This review is long overdue! I've been going to Salon Aguayo for a couple years now, and I always make appointments for Joseph Bachman. He is wonderful! In my past visits, he's done balyage, a short cut, and colored my hair back darker to brown, and every time I have loved it! It's been years since I have had a go-to hair stylist. I’ve been going to Salon Aguayo for four years - specifically to see Gary Domasin. Every time, he completely nails it with both the cut and color - I’ve gone lighter and darker, and have done bayalage, tints, and highlights. He’s able to put my “vision” into action every time. Just got my hair done by Miss Katy. She was just so sweet. She listened to what I wanted (or well what @GraceLin wanted) to make sure my hair will be perfect for my wedding day. She was sweet, meticulous, and you can just tell she loves what she does. I had a peaceful 4 hours there. I love the Salon's clean lines without any wires anywhere and the bottles were hidden. I had my first appointment, as a new client, with Alex Garcia and got the best haircut I have had in years! She was recommended to me by a long standing client of many years. I was absolutely delighted and pleased not only by my "new" look but Alex is a real pro--she did exactly what I asked her to do and I could not be happier with the cut. I will be going back to her for color and continued haircuts. Salon Aguayo is also one of the most relaxing salons I have ever been to with a welcoming atmosphere, a no pressure staff and people who care and want to make you look good! I recently switched my hair color/cut from ombre to brown balayage and from side bangs to blunt bangs with Alex. Not only did it come out amazing but it was better than I expected! I asked her to only cut off the "dead ends" and to keep it at a long length. She only trimmed the ends and my hair looked so healthy, I couldn't believe it was my hair. Even with all the bleach and dye, there was no extra damage to my hair, actually it felt better than before. I constantly get compliments on my hair, not just the color but the cut too. I HIGHLY recommend going to Alex for long hair cuts/trims and color. She was very professional and listened to all my concerns before starting my hair project. I'm always amazed how Sid Molina reminds me of what my hair is capable of every time he cuts, dyes, and styles it! I love that he is a visionary and gets me to try new things with my hair. I took my daughter to Karen Spinelli for a short hair cut on the recommendation of one of my friends who always has amazing shorter hair.  Karen did an amazing job.  My daughter's hair is very thick and needs a lot of texturizing.  She nails it!  I have straight long blonde hair and I loved the salon and Karen so much I just went to her myself!  Gorgeous natural color and perfect trim!  The interior design of the salon with it's french doors and beamed ceilings is a pleasure.  And everyone who works there is super nice. Visited this salon for the first time earlier this week, as I followed my usual hair stylist to his new location here.  Booked Marquis for a cut and color, and was not disappointed.  The salon itself is gorgeous, an open, airy, exposed brick loft-style space on the second floor.  All stations were neat and clean, with great natural lighting.  I arrived with a friend, and we were both greeted warmly by the various staff and offered drinks.  There was plenty of space, which was nice because many salons can feel cramped, where you're so close to your next chairmate that you could bump elbows if you move wrong.  Pricing for my cut and color was very reasonable, and they seem to have occasional deals that you can use.  My color process ended up being a bit longer the expected (it's hard going from dark to light!), but service was great throughout.  I'll definitely be back..Oh..parking is a bit tricky.  There's a very small, unmarked driveway to the side that leads to a small rear parking lot, with designated Salon Aguayo spots, or street parking.  The salon give me good directions about this prior to the visit.  The online appt. confirmation system which emails you reminders and directions was also a very nice touch. I've had a wonderful fifteen years with Karen Spinelli as my stylist and friend. She has transformed the texture of my hair, from stiff and dry like hay, to soft and moving. She has taken me through several styles, and each has made me happier than the last. I started going here in January after I met Gary, and I've since dubbed him "The Magician."  He is incredible - he understands exactly what I'm looking for in terms of color, and my hair always looks fabulous. First time here was a couple weeks ago. I hadn't cut my hair in over a year so it was super dry and damaged at the ends. I had bleached ends from my hair being blonde but at the time it was fading from dying it blue. Anthony was super sweet and attentive. He gave me straight bangs and layered my hair in a way that I could keep the length of it decently long. He also re-colored my hair the exact shade I wanted! I've washed it about 6 times and usually by now my hair has already started to fade in the past. The color he used lasts much longer than the special fxs I've been using. This salon is PHENOMENAL in and of itself with an airy, loft-like feel and complimentary mimosas...but the real treasure here is Janine Ker! She's a true ARTIST! I love a pseudo-vintage aesthetic and Janine is SO GIFTED!!!! I guess it tells you something right away when I say that I have gone to Joseph....(the owner) for 38 years!  I was 30 years old when I found him in a beauty shop on Colorado.  I am a decorator....and I recognize artists when I am lucky enough to find them!Joseph is one!  And he surrounds himself with beauty (the chicest and most beautiful beauty shop you will ever see!!);  and he is an artist.  He understands your hair;  your face, your height, your weight......he is a true artist!  I have never asked him to do anything....and I get compliments on my hair 4 times a day...minimum. I have fine, lifeless hair that Sarah Green turns into a head of luscious locks every time I have an appointment. She is an amazing stylist who is able to interpret my rambling thoughts and unattainable pinterest clippings into styles that work for me. I have tried just about everything from shoulder length all over brown to a pixie with a blue ombre and everything in between over the past year and have been in love with every style. I went in for a haircut last week and had a great experience! The salon is very clean and spacious and everyone who helped me was very friendly. My friend tagged along since we had plans afterwards and she was able to sit by me and talk instead of having to wait by the front desk (this was awesome since I'm used to tiny salons that don't have this kind of space). My hair was super long but I didn't have a specific idea of how I wanted to cut it. Katy did a wonderful job and made suggestions without ever being pushy. People have been complimenting my hair all week! I saw pictures of highlights she's done for other people and now I want to go back and have her color my hair! There is free 2 hour street parking.. Not sure how it is on the weekend but there was plenty of space during the week. My girl Alex hooked me up with a great haircut and dye. I did the most stupidest thing and I bleached my hair three times to get a bright green color I came to her in the hopes that she could save me for what I did to myself and she did. I made a mess of my her and she totally salvaged it. I was a completely different person when I walked in there and when I walked out. I've been coming to Sarah Green at Salon Aquayo since I stepped off the plane to move here. I was new in town and she was recommended through the grapevine. Boy did I get lucky!  couldn't be happier! In fact, she gave me my all time favorite hair cut at my last visit. One thing I really enjoy about her is that she is has great suggestions. If you are open to it, you can treat the visit a bit like going to a pre fixe menu restaurant. Sarah can guide the way and tweak cutting edge styles around your personal look.
