I absolutely loved this store. We went in here while visiting Savannah and walking down Broughton Street. Its a neat looking store with samples to try and employees with friendly faces and smiles. Maybe its working for Savannah Bee, maybe it's just that Georgia southern charm you hear about.If you like honey they have everything honey. Honey for tea, honey for deserts, honey for cheese, honeycomb, honey soaps, lotions, lip balm and even Mead. My favorite skin item has to be the body butter, or maybe the beeswax salve? Both of them are sure to clear up any dry looking hands.As I was walking around I saw what appeared to be beer tasting in the back and it turns out they have Mead tasting here - mead is alcohol made from honey (never knew this nor heard of it before). And it was my lucky day. Black Friday special was 50% off. Yes please!!!It was a nice assortment of meads to taste. They were all yummy in their own way. We couldn't decide on the X R Cyser (which tastes like Apple pie in a glass) or the Tupelo one which first tastes like honey then each taste after has a different lingering taste. I got the bananas foster for my neighbor. We picked the X R Cyser and the banana fosters and went to pay. Well lucky me again the lady tells me if we buy 3 bottles we get 10% off entire purchase. So we got the Tupelo one.They have another store on River Street but after going in this one I didn't even go into their River St store.Buy the Tupelo honey - its more money than the others but it is so delectable you wont regret it. While on the Savannah Tasting Tour, we visited the Savannah Bee Company on our last stop. We engaged in tasting the many different varieties of honey. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about all the products they produce. Our favorites were the Palmetto honey, Tupelo honey and the Sourwood honey. The store offers a large assortment of honey, health and beauty products, coffee, tea and other items produced by local bee farmers. Customers can sample different varieties of honey as well as raw honey, coffee and other products. They have an indoor play area for small children. The store also offers a selection of gluten-free meads, as the products do not contain any wheat or barley. Customers can purchase a flight and sample five different meads at the in-store bar. Please note: ID is required and checked before customers can purchase a flight to participate in the mead tasting session. Servers provide a brief description of the featured meads before serving each item along with a printed guide that lists the description and price of the sample items served.
