My specialty tends to be working with people. I'm not going to talk down to you while helping you with setting up your new computer, virus removal, backup setup, cloud services, basic computer training, Windows upgrading, hardware diagnostics or just speeding up your slow computer.

I found Scott the Tech Dr through a friend and saw many nice comments on Nexdoor so I thought I'd give him a try. I'm fairly good at resolving computer issues but this current one had me stumped. I dropped my processor off to Scott who took the time needed to solve the issue. He spent much more time than he quoted but he held firm to his quote. This is the way to run a business. Scott eventually diagnosed and solved the issue and had the unit back to me in a couple of days. Scott is not only versed in computer issues, he is an all around electronic wiz that can handle audio/visual needs among many other things. I could not recommend Scott the Tech Dr. more highly. Scott is the REAL deal, very knowledgeable! Great solution vs the big box stores or Geek Squad, can do it all remotely if needing just computer help. Highly recommend him!

What do you love most about your job?
I'm a people person. I love working with people one and one, I consider it my specialty. I enjoy the fact that every day is a different situation to solve.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've been working with Chicagoland families and small businesses for over 10 years now. Helping with issues large and small anywhere from large system repairs to tutoring lessons. No task is too small. I grew up in Northbrook where I still have family there and sprinkled throughout the northshore, but moved to Evanston in 1995 and never looked back. I have a son named Charlie who was born in 2011. Evanston is my base, but I travel all over to serve my clients. Need to know more? Ask away...
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I can connect to your computer via remote access. This means you don’t need me at your house to fix a problem. You can see everything I’m doing on your screen at all times and you can disconnect any time you want. I will need your permission each time I access your computer so don’t worry about me having access to it at any other time. This allows me to do just about anything that I can do while sitting in front of your computer (short of opening the case or inserting a disc). This service also saves you money as it’s less expensive than me having to drive to your house. All you need is a working internet connection and you’re all set!
Whether you just need a lesson on how to do a specific task, or you’re having an issue that you need fixed, or you just want me to do monthly maintenance (spyware and virus scans and removal), the convenience of Remote Support IS just what the doctor ordered.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I have adjusted the way I run my business. I'm certainly in a mask the entire time and ask that we give each other space while I'm working to keep each other safe.
