here before but drove by and saw the gorgeous and inviting fire out front. In these crazy times with the virus take out meals are an exciting “date night” so the thought of adding a romantic fire to our parking lot meal had huge appeal. I called ahead to make sure the fire would be going and my boyfriend and I planned a “trunk picnic”. We ate the most delicious food while watching the fire all while sitting in the back of my SUV. A month ago this would have looked and felt nuts but in this time it was had a huge impact to the romance of date night. The staff was super helpful, the pizza was amazing and the ambiance was killer! Thank you so much for giving a socially distanced date night a chance for romance in this craziness. On a side note I highly recommend the Bianco pizza- the maple adds a sweet flair which is amazing!! Five stars and we will be back for sure!!! More...

food was great..there was an issue in the kitchen so the manager came over ..apologized..and unknowingly gave our table of 7 a discount due to the error we will definitely return Only thing we'd say is we like to share when our group goes out and the portions were small but that's not a big deal ..just order more pie!
