I have been here a couple of times. The food is pretty good and I am surprised that they are not busier. The ahi tuna, empanadas, lomo saltado, aji de gallina, passion fruit cheesecake and flan are all items I have had and would recommend.

Great service, authentic food, thoughtful presentation and a nice ambiance top off a unique cuisine that provides a welcome variety to downtown Saratoga. The ceviches fresh and easy to share, and the entrees are hearty. Food is a little pricey but given the location, it could be much worse. Lots of tables for large groups, very good place if you have relatives in from out of town. More...

Fantastic service from start to finish, it just sucks that the Lomo Saltado dish Was both the most expensive and the worst tasting I've ever had.  I was pretty surprised they poured gravy all over it, I've never really seen that before, and I've been eating this dish for about 20 years. Maybe I'll try the ceviche if I come back.  The only reason I came in here was Because the Japanese place next door was closed for a private event. More...

I've been to this place twice and both times the food was great! Their ceviches are very well made- tingly but not overly sour, very fresh, and can be ordered mild/medium/spicy. The beef heart skewers are great- very nice spice coating. Empanadas- very nice flavor, but... why the sugar powder on top We also enjoyed entries. Btw, they have a very nice wine and cocktails list. Stopped by the quaint town saratoga on our way back from a morning of chestnut picking and decided to try this Peruvian spot for our friend's birthday meal. We came in around 1pm on a Saturday and the restaurant was mostly empty. They seated us immediately and brought out waters promptly. They have us ample time to look over the menu and came by to explain the menu and give recommendations. Some of my friends ordered drinks. I tried my friend's Maracuya, which was passionfruit juice and it was very refreshing.I ordered the paella kumir (green) and it came with seafood, chicken, and sausage. They were very generous with the seafood and meats so it didn't feel like I was just eating a bunch of rice. The rice was cooked nice and soft. The cilantro sauce was not too strong but had a delicate herbiness to it. I took half the dish home and do be warned that it starts to smell fishy the next day so don't keep it for too long! Still tasted great reheated though.Although $26 for the paella does seem kind of high, you do get a good amount of seafood and meats.Service was great and it was a relaxing and filling meal. More...

Went here for happy hour with a few of my girlfriends. Their selection of cocktails are great. I went with their Basil & Pepper drink. Not too sweet and had a kick! We also got several happy hour appetizers - 3 for $12. Our favorites were the beef hearts and the ceviche. We liked this place so much that we came back after dinner for some drinks and coffee. We came here without much knowledge about Peruvian food at all. The food was tasty. We had the vegetarian and vegan options, so I can't vouch for any of the meat and seafood items. They do have some organic options, such as a quinoa salad. It would be great to see them incorporate more local organic ingredients for other menu items, though. They have a full bar and beer on tap, as well with a number of Peruvian themed drinks. The service was excellent. A big thanks to Damian for treating us well; he communicated with the kitchen about special dietary needs in our dinner party, as well as helped us narrow down our dinner choices based upon those needs. In short, it's great to have knowledgeable and well-trained staff serving customers. Thanks again.  The menu prices are fair in my opinion. Our bill came out to just around $120 for four people with drinks. There's parking in the rear and the bathrooms are clean. We'll definitely come back again. More...

Most authentic Peruvian restaurant in the bay.  Fresh and savory food with indigenous spice in an upscale ambient. The taste reminded me of  the good old days back in Lima, but the deco and service is definitely very Saratoga, a great place for family get together.  It is certainly under rated on Yelp. Strongly recommend! More...

We visited this pretty exotic Peruvian restaurant last week to try out Peruvian food for the first time. It was a pleasant experience I must say. We were all vegetarians and there were limited veg options in the menu. We went for vegan ceviche, the all famous payayya and a fried quinoa dish. The vegan ceviche was missing a key ingredient and so we had to send it back to the kitchen but the servers were pretty open about it and instantly gave us the corrected replacements which was very light and refreshing. The vegetarian payayya was delicious, full of tofu and veggies and aptly seasoned. The fried Quinoa dish was also really good. We took a cocktail with the very popular Pisco which was nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant have a nice bar section and a big seating area for large parties. The ambience is good and service prompt. More...

We've been here couple of time and will surely come back soon to satisfy our appetite for Peruvian food! More...

We went here last Friday for dinner before an event at Mountain Winery and were very impressed. The place was fairly empty but we did have a 6:00 reservation so that my have been the reason. We were promptly seated by a very personable host/server. We looked over the menu and were pleased with the meat, chicken, seafood, and vegetarian options. Since we don't drink we ordered a Chica Morada, a Peruvian drink made from purple corn. It was really good and refreshing. My wife ordered the Paella. I can't remember the name but it was made with a green cilantro sauce. She described it as savory and fresh tasing with seafood, sausage, or chicken in every bite. I ordered the grilled salmon and scallops that came on puréed pumpkin with a fabulous tasting sauce. The scallops could have been cooked a little longer but tasted fresh and delicious. We highly recommend Sipan and can't wait to come back. More...

Sipan is a lovely restaurant in downtown Saratoga that serves Peruvian food! I came here last weekend for my brother's birthday dinner- he had made a reservation online via Yelp since him and his wife live near downtown Saratoga! Anyway, so out we came... it turns out the Classic Car Show was going on this same day, so the street was blocked off for a while. All good. Back to Sipan! I have never been to Peru but from what my brother and parents said this restaurant is quite authentic. For starters, we had the mixed cerviche. Yummy! I'm not big on raw fish but this was nice. I had the paella for my main course. It was delicious! I actually thought paella was more Spanish but I guess this is a spin on it? Or a Peruvian version of it.. not quite sure. Regardless, I had a very nice dining experience at Sipan. The service was good, beautiful ambience inside, A/C was blasted (it was a hot day!), so 4 stars in my book! Also, this restaurant is not as expensive as other restaurants in downtown Saratoga. I would definitely return! Their bar area also looks nice. More...

Cute Interior, showing Peruvian culture. Food is good. Lomo saltado was good but very little sauce, dry, and slightly sweeter, but not disgusting. Cerviche was delicious and spicy! Steam mussels were ok, loved the fried yuca that came with the mussels. The mussels also had pieces of chorizo. They do not have no plantain chips like other Peruvian restaurants. Service was a bit slow but I notice our server was serving half of the restaurant. There is parking in the back but very limited so finding street parking is another option. More...

This was my first time trying Peruvian food, and I greatly enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. My favorite dish was the Pescado A La Mocho (not pictured), which had an incredible creamy salsa (tomato? ) sauce. I ate many spoonfuls of just the sauce. The fish inside was perfectly seasoned and still a bit crispy despite being engulfed by the creamy salsa sauce, and I appreciated the diversity of other seafood on top. The texture of the octopus was amazing, just the right level of chewiness. Also, the mussels appetizer sauce was flavorful, much more delicious than the ones served at French restaurants with melted butter, and the mussels were fresh! Lastly, loved the fresh red and yellow roses on each table, as well as the interesting red cultural painting decor. More...
