Great Korean BBQ in the peninsula. I like this place because of their charcoal grill and service. I had 7 in my party on a Saturday night and we ordered the deluxe, well worth the extra $5. Omg! This place was so freaking good!!!! We were seated right away, the host was so friendly and welcoming, the waitress Melissa was so attentive, kind, and explained everything to us, the manager Moon Gu was EXCELLENT! ! He brought over sauces that we could use to dip the food into, he turned our meats for us when they were ready (we are amateurs at this) and he showed us how it's done and we were so grateful. Visiting from Florida and needed some Korean BBQ in my life during my stay so decided to try this spot since I was staying close to SFO. Found it on Google and drove there myself. The only negative to this review would be attempting to find parking. Dinner was on a Sunday at around 6pm. Again, I'm not from around here so not sure if this is the norm in general, but after I finally found a spot on the street it all went up from there. I didn't have reservations so I walked in with my wife and were warmly greeted and seated within minutes. It started getting busy as we were eating so I'm sure you'll be waiting if you come at peak time. The food was so good, and the sides were great. They use charcoal/wood instead of the traditional gas flames and boy what a difference in taste. A bit smokey, but they do advise that beforehand. I always go with my Short ribs, Ribeye, Bulgogi and boy when I tell you the marinated options were so good, they were soooo Goood! You get a chiice of all the traditional Korean sides, which were great as always. Shout out to our Server Melissa who was so sweet, awesome and attentive and the Manager Moongu was just as exceptional! He gave us tips and even helped with laying out the meat and veggies on the grill for us. Loved the customer service and the food was delicious! Good Korean BBQ with 20+ choices of meat, shrimp, pork, chicken and more. They have marinated choices so very good.They are using REAL charcoal which is a gem. Now they need to fix few important issues:1. The smoke is just annoying all the time. Not enough air in the place. You can't barely breath. This is a problem to solve. It's almost not healthy.2. They put wine on the list but they have no wine. Only the Korean "juice" wine which is not a wine. More like a dessert wine. This is "killing" a bit the experience. Decent taste and reasonable price all you can eat korean BBQ place. You can chose Value course $25 per person or Deluxe course $30 per person. I personally recommend Deluxe. It's worth $5 different. We got all from deluxe menu. We came here Saturday around 5:30 without reservation. We got a table without waiting but when we left around 7, it was packed and line inside and even outside. Come here early!What I like about- service was great. Servers come to our table pretty often to give any helps. Thank you!-so much food. Of course it's all you can eat but my fiance and I got really full. Definitely got more value than what we paid for-vegitables and appitizers like kimchi, pan cakes etc were easy to access and tasty. Not as expected were- We couldn't get a fermented soju. Soju they have was commercialized one. -usually Korean BBQ places make fried rice with pork belly and rice at the end. Which I love. I've been here 3x. Been here on a Friday night, a Saturday afternoon, and a Thursday night. All the times has been spectacular. You can definitely taste the difference with the charcoal grill. And the staff. OMG, the staff have been fantastic!! Top notch, on point, and gave great recommendations. Especially Moon, he's the best! I thought I knew how to Korean BBQ, but Moon taught my friends and I the legit way to do it. His services went above and beyond!! Totally blown away. He even showed us the secret sauce! Been here a number of times and this place is always solid! For such a great price you have so many options and best of all you get to cook it over a charcoal grill. It's Smokey, it smells great, and it's a great experience to share with everyone! The owners are super friendly and they came by to chat with us. Very nice husband and white couple who have been here a couple of years. They also just updated the ventilation system and everything is much more efficient. The cool thing about this place is you bbq over coal! It's also a bit of a con because initially the ambient air around the grill is also very hot. So I found myself trying to eat as far away from the grill as I could.I particularly like this place for the buffet style sides. I was a little dissappointed this time because the jap chae was dry even though it had just opened. But I would say over all the meat and side selection is pretty great. Yes! It is best Korean all you can eat bbq restaurant. I love their charcoal grill. It gives meat smokey and flavorful. There is a huge side dishes section for self service. Underrated gem of a KBBQ place. I went here with a party of 3 family members. I have been to a number of AYCE KBBQ spots in the bay and this has one of the best quality I've tasted here. Yea, it's smoky inside, but that's the beauty of it. The coal grills add that smokiness that makes BBQ what it's supposed to be. No weak gas burners here that constantly shut off on you. And not to mention the service. Our waitress was amazing and this has been one of the best experiences I've ever had at a KBBQ place. She was very sweet, attentive, and kept our orders going despite getting so much. She gave the extra effort so satisfy us, which we usually don't get at these type of restraints. Our highlights were the marinated Kalbi and the rib fingers (which isn't actual beef fingers but sliced pieces of a rib cap, which was what she recommended). And despite the $30 price take per person (which is well worth the value, by the way), we enjoyed every single bite. The meat was not loaded with ridiculous amounts of fat or had marinades that were way too sweet for even a sweet tooth. Very underrated place and I'll definitely be back within the next month! Great Food, Great Service. Excellent employee's. On top of everything making sure not only my table had the necessities we needed , but others as well. Didn't have to wait too long or anything! Meats are very fresh and great serving sizes, I highly recommend this restraunt to any families or friends that wants to go somewhere to eat and have a great time to socialize. The charcoal is amazing, the charcoal guy is amazing as well, this young guy with glasses always cracking jokes when he places our charcoal down. Damn I love this place. The banchan itself is enough to come here, the selection is extensive and the service is top notch. There aren't too many places open to eat during the awkward 3-5 lunch hour so it's very refreshing to see hospitality at its best and at an amazing price point compared to San Francisco or San Jose. Another thing, they are a CHARCOAL bbq spot which is incredibly difficult to find in the Bay Area if you are looking for authentic Korean bbq, it makes a huge difference in taste and there's nothing that beats a beautiful char on the briskets/galbi. This is one of my favorite k-bbq places, the service is great, has a real family feel to it. Foodwise the place has all the meats you'd expect from a k-bbq joint, including short-ribs. Make sure to make a reservation because it can sometimes be full. 1st Review ever that I've ever made. a Friend recommended this place. After hearing that they are charcoal instead of gas burners and that the owner changed, It was experience I had to try with friends. I pulled together a party of 11, I've messaged the restaurant owner via Yelp to get an reservation (because they were closed on Tuesdays), the new owner reply super quick. Most of us are 1st timers to this restaurant. The overall experience was excellent, staff were friendly/welcoming and meet the owner a little bit later and he was very welcoming to my party during our visit. Their protein selection are great even their Banchans picking are wide (Buffet style. So grab those side you enjoy). One of the take away I enjoy from this restaurant from the other DIY Korean BBQ. They don't use that Iron plate cook top that other DIY Korean BBQ that uses with gas as the heat source that requires Iron cook plate that you'll be frequently changing throughout your cooking time (Reducing your time to cook and eat) As you'll see from other yelper's photos, This restaurant uses wire mesh as the cooking top with Charcoal being the heat. The dripping from the meat drips on to the charcoal and smokes back on to the meat that it being cook, further maximizes the flavor the meat that is being cooked. (Just be careful of the flare up over time when the fat hits the charcoals) If you happen to be in that mode for charcoal grill foods and craving for Korean BBQ. This is the place to go. I'll definitely will be returning back with another group that want to experience the DYI Korean BBQ in a different scale from the other competition out there. Don't let the 3.5 stars fool you! They've recently changed owners and the new owners are killing it with the service and food. We stopped by for dinner right when they opened on a Friday night, and were seated right away. It definitely does get smoky due to the grill, but as with any Korean BBQ place, don't wear your nice clothes. We went with the Classic menu at $30.95/person, and it was a great deal. While some other places have more offerings on the menu, the 28 items are really more than enough. Everything we tried was high quality, and absolutely delicious. Each serving is pretty small, but service was top-notch and we never had any downtime between needing to order more meat because our waitress was always ready for our next round. Not only was our waitress punctual, but our grill was consistently getting changed out, and at one point, we even had help grilling because we struggled a little with using the grill properly without having meat fall through the cracks. They don't strictly enforce the time limit, but our waitress did politely let us know that we were nearing the 1.5 hour limit if we wanted to order anything else. To be honest, time limits never bother me because I don't know anyone who can eat meat nonstop for 2 hours?Either way, this place was awesome and the banchan buffet is the best thing ever. I hate having to constantly ask for refills on banchan, so it was really nice having the convenience of getting whatever I wanted. Grab your friends and get ready to eat some yummy bbq and drink soju! This is one of the only KBBQ spots in the peninsula and its pretty good for the value! They have a whole lot of banchan on a buffet - which is better than it being served at your table and going to waste. I personally like the seasoned broccoli and fishcake. Honestly you can't beat using a real charcoal grill. Who doesn't love a nice char on their short ribs? Anyways, I usually stick with the beef items such as brisket, kalbi and bulgogi. Love the brisket here, it's sliced thin and cooks quick! The kalbi is sooo good here. The owner Kerry told me they use a four bone kalbi which results in more meat (YESSSS!) This place has amazing customer service! Our server was so friendly and was fast with bringing in plates and clean up. Their sides bar is a plus since you can just choose which vegetables and other sides you would like instead of waiting for them to serve it to you. The rice is served separate just like the meat so let the servers know. They have a no-waste food policy which charges $10 for large amounts of food wasted, so make sure to know your limits. More...

Excellent dish it was flavorful. I came in they sat us down. We ordered miso pork belly ,and the rest I don't remember .  I don't really like doing things by myself.
