In the Spring of 2018, our Founding Partner, Tiasia, woke up in the middle of the night with an idea. Her idea was based around developing services and products that make it easier for community residents to collaborate with local governments and organizations for social impact. Building off of the traditional town forum, Tiasia wanted to make the process more hands-on, more people-centered, and more economically productive.
“What if there was a marketplace for downtown revitalization organizations and municipalities?” The idea made sense. Local officials, community stake-holders, and improvement district leaders deserve more support for the work they do to keep cities livable. Revitalizing a Main Street can do wonders for any community, but leading it can be difficult.
After learning more about urbanization, and realizing that about 3 million people around the world move to cities each week, she realized that the data she was seeing made sense, too. Many brainstorming sessions and late nights later, she launched Seam Social Labs, Inc. to support the very people who help us walk, commute, shop, and dine locally every single day.
Now, with a team and collective of bright minds, Seam Social Labs is on a mission to find dynamic ways to support the civic leaders of today for the cities and towns of tomorrow through our human centered approach to urbanization.
