Before getting in touch with Tomer and Southwest Construction I had gotten a couple of other estimates for the garage upgrade that I had in mind. Tomer's estimate was in line with the lowest of the others and his confidence, manner of explaining, and track record were such that he seemed like the right man for my job. We booked for a time that was convenient for me, and he did a great job keeping to the time line. His workers were all pleasant and competent and did a good job. Tomer was at the site frequently and saw to it that everything was being done with the proper equipment and specifications. His personal touch made the project go smoothly and made us feel confident and at ease. The project was finished in a reasonable time and the results were fantastic. We have an old fence around our property that has been getting continually weaker.  Strong winds exacerbated the problem last week and the fence abutting the sidewalk was now at angle over the sidewalk.  We are planning on a big remodel of our property soon and didn't want to redo the entire fence.  Tomer took a look and figured out a great solution to stabilize the fence and even got it done before the morning was over! I was prepared to redo the fence if necessary but he figured out the best solution based on the situation even though it was a much smaller job for him.  He is honest, professional, and caring.  I would highly recommend him for any job! Tomer Grimberg and his company Southwest Construction is an excellent construction firm. 7 years ago we needed a substantial remodel of our home.  Including replacing all windows and doors, sandblasting existing stucco and recoating with a smooth coat, cosmetic facelift of the exterior, replacing the driveway, and constructing a new fence. We first learned of Southwest Construction on Angie's list where they had incredible reviews. We also solicited about four other bids at the time.   Southwest construction was much less expensive and offered more services (such as design) and handholding than any of the other firms would even consider.The work was completed professionally by his well trained, cordial and tidy crew.  We were ecstatic at the result, our home's remodel turned out amazing, beyond our expectations.But that's not where the relationship with Tomer ends...  since then Tomer has still kept in touch with us, which is unique because often you will never hear from a construction firm again (or want to hear from them again!)  Tomer has stood behind his work, even though he didn't have to.  6 years after the projected ended we discovered a leak that we wrongly thought may have been related to the work performed.  Tomer promptly came out and helped troubleshoot the problem (it turned out deck related, nothing to do with his work) and then recommended a waterproofing company that did an excellent job and several thousand dollars less than any other bids we received.Hiring Southwest Construction is like having a friend in the construction industry. I am not writing this review to report about a job well done. Given their reputation that was expected so it should not be noted. What I am writing about is that this project was met with many unforeseen difficulties in changing out the tub to a shower, and Southwest Construction handled all of them with grace. The job did end up costing about 20% more but all the added costs were justified and fair. It is in times of hardships that the true professionalism of a company is shown, and this co. has proved themselves to be very professional.

This company remodeled my bathroom. The results and whole process went well, we are happy to have hired them. Tomer came in with great credentials and one can tell that he is experienced at what he does. The team of designers, subs and workers were all very cordial, polite and respected the property. They even ended up helping my neighbor on a small project without cost.

Tomer and team at Southwest Construction/Home Improvement are absolutely amazing! What a great find! So grateful to all the yelp reviewers for their compliments and recognition because it really swayed my decision to call. Once I connected with Tomer, I was immediately relieved that the reviews matched my own personal experience with him because often times that is not the case. I spent several hours over a course of a few days researching companies that would be able to remove a section of my kitchen cabinets and counter top properly and without damage. Removing would be just as important as reinstalling. The goal was to not have to get all new cabinets because of this one small section that needed to be removed for remediation. Many companies turned me down and told me "that's impossible to do" and "good luck finding anyone willing to take on that job" and "there is no way anyone will be able to put a cabinet back once removed."Really All of these companies are kitchen remodel and cabinet install companies so naturally you would think they would have the skills and, knowledge to handle this. I refused to believe that doing this was impossible. Not only did I find a company, I found professionals that take their craft very seriously and want to service a client in need. What was once thought to be impossible was possible. Tomer and team came to our home within a few days of my call and not only removed the cabinet and granite counter top but did it in less than 30 minutes!!! I could not believe how quickly and efficiently they worked. Nothing was damaged in the process. I was extremely concerned about possible damage to our kitchen backsplash but not a scratch!! It was as if they just sliced a piece of cake and served it! The entire cabinet and counter top is in tack and in awesome shape to be reinstalled after remediation! Such artistry!! I highly recommend contacting Southwest Construction for your home improvement needs. I have only done one other review for a company on yelp but I rely on the reviews from others to make a decision. It is very rare that a company exceeds my expectations and are a pleasure to work with. His team layed out protective film to protect our floors and walls and also came back to do a final clean and reveal. The first time we hired Southwest was after our roof started leaking in multiples areas. One of their staff came out for an assessment. He was really polite and knowledgeable . His quote came back a bit hire then another company we had out, but I really felt more comfortable with the rep from Southwest. I work at a sewer line inspection company and we have been on a number of job sites with Southwest construction.  They are very diligent about making sure they have accurate measurements and understanding of the space that they are going to be doing construction, which helps to make sure there are no unforeseen issues before they get started, - super important when it comes to construction!  Also, they are very personable and easy to talk to, very nice but they also get going with the work and don't spend forever chatting.  They're very punctual and that is a definite bonus when working on a construction site!Definitely recommend them! My neighbor was getting their house extended so i got to see their work first hand before i hired them. My job wasn't as large but tommy still treated us great. I had some painting done in our master bedroom and a new shower installed in our guest bathroom. All work was done quickly and very efficiently. We shopped around for a while to find the right company  to redo our wood floors and remodel our kitchen. We chose southwest After having Tommy come out for an estimate. He listened to all details we wanted and had some great input. The work went smoothly with tommy always staying in contact with us and updating us. They kept the job site clean, the work was done exceptionally well with great attention to detail. I had major work done in my home by Southwest. Right from the first meeting with Danny Buskila I was very impressed. He answered all my questions concerning the remodel. He explained about the company being licensed and bonded and showed me the reviews.My house was built in 1939, and still has many of the original features, including the plumbing, windows, and floors. My bathroom had a large crack in the floor, due to a leak underneath. The bathroom was totally gutted, new plumbing was installed not only there, but throughout the house. What a difference! The bathroom was reconfigured, new tile floors were put down, a new shower, bathtub, and vanity was installed. It was also important to me to keep the feel of the older home, but update it also. Danny understood my concern, and worked closely with me to keep the period features of the home as much as possible. In the kitchen the old tile counter tops were replaced with quartz, a new floor was installed and the walls and cabinets were repainted.The original wood floors were sanded and stained, and came out gorgeous! The rest of the interior was repainted also. Finally new insulation was added in the attic, air ducts were replaced, and new windows replaced the originals, without compromising the period features of the house. It's like a new home!All workman that arrived for each section of the remodel were hard working, and always cleaned up daily. Thank you Danny Buskila and Southwest for a job extremely well done! Josh responded promptly to my initial call to SW Construction and a meeting set up for an estimate. Josh immediately “recognized” our old (1942) small bathroom layout and even had photos of a nearly identical bathroom remodel! Josh’s photos with a glass enclosed shower and full bath showed us what was possible. We proceeded from there. He warned us about possible issues with water damage, thick concrete, and other plumbing issues that could be unearthed upon demolition and so it wasn’t a surprise when we incurred some additional costs.

Loved Josh’s introduction to local suppliers to choose tile, fixtures and the counter slab. He really made it easy with all the design choices we made.

Can’t say enough about how good Southwest Construction’s crew of plumbers, tile installers and electricians as well as his cabinet maker were. It took 6 weeks, a week longer due to the unexpected issues unearthed during demolition, a happy birth (congratulations Josh!), and a slight delay in tile delivery. Had the house been inhabited, I’m fairly certain we would have worked together to finish possibly a week earlier. Josh also did some work without charging us, which was, needless to say, thoughtful and greatly appreciated.

Should mention he worked with ease with 3 family owners (one from NYC), each having input. Having no remodel experience, we learned with Josh we could relax, proceed step by step rather than getting ahead of ourselves because the crew was responsive and we could see they cared about what we wanted and they took pride in their work. ***UPDATE***Disclaimer- my (1)star review had only to do with their lack of communication and NOTHING to do with their actual work-I have never had Southwest Construction do any work for me***.   This morning Mr. Tommy contacted me via YELP and kindly asked that I reconsider/remove my (1) star review on Southwest Construction  because the 3rd party that fields incoming calls did a thorough investigation and they were unable find when and if I called.  After an exchange of e-mails (including a screen shot of my call log proving I did call) and phone calls with Mr. Tommy. I have to  admit  Mr. Tommy is personable and he might even come out and do my bathroom addition. We try different company, we even like the price of one of the construction company but the contractor was awful. We look again online and the review don't lei Tommy is awesome guy, he know exactly what he is doing every day between 7-8pm he came to make sure that the job done right, twice a week he called to make sure we satisfied, the lady in customer service respond very fast. Southwest Construction replaced my concrete patio and driveway. They weren't the lowest bid but they were close. I liked the fact that I dealt directly with one of the owners of the company, Tomer Grimberg.
He planned and supervised the entire project. Everything was explained clearly and an estimated completion date was provided. The project took the time estimated exactly. I just had my concrete driveway and patio replaced.  Southwest Construction was not the lowest estimate bid for the job.  However, they were in the ballpark.  I met with one of the owners, Tomer Grimberg.  I was impressed with his honesty and knowledge.  He took the time to explain everything involved and offered suggestions.  So I went with Southwest.  The project is complete and I couldn't be happier.  Even though there was a foreman who supervised the project, Tomer showed up regularly to make sure the job was proceeding as scheduled and that I was happy with everything.  They even did a few extra things for me that were not in the contract at no extra charge.  Southwest is my contractor for any future jobs at my home.  You would be wise if you used Southwest.  Great Company, great people, great job. I used Southwest for a kitchen facelift -- not a full remodel, no walls moved. Just new quartz counter tops, subway tile back splash, a new farmhouse sink, and a new vent hood install (including creating a new vent to the outside of the house). Josh got back to me the same day I called and we set up a time for him to come by and do an estimate that week. When he came to the house, he was able to ballpark the cost for me on the spot (which ended up being almost exactly what the final cost was) and it was very competitive.

The best thing is that Josh knew the best suppliers to send me to for what I wanted. His kitchen and bath store sold me the farmhouse sink I wanted for a better price than I could get online, and the stone yard he recommended was about half the cost of the retail places I'd been to.

He was very easy to communicate with -- mostly by text, for me -- and the work was done on time. I'm thrilled with the quality of the work and the look of my new kitchen. I will definitely use Southwest for any future work on the house and recommend them to anyone in need of a contractor.

Southwest Construction is a top notch firm that recently completed a 3 month renovation of my Los Angeles home. We hail from Manhattan where I have gut renovated three apartments. At this point, I am fairly familiar with the process and knew that it would be a difficult to find a high quality firm to do a smaller renovation. We had recently purchased the home from a guy who flipped it and we needed to upgrade some of the work and add a bathroom. The entire interior of the house was painted and several rooms were wall papered. Lighting was replaced and sconces added as well as 2 bedrooms.

Tommy was my foreman and he could not have been nicer nor more conscientious. Always delivered as promised and kept his good sense of humor intact. At one point I was concerned that it would be impossible to install a chandelier over a metal industrial table that weighs literally a ton. He looked at the situation and said "I'm not going to consider that a problem until I'm sure it is one" - gotta love an attitude like that! And guess what- they managed to do it!

I found Southwest Construction on Angie's List on Saturday morning and my call was returned Saturday evening which was a really nice.  I called him back early Sunday morning and explained that I had two mini floods in my condo which was due to a leak caused be a contractor who was working in the unit above mine.  He agreed to come out  that afternoon and give me a free estimate.  He was punctual, responsible, and very professional.  He took very copious notes on everything that I was saying and took plenty of pictures of all of the wall damage.  I felt like he was really listening to me and that he wanted to do the very best job that he possibly could.  The estimate came out to $4,800, but I did end up using his company.  The only reason that I did not was because I felt that it was a reasonable and logical decision to give the contractor who caused the damage in the first place the chance to repair the damage.Even though I did not end up using Southwest Construction, I want you all to know that I would feel 100 percent confident and comfortable using him for a job that might come up in the future.  I really would.  I was definitely not disappointed and I promise that you won't be disappointed either. We just finished remodeling our kitchen. My wife and I couldn’t be happier with the design, workmanship and attention to detail. Southwest was a pleasure to work with as they took the time to walk us through all of the alternatives, and the pros and cons on each particular design. Both the designer project supervisor were attentive to every detail of the project. they always responded to our requests and handled every issue with a smile.
