I recently hired Matthew for our New Year celebration at home and I must say, he exceeded all our expectations. He arrived an hour ahead of time and brought along a whole set of curtains and table, along with a performance stage, which he set up in our living room. He was professional, on time, communicative, and extremely patient, waiting for all the guests to arrive before beginning his performance.Matthew's magic show was a hit with all the guests, and my friends have been raving about it ever since. They were amazed by how he was able to perform such mind-blowing tricks without giving away any secrets. So many good things to say about Matthew. First of all, his performance is definitely a cut above the rest. Not just entertaining for the kids, and definitely not a clown with a few tricks up his sleeve. Someone you actually want to watch, although I didn't get a chance to sit down at our daughters' combined birthday party. I have been hearing great things from guests since the party.He is very professional. He's great at following up and responding, willing to work with your budget, shows up a little early and not rushing out the door once his time is up.Another quality I appreciated was that he was patient with guests. There was a child that was a bit blunt when interacting, I was a little embarrassed. But Matthew held his composure and kept the ball rolling. I can tell he has a lot of experience under his belt and really cares about his business. Magician Matthew King is exactly what is name says-magical. Â He made our annual company holiday party one for the books this year. Â It was a masquerade theme party with Matthew King as the special surprise guest. Â None of us knew who he was because he even wore a mask! Â His tricks were truly amazing and I still can't wrap my mind around any of them. Â He interacted so well with everybody in attendance and has been the talk of our office even days later! My sister and I hired Matthew King to come to a restaurant to entertain a crowd of 38 kids between the ages of 2 and 12. You would not believe me if I told you how PHENOMENAL Matthew King was. Our family and two other families were weekend vacationing in San Diego so we decided to book a magician to come to our Airbnb for a morning show. Matt performed for our 8 year old's party & we are so pleased with his work! From the beginning he communicated thoroughly and in a timely manner. He arrived early for set up and was very professional. He kept the kids occupied with some preview tricks as we were awaiting more guests to arrive, which they loved! Â During the show, he kept the kids (and adults!) engaged with a full set of back to back tricks that even kept our teenagers wondering, HOW!? He was very patient with the young group and was a real pleasure to work with. We just celebrated both my children's 4th and 2nd  CIRCUS theme Birthday yesterday, and we thought it would be great to have a magician there. Found Matthew on Yelp, and decided to hire him for the job. We had guests as young as 2 yrs old and 80+adults in attendance, and EVERYONE WAS ENTERTAINED by him. This will be one of those 'look no further, drop everything and book Matt' reviews. If you're looking for a magician, you found him! Matt entertained about 20 kids (and all the applicable adults) at our sons fifth birthday today. He was patient, kind, amazing with the kids, and put on an outstanding show. If he did a trick that some kids weren't into, he immediately switched it up... I can honestly say that he kept every kid (and adult) entertained for a good hour. Any parent knows how hard it is to keep a 5 year old's attention for even 20 mins, so this was an amazing day for us! I booked Matt a few months out and he was right on top of getting back to me, working out scheduling with me, and always responded any time I reached out. He was punctual, spent the time with us he promised (plus some)... was not rushed and totally wanted to help make this day amazing for our son. Matt was the entertainment for my 5 year old's birthday party. There were about 20 three to nine year olds and he kept everyone engaged and entertained. Adults loved him too! Super professional set up with a stage and table and all sorts of props. He called on almost all the kids at different points of his show and really kept them mesmerized. Good bargain magic show. I hired him for a small, private showing of 50-60 college students and he got a good feel for our humor level and played to it well. Took off one star because communication wasn't strong when I was booking him, but he was busy with Halloween work and the show turned out fine by the end so it's understandable. How long have you been interested in magic?
I was first fooled by a magic effect at age 7, and that started my interest. There was no such thing as YouTube or DVD players at that time, and a school field trip to the library landed me in the "Games" section of the books. There, I found magic books. I was trying to figure out how this single effect was accomplished, and I ended up learning other effects, and loving what I was learning. I discovered what it is like to be the one giving others the feeling of bewilderment.
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
Most stage shows are a non-stop magic experience involving some audience participation, mentalism, mind reading, and comedy magic routines that are quick, witty, and charming! The preparation and set-up time varies from event to event. For strolling magic, you can expect to see some mind reading, sleight-of-hand, unforgettable card effects, and some other unique pocket-sized illusions that have fooled some of the best in the industry! What do you love most about your job?
I am truly thankful to be doing what I love! My favorite part of being a full-time magician is that I'm creating happy memories for people that last a lifetime. I am fortunate to now be the one providing the sense of bewilderment in people's lives, as I once experienced as a child.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I actually started my magic business at age 12! Later, I was simultaneously performing magic and working in law for 17 years, and magic slowly took over my schedule to a point where I had to choose law, or magic. I followed my passion.

Strolling and Close-up Magic
"Strolling Magic", aka "Mingle Magic", aka "Roaming Magic", aka "Roving Magic", aka "Walk Around Magic": This is where the magician roams from table to table, or just around the general performance area creating unforgettable memories for your guests with card effects, coin effects, sleight-of-hand, mind reading and other pocket-sized illusions. Strolling Magic is great addition to corporate events, mixers, weddings, restaurants, holiday parties, or anytime you have a large group of people to entertain.
