I’m not from NM. I found Sacred Arts through a coworker. Shane has since done a handful of tattoos for me in the last couple of years. His studio is unique, comfortable, clean and relaxing. More importantly, I appreciate Shane’s creativity. I send him an idea and he helps me flesh out the final product and placement. I’m always happy when I leave. Where to even begin with how much I love Sacred Arts and how grateful I am to have been recommended to Shane !! I first came to SA for a small tattoo with a couple of my closest friends this Summer and was impressed with the superbly clean environment, the comfort of the studio and above all, Shane's unparalleled artistic talent and technique. My previous pieces have been drawn by the tattoo artist, photo copied on transfer paper, then stenciled with the tattoo gun. Shane free-handed my tattoo with a sharpie and it was absolutely perfect - so impressive!! He took the time to talk with me about exactly how I wanted it to look, aligned it with the shape of my body and ensured I loved the size, design and placement before starting the tattoo. His touch is so light I barely felt the needle and the healing process had ZERO scabbing. I trusted Shane implicitly after this first piece and consulted with him to cover up of two pieces that I have had for over a decade and never really loved. His vision was beyond my wildest dreams and I now am obsessed with the process of transforming my rib piece into something that actually fits my body, follows the natural lines and is meaningful to me. We are 2 sessions into this project and I am loving the process. Shane explains everything along the way from what to expect at each stage of the piece (it is currently WAY darker than the finished product will be, but since I knew this was part of the process I was not surprised) to the details of what he is doing in the moment when you cannot see where he is working. Not many people can make 11 and 9 hour sessions fly by, but Shane most certainly does. I truly cannot say enough about how much I love Sacred Arts and highly recommend anyone looking to add a piece of art or transform an existing piece to consult with Shane! Also, Kelly is a total rock star and coordinates his schedule like a boss!! She has worked me in for full days when cancellations pop-up and is always so personable and kind!! More...

I love that Shane is dedicated to his client. He wasn't checking his phone, people weren't popping in and out all day, and wasn't taking a zillion smoke breaks like every single tattoo artist and shop in town. He included me in every step of the process. He hand drew every piece on my body so that it flowed with my shape instead of placing it somewhere it didn't belong and looked funny later. It's a very quiet and clean spot. He has music and/or Netflix available. I felt very relaxed (as relaxed as you can with needles continuslouly jabbing your skin) and comfortable. Short version: I'd come back here again. That's about the best compliment I can give Shane and his studio. I decided to wait a few months after my last session to write something, mainly to be out of the "new excitement" phase. Shane is both an excellent technician and artist. I gave him some guidance, and set him off to create. 40+ hours later (ink and design time), and I have my first tattoo. No regrets. I love this piece. Everyone who sees it also love it (even those that don't normally like tattoos).As it was my first tattoo experience, it's worth mentioning a few additional things. Shane is very responsive to the individual, both with interaction and with content creation. He creates a very pleasant environment. The studio is organized, hygienic, and just has a good vibe. The tattoo process is nice mix of calm and excitement. We shared plenty of interesting deep-though conversations as well as just chilled to music as he worked. During my tattoo, he had his new apprentice (Fox/Jo) in to observe and learn. It was a real treat to hear Shane explain and teach her the finer points of the art. I went to Shane for my first tattoo and it was an amazing experience. Shane's work space is clean and very comfortable to be in. Through the entire process Shane answered every question I had and I had plenty. You can tell that he cares a lot about his work and that passion makes the tattoo process fun and exciting. Really professional! The artist and his employees are all very nice, enthusiastic and welcoming. The experience felt like they try to make your experience very personalized and customized. Shane was the perfect choice for a cover up tattoo. Each session Shane put his all into his work. His creativity and his attention to detail paid off big, couldn’t be happier with how it came out. Would definitely go to Shane for all my tattoo work in the future. As far as price you get what you pay for, the tattoo I covered up was $100 with no depth or layering. Shane will customize whatever your heart desires and the amount of detail he is capable of doing goes as far as you are willing to pay for the time. Shane Acuff did my fifth tattoo. It was the best experience I've ever had. Most places will take your idea pull up a generic photo on a computer make a copy and stick it on your body. Not Shane!! You give him an idea and he does research and drawings and then he free hands the tattoo on you. It's custom to you and your body. He does a great job of making sure you're doing ok and is always offering a break or a sucker! I highly recommend SA:Design, Art & Tattoo.
