I highly recommend Paw Spa! I adopted a dog in December 2020 and needed to find a caring, professional & kind groomer for my Chocolate Lab. Gunnar suffers from separation anxiety but I felt he was in good hands when I left him with the crew at Paw Spa! The owner, Gabriella, is very hands on & attentive. She has always checked up on Gunnar & been sensitive to his skin issues! While Paw Spa is definitely pricey compared to other groomers, they do superb work! I would highly recommend Paw Spa! More...

Not worth the money.We took our pup here for a bath after his first visit when they told us he was too anxious for a full cut, so to bring him back every 1. 5-2 weeks just for bath services so he could get used to it, the groomer assured us then it should only be around $25 for the bath.Well, it was $75 not including tip to bathe our 8lb dog. Which, honestly, pricey, but slightly more reasonable (I guess?) if indeed the services they say they perform on their website were actually performed. But were his ears cleaned? Absolutely not. Nails trimmed? Nope. Best I can tell they washed him and brushed him and let him air dry. For. $75. Dollars. We could do the same at home for free. What a racket. Definitely will not be returning. I will admit I do miss seeing Garbriella at this location. Depending on the day... the front desk staff is not always the most pleasant but the groomers are very friendly and always do an excellent job on my JRT. My dog sheds a lot so I do the TheraCare with fresh breath. Services usually takes 2 1/2 hours which I appreciate because he is getting pampered. My dog is always excited to come here. I've tried other groomers in the past- my dog seemed terrified when he arrived and left which was a RED FLAG for me. Thank you PawSpa for always taking good care of Joey! After reading really good reviews I thought we'd give Paw Spa a shot for my 17lb cavachon pup. We came for a bath and had an ok experience. We prob won't be back just due to the prices. There's a reason they don't put their prices anywhere on their website or in the store... this place is HELLA expensive. Most baths for small dogs cost $30-$50 but it's $70 here plus a tip. Woof. That's how much I normally pay for a full groom. For a place this expensive I'm surprised they aren't friendlier and the spa cleaner. There's hair everywhere on the floor when you walk in. And the receptionist wasn't very nice at all. However, our groomer seemed to be very nice and I liked him. He did a good job - my dog is super clean and fresh and he followed my instructions. I brought my boy here for his first time and I was so nervous to leave him cause I knew he's still in his puppy habits like biting and anxiety of a new place but jordyn reassured me that everything was going to be fine and that it'll take time to get use to the groomers and in the end result man was it amazing! !! My boy came out looking so handsome! I got the full service and He looked so happy and smelled so clean! Jordyn gave me a step by step process of what they do and how my boy reacted to each step that it calmed me down knowing he was a good boy with a bit of accidents but he told me it's normal! This is a tough review to write because I've been a small business supporter as long as I can remember, before it was a cognizant trend. The reason I must write is because NO PUP should have to suffer like this. I requested a vet recommended hygiene area hair trim,  puppy bangs trim, nail file and ear cleaning.I was told the groom would take 3 or so hours. I got a call in 75 minutes saying she was ready. I was also casually informed during this call that Sansa "had developed a limp". The groomer (Cari) wasn't sure why/how/when that had happened but insisted that I should take her to her vet if it didn't subside by the morning. She suggested that some pups get traumatized and limp around for a few hours. When I picked her up I noted that Sansa smelled clean and had been washed and blow dried but only her bangs had been trimmed, not her nether parts as was requested (and paid for).The next day, I took her to the emergency vet center. They took x-rays and found that Sansa's tibia had been broken and her patella in the same leg was displaced. They recommended immediate surgery without which Sansa will not have a normal growth pattern and might always be hopping on three legs.My 5-month-old puppy now has several months of hard recovery ahead of her. She's in a cast and won't be able to play or even walk outside for another 4 weeks.Gabrielle, the owner of the Salon was initially very empathetic after she read my earlier review on Yelp. She called the surgery center and footed the bill for Sansa's surgery, $4730. She also said that she would install cameras in every room to prevent further injury. That being said, she still claims that her employees did nothing wrong, and that "sometimes flukes really do happen." Sansa's surgeon believes that she either fell from a tall height, or had her leg tugged roughly. Even if that were a "fluke," the right thing to do would have been for them to immediately take Sansa to the vet, or, at the very least, tell me how she'd been injured. It's surprising that a trained groomer didn't recognize a severe injury, and instead dismissed it as just a "limp." Even after we told Gabrielle what the vet said, she said that she was "giving [the employee] the benefit of the doubt." In other words, she's perfectly fine employing a groomer who broke a puppy's leg and didn't tell anyone about it.So, even though Gabrielle has expressed sympathy and helped us pay for Sansa's injuries, I cannot recommend this business. Their standards for groomers are dangerously low, and their practices have caused my puppy a long-term, potentially permanent injury. More...

I have to add an update.  Ms. Brown (owner) spoke with me yesterday and she was very apologetic.  She had questions for me and I answered them, then she reassured me that she would take full responsibility of making sure that Smokey was properly cared for.  She asked that we take him to the vet and totally covered the bill.  I was so relieved! I just want my sweet dog to be ok.  I will update in another week, but she said that she would rectify this wrong by getting cameras installed and I totally agree.  A very responsible decision. Initially I thought this place was great!  My dog had never looked so good.  I took my doodle in for a complete grooming at 11am and he was returned to me at 6pm.  I thought that was quite a long time but when I saw him I was very pleased.  I paid more than $209 on this service and it was a black owned business so I decided to be patient UNTIL..My dog started exhibiting signs of pain.  I thought maybe it was the nail tips I had placed on ( there was glue on his paws, I'll NEVER get this done again!) but no.. he kept biting his tail.I also got the tip of his tail dyed so I thought maybe he had a chemical burn.  He became so uncomfortable that I decided to cut the dye off of his tail to find the "burn" when I discovered that a rubber band was left on the end of my dog's tail, which was cutting off circulation!!!!! I was furious!  I still tried to resolve the matter peacefully with the store but they totally shirked all responsibility!  The claimed they don't use rubber bands, well neither do I.  So, now I'm left trying to make sure my dog isn't permanently altered because of careless grooming techniques and people who have bad customer service.  I was told Gabriella would call but she never did.  Save your fur baby, don't ever go to this place More...

Guess I have to update my review of this place.  After speaking to the owner and wanting to have my dog groomed.  Booking several weeks out and taking into account the new store, they cancelled with less than 24 hours to go.  If I did that, I'd have to pay for full services.  I won't be coming back here.  If you can't scale up your business and provide quality service, then don't scale up. Had the best experience at Paw Spa today! My long haired cat hadn't been groomed in months so I needed a lion cut done ASAP and Carrie (apologize if I'm misspelling) did an amazing job! My cat has been scratched by clippers in the past so I was worried about going to a new groomer but there isn't a single uneven spot on him now that he's returned home. I was also updated regularly on his progress and received a text 30 minutes before he was ready for pickup which was extremely helpful for planning out my day. First time visit because I needed last minute appointment.  Staff was not overly friendly and did nothing to make my dog feel comfortable.  Even PetCo tries more to soothe a nervous dog.  She is not nervous at her regular groomer maybe because she knows her.  Not the worse haircut my dog had, not close to the best for $108 plus a 20% tip.  Cut was choppy and uneven.  She has spots of pink skin allover.  Will not go back or recommend More...

I just picked up my 15-year-old Yorkshire Terrier from Paw Spa. This was my first visit. I changed from my usual groomer to support this business as a matter of social choice even though it was $40 dollars more than I usually spend. I will only say that I was distraught at the cut because his front legs had two long lines that indicated the groomer cut him to his skin.  This was not the groom I had asked for or expected for $90. He was simply shaved almost to the skin all over except his face.When I spoke to the manager, her attitude was somewhat condescending as she defended the groomer and her work. I was told this cut was what I asked for. I felt my concerns were brushed off. As a senior citizen and woman on a fixed sole income, who saves and plans for such services, I cannot recommend this business for anyone under similar conditions. More...

I'm a little late on this review.  I took my puppy here a little over a month ago.  She was in desperate need of a bath and nail trim. I booked an appt that was more expensive than what my puppy needed.  I appreciated that the front staff let me know that my puppy only needed a less expensive service.  I only interacted with the young lady at the front desk.  She was very friendly and offered great customer service.  It was my puppy's first time getting groomed and I appreciated the experience she and I had.  I wish this place was closer to where I live so I could take her there more often.  I meticulously researched where to take her to introduce her to being groomed and I am so glad the research lead me here.  They also kept me informed of how she was doing and gave me a head up of when she would be ready to be picked up.  Unfortunately my puppy won't be there regularly because of the distance, but she will certainly be back! The quick was cut/exposed on all 20 of my dog's nails. Cutting the quick is extremely painful for dogs given it is living tissue. An exposed quick can also lead to severe bone infections. When I picked up my dog, the male groomer told me that my dog was yelping and shaking during the grooming of his feet. I contacted my veterinarian and she advised to check the dogs paws for cuts and the nails for exposed quicks. Sure enough, all of his nails were cut extremely short. I called the owner, and provided her with photos via text. She was receptive to my concerns, but defended the male groomer and did not offer an apology. If you plan to take your dog here, consider explicitly asking for no nail trimming. I asked for a bathing and hair cut for my dog and to my surprise his nails were all cut when I arrived to pick him up. More...

Excellent same day service at a great price! Took our 4 year old lab (60 pounds) in for standard grooming. Facility is clean and well maintained. It didn't feel chaotic like many grooming facilities  - everything was organized and orderly. We brought our rescue Remy here for his first ever grooming and we were extremely happy with the results! He's a big 70 lb. Pyrenees mix that is nervous around the bath, but Casey brought him out looking so handsome and beautifully groomed. Pricing was quite fair, the staff were so kind and loving to Remy, and his groomer Casey did an excellent job in all the areas we had discussed. I took my senior cat Luna in today for a bath service and I couldn't be happier with the results. Her fur is soft, her nails are trimmed, and I even noticed they moisturized her toe beans. I was nervous bringing her in because this was her first grooming service since I adopted her and I didn't know how she would behave, but the staff were wonderful and took good care of my little girl. Lovely folks our 1st time we have a senior dog who is blind no teeth hard of hearing 91 yrs young & a 1.5 Giant Schnoodle the cuts were fabulous  no nicks or trauma on either furbaby couldn't smell any fresh spa scents & both girls begin scratching when we got them in the truck I had to give them antihistamine to stop itching otherwise I'm completely satisfied I will consider them in the future but have a conversation about shampoo conditioner etc More...

The best grooming salon in the DMV! Not only they groom dogs but cats as well. I've gone there twice and was never disappointed. They definitely know how to take amazing care of your fur babies especially for cats. The groomers have the patience and skills to get them clean up nicely. Absolutely the worst! Gave me an estimate of 3 hours when I dropped my puppy off, I emphasized that it was his first time and I didn't want him to stay long. They were dismissive saying that I could take him back if I wasn't comfortable.....so much for me bringing him back the second time (the first time I did take him back, coz I made an error while booking his appointment online). They said they would call once he was ready. I promptly showed up after 3 hours and mentioned that I did not get call/text, they charged my credit card and went back to get my puppy. The groomer shows up and says that he would need another hour and half, when I showed my annoyance they asked if I would like to take him back (in retrospect I should have). I should have known then that they are not compassionate or considerate folks. They were definitely not apologetic. Kept my puppy for over 5 hours eventhough we made an appointment in person. During COVID times they are not at all concerned about customers shuttling back and forth to their location. As I left the place the owner calls me and said that I brought bad energy coz I was upset and slammed the door (for which I apologized)...I wonder why? What about ruining your customer's energy? Now the worst part, they did not pay any attention to my request on how I wanted him trimmed. They completely messed up the haircut (they pretty much shaved him), my puppy has cuts on his legs and private area. This is what I got for my time and money. More...

I freaking love this place. I take my dog Rocky and Echo for their routine grooming/cuts. Rocky often does the Theraclean enzyme treatments for his sensitive skin. My dog gets bad allergies and when I came to this place they introduced theraclean to me and it helped him so much! Other dog grooming stores do not offer this service. My dog died two weeks after getting a service here.  My original plan had been to get him cleaned and trimmed.  They said that they need to remove all his hair. I objected and said he would go to Boston soon and might feel cold.  I also told them he was an old dog.  They told me not to worry about it.  They ended up trimming him completely.  When I picked him up he was shivering.  He didnt want to eat or drink much for several days.  He kept shivering even with two jackets on, I took him to the vet hospital, and he died. Scheduling online was a breeze. They were very responsive when we had questions, as well as when we had minor technical issue sending over vaccine records. Receptionist was warm & inviting, immediately greeting both the dogs. Groomer came out to ask about any preferences. I let her know I really wanted to do something fantastic to surprise my partner! Please take free reign & do something fun with what there is. She mentioned fur friendly coloring if we ever interested. I let her now my partners fav color & to please go for!! It's official....Joey has the best groomer/grooming spa! I brought my puppy here for the first time back in January. I will admit the first experience wasn't superb, but good. When I dropped him off, a staff member stated it would be a few hours and told me to expect a text message. Almost 3 hours went by, still no call and/or text. So I decided to give them a ring and was notified he was ready for pickup 45 mins ago. The front desk person stated he sent a text so I checked my messages again and didn't see one. Upon picking up Joey, his collar was gone so I asked about it and they told me they had no knowledge of it. In that moment, I wasn't sure if I wanted to bring him back because I felt the front desk staff was cold during the discussion of my puppy being ready and his collar missing. Aside from the front desk experience, Joey looked amazing! You can tell they were detailed in his cleaning and fur brushing. He also smelled amazing a day or two after his visitSidebar: my husband owns an auto shop and when the puppy is there he comes home grey/gray. Moving to 2/27: Communication was amazing, front desk was friendly and helpful. Joey left super cleaned. The bonus to this visit, I could smell his fresh breath hours after his grooming and 1 meal later. I think their prices are fair for the quality of services Joey receives: Fresh Breath and Thera-Clean bath.Gabriella has groomed him twice and I plan to keep booking her for all of his services!
