Book Savannah Steve immediately. Way more affordable than most other area DJs without any sacrifice in quality. He was very responsive throughout planning, payment was simple, and we even got to meet at the venue two days prior to the event. At our wedding reception, he not only kept the flow of the event going and tweaked musical selections as needed, but he even led group dances! Savannah Steve: come for the alliteration, stay for the party. More...

Savannah Steve was the best! He really was exactly what our wedding needed. He has a great website where I was able to set up an entire playlist and submit it. I really enjoyed that part. As I heard a song on the radio, I could log in and add it! I definitely recommend Savannah Steve for your event! More...

Everything about Steve was great! I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. If there was some kind of dance that everyone wanted to do, but nobody really knew the moves he would actually get out on the dance floor and show us! ! He was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!!! Thank you Steve for everything! More...

After my previous DJ plans failed a couple months before the wedding, I came across Savannah Steve's webpage and decided to inquire for information. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism in his response, especially his pricing! As someone who doesn't like to dance, finding a DJ was not one of my priorities, so I took a gamble on someone I knew nothing about -- What a good choice it was! Savannah Steve made it really easy to plan my event and make payments on his website, and threw a really great party at the reception. He even threw in a few songs on his guitar! Thanks for everything, Savannah Steve! More...

Q&As

It's important to include all ages on the dance dance floor. Just because some people may look old, they're really just grown up kids trapped in an old body. It is human nature to want to join others who are smiling and having fun, so it only makes sense to try and make everyone happy!

Although I do possess awesome speaking skills for announcements and such, I'm not a loudmouth who is constantly yelling in the mic asking the audience "Y'all havin' a good time?" To me, that is a sure sign of an inexperienced DJ. I prefer to let the music do the talking, but I do love to get out and interact with dancers, maybe show some line dance steps, or give them the mic during epic singalongs. Been in the music biz since 1978, so needless to say I have a warehouse of knowledge and experience to be flexible and keep a good flow.

To see people letting go and having fun is so gratifying. Although rap music is not my favorite by any means, I have no trouble playing it all night if that is what brings happiness. I am there for my customers 100%, and that is what I love to do!

I didn't choose music; it chose me. It is something I inherited somewhere along the line. From a young age I was able to figure out songs and melodies on a piano, without guidance. Simply natural curiosity. Then I saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 at the ripe age of nine, and that was it. My destiny was etched in stone, although back then, being a musician was not considered a real job, but still continued pursuing my dream. Was a music major in high school. Other than a few times traveling around the country, I cannot recall not being in a band of some sort. It was in my blood. Upon moving to Savannah in 1990, my wife and I found out a baby was on the way. Suddenly my fathering instincts went into overdrive. I needed to find a way to make money. Considered all kinds of jobs, but my heart sank at the thought of not being a musician. That's when it struck that I should get my act together, create a music presentation and get out there and sell myself. The idea worked better than I ever imagined, to the point where I was working almost every night. I had created a job for myself, actually I was on a career path. Thirty eight years later, still going strong!

If EXPERIENCE means anything, that alone should be the reason you would hire Savannah Steve. With over a half century of musical performances under the belt, it's just reassuring to know you have a seasoned veteran running things on stage!
