Shirley attended our planned homebirth and made unforgettable pictures of little Oscar, his older brother and us. She was great to work with, very attentive to details and open to suggestions and requests, and turned around the photos at record speed after the birth. Definitely more than recommended!!

Shirley worked with me for both a maternity session and a newborn session with my son. I was concerned that I was not "prepared" for the photo shoots because I had never done one, but Shirley did a fantastic job putting me at ease and finding ways to naturally capture the wonder of motherhood. During the newborn session my son was a bit restless, but Shirley was extremely patient and took time to calm him and soothe him. From early on in my pregnancy I told my husband that I would never have professional family photos done, as they always seem so staged and fake to me. I’d rather just take pictures of candid moments ourselves …. Well then my little guy started growing up so fast, cutting teeth at barely 4 months old and I panicked and decided that I needed photos ASAP while he still had that baby look and I realized I barely had any of the three of us together. That’s when I found Shirley. She was recommended by my doula and looking at her website I could tell she was the perfect person to capture the kinds of images I was looking for. Working with her was great, she was very responsive to my inquiry and was able to schedule a session quickly. She’s continued to be communicative throughout the entire process. Our mini session was so much fun! She was able to make us feel at ease. I adore the photos that she took. She really captured some great moments and details without us looking too posed which is just what I was hoping for! Picking our favorite images was so tough because Shirley made sure our gallery was filled with a variety of unique shots and they were all beautifully done! I found Shirley while during a quick online search for maternity photographers in the greater Boston area. I instantly fell in love with her images. I sent her an inquiry and she was so quick to respond, which was fantastic. She answered all of my questions and provided her recommendations for locations that were close to my home. I ended up picking out World’s End for our location and boy was she a trooper. I didn’t realize the park closed at a certain time and after walking (about a 15
mins walk in 80 degree weather with all of her equipment) to the area we wanted to shoot we had less then an hour to take pictures. She hustled and took as many pictures as possible and was so super understanding. She listened to our requests and ideas. She even stayed a little later to take some
additional images even though the park was closing. We made it out of the park just in time and the images came out wonderfully. I even asked if it were possible to get one of my images to be able to display it at my baby shower and though she didn’t make any promises she got it to me right on time.
Also, I think it’s a plus that she has maternity gowns/ accessories for the mom to be as these are very expensive to purchase for one day.
All and all I would highly recommend Shirley. She is super sweet, accommodating, reasonably priced, responsive, talented, and most importantly has a true passion for capturing such a precious time in a woman’s/family’s life. More...

When I was pregnant I started looking for maternity and newborn photographers in the greater Boston area. I found Shirley through a Facebook group and sent an email to inquire about her services. From day one, Shirley was always super responsive and professional. I wanted to do my maternity photos with the Boston skyline in the background. Shirley was very open to the idea and gave me a few suggestions on where we could take them. She was very considerate in thinking about parking, walking, etc. When we finally met her for our maternity shoot, she was so sweet and we immediately felt at ease. She did a great job capturing this special time in our lives. We also used her after our daughter was born for in-home newborn photos. She again was very professional and was able to fit us in a week after our daughter was born. She was so great working with both our newborn and our very excited dog! Shirley did a great job capturing various special moments with our newborn. Anytime our daughter started to stir or cry, Shirley was able to help calm her. She also took her time throughout the session and we never felt rushed. We can't say enough about Shirley! We'll definitely be using her again in the future! More...

This was our second year using Shirley to capture our family photos. The photos turned out wonderfully last year and we knew we wanted her to take our photos again this year. She did not disappoint! We have so many beautiful photos that it will be hard to choose just one for our holiday card. Shirley is great with young children and is a pleasure to work with. She was very accommodating when we needed to change the date and location of our photo shoot due to extremely cold weather. We definitely look forward to working with Shirley again soon. More...

I came across Shirley's page close to the end of my pregnancy. I was back and forth about having photos done because it was so expensive. I just wanted a little something to commemorate the beautiful time. When reached out to her she was so kind, understanding and flexible. She offered me a great package that was affordable and she was able to schedule me shortly and we had a beautiful maternity shoot in the park. What can I say? Shirley is THE BEST!! I think I found her on Facebook, she was running a special for maternity shoots & we needed some photos � It was our first time doing a shoot like that, and Shirley was incredible! She met us on the beach across the street from our house and was so easy to work with. We loved the photos so much we ended up using one of the shots for our New Years card. After Penny was born she came to do her newborn shots. Not only did she get some great photos, she was a baby whisperer! We are first time parents and she showed us some pro- tips to soothe our little girl. She can do it all! Most recently Penny turned 1! I can’t believe it! I found Shirley through an ad on Facebook. Immediately after going to her site and seeing her work, I wanted a maternity and newborn session booked. I am so glad I did. For my maternity shoot, the weather was not the best and I was so nervous about the outcome, but Shirley stayed in contact with me up until the minute before the session and was able to work around the weather while accommodating our ideas for poses.

Since I had a newborn session booked, Shirley often reached out to share in our excitement the countdown until our little lady arrived, and to share ideas about our session. When it came time for our newborn session, Shirley was truly amazing. It took awhile to get a newborn comfortable (feedings, changes, colic and fussing), but she was patient, knowledgeable, and stayed with us for most of the morning/afternoon to get the perfect candidate moments and poses. I was a bit nervous before our newborn session because I had just had an emergency C- Section, and was still in a good amount of pain. Shirley made sure I was comfortable and being in our own home helped.

After our sessions, Shirley put her final touches on our images. They were/are AMAZING! I am not a huge fan of how I look in photos, but these photos were the ones I dreamed about having when I was still hoping to become pregnant. Shirley made it her priority to make sure we were happy with the images.
