What a pleasant surprise! Came here just before the kitchen closed one night and they couldn't be nicer. Food was great. I had a bowl (can't remember if it had a name) with rice, black beans, and roasted veggies. It was delicious. The salsa was very good, too, and we washed our meal down with margaritas. This place was awful a year ago....was better in the past, but is getting progressively worse. Service was poor...owner just said they are short of staff. ..not my problem sir...fix it. Menus were disgusting...dried food on them! Drink price are up now to $18...quality of food was sub par. Orders were wrong. Finally, at check out, they hand you a gross food stained wireless credit card unit...I didn't want to touch this damn thing...did this place ever learn anything from covid? Bring me a check and take my card, don't force customers to touch your mobile petri dish! Need to call state health department...recommend you stay away. Next time for Mexican we'll go to Au t Chilada's in Hamden or Viva Zapata in New Haven! More...

Dined here last night on the patio which has lots of tables with umbrellas. Our waiter was great. We have been coming to this establishment for several yrs with our kids who live in the area and it was always just "ok" but after last nights meal I am giving a shout out to management and the chef! They have stepped it up! Food was delicious. Plentiful complimentary chips and salsa too. Yummy eats included various street tacos and taco salad.....everyone fully gastronomically happy. Go here. My first time trying Senior Panchos in Southbury, CT for a late lunch.I always start out with the not so good & end with all the good stuff. I waited a bit long to be seated considering there was only three or four other customers at that time.Once I was acknowledged and seated it was All Good!After getting my drink order the yummy homemade tortilla chips and salsa came out.For an appetizer I ordered queso fundido with chorizo.For those of you not familiar queso fundido is melty cheesy goodness. Not for those counting calories. The chorizo gives it that extra kick.For lunch I had steak quesadillas which were four good sizes pieces the steak inside so tender. The quesadilla was a nice golden brown. I opted out for the guacamole and lettuce on top but those are options.If you dont eat alot of the chips or get an app then most likely you'll need to order a side to go with the steak quesadillasIm hungry just writing this review! This was a cute little spot that you might pass by if you didn't know it was here. We stopped in here after being in town to visit family. After day 3 of thanksgiving leftovers we decided we wanted something different before heading back to Ohio. Our family of 4 was squeezed into a booth that would have probably sat 2 comfortably. We made due and looked over the menu to find lots of good options! As a vegetarian of course I know I'm limited at other places but here I was eyeing 3 different menu options. I chose the plantain and black bean tacos which were pretty good. They came topped with a Mango salsa and avocado. Everything was seasoned well but the lack of texture was not fun so I ask for some cabbage to add and that definitely helped. I also ordered a Margarita which was fair at best. I did take a couple sips of the soup which was amazing! I dodged the chicken as much as I could in the soup but the flavor was soooo good and light. We ended the night with sopapillas with vanilla ice cream and they were also great. I did have 1 small complaint, there is such thing as checking on a table too much. We were warned by my parents that arrived a few minutes before I did but it seemed like we were ask if we were ok every 5 minutes. It was ok a first but after awhile, we just wanted to eat. This is a must go to place. Bring a date enjoy Mexican food under the backyard romantic lights. There is backyard games, plenty of seating, and some tranquility. Indoors you are welcomed to plenty of tables to sit for a large party. The decor is very nice and has child seats for the little ones. The bar is great to watch some sports while enjoying some margaritas which are made perfectly.The food is super delicious and plentiful. I would recommend the rice bowls but it's hard to say no to the other food. So that just means to you need to come back for more. Did I mention they have Chimichangas!? That had me sold of course. First time here though we've eaten at the Prospect location for many years. The food was just as good and the service better . .. it's tended to be pretty slow in Prospect for a while! I visited Senor Panchos in Southbury with a group of friends to catch up. The service was decent except for when an employee spilled a drink on my friend and all down her lap. I was surprised by how unapologetic they were. It wasn't like my friend was upset with them, but geez at least act like you care that you just soaked someone's clothes and now they have to sit and eat while wet. Other than that, the service was ok and food was good. The salsa is my favorite in the area. The rice bowls and burritos were popular among my group. It was quiet for a while while we were there and once we were getting ready to leave the restaurant filled up with other customers. Atmosphere is cute, location is convenient. I would most likely still come here as food and not too many good Mexican restaurants in the area. More...

I am so disappointed to write this. I've loved Senor Panchos for years - great Tex Mex.  Never had a bad meal there until today.  I ordered beef enchiladas in green sauce. What I got was three flour tortillas filled with dry ground beef, no seasoning at all that I could detect.  No cheese. No sour cream. Just a dribble of green colored sauce that was so acidic I couldn't even choke it down.  Is it COVID? Maybe they can't find cooks?  I don't know but I am really sad because it was actively horrible and I've been fighting nausea all night. More...

This has been our family favorite restaurant since moving to the area 15 years ago.  Their salsa is the best and is made with fresh ingredients.  Have had many quiet meals for the 2 of us as well as many large family dinners here and are never disappointed.  The owner Andy works hard to keep the place up to high standards with high quality and delicious meals with a friendly staff.  Looking forward to having a family celebration for my birthday this Sunday! We love Senior Panchos have been here many times before and during covid but my family sat on the back patio today and waited almost 1. 5hrs for our food to arrive. We watched several tables be severed and leave before our food was delivered. Like I said love this place but this is absolutely unacceptable. Will not be back for a long time. Sorry!! More...
