Rose is the absolute best! I found her on Groupon and I'm so thrilled. She owns her own spa, which is a cute little spot on Girard. As soon as you walk in, the salon is super pretty and relaxing. Rose, the owner and esthetician, is so nice and friendly. Before my facial we chatted about my skin concerns and facial history and she told me what her plan for me was.During the facial she told me everything she was doing and what products I could incorporate into my daily routine to help my skin improve. So knowledgeable and talented! She did a facial massage, a few masks and exfoliations, and some extractions. I feel like she removed about 1000 layers of dead skin and I feel amazing! It took me way too long to write this review- almost 2 weeks. I cannot recommend Rosebud Aesthetics enough. I made an appointment one greasy weekend when I was feeling like I had brutalized my face beyond repair all summer. I ride a motorcycle, and during the summer, it's easy to let the conditions inside my helmet & moto gear get a little too grimy: a serious breeding ground for bacteria. The appointment I made was for the end of the week, so I had to get thru my work week with a CVS treatment, which surprisingly did OK. I was wondering if I even needed the professional facial by the end of the week, but I know how much of a pain it could be to find last minute clients to fill cancelations, so I kept with it. I wasn't able to sign up for the Yelp special through the appointment-maker online, so I checked in with Rose a day before the appointment and let her know I wanted to do the Yelp special, since it was my first time, and she said OK no problem, we'll switch the service to that when you arrive. Easy peasy. I arrived in my car because I was running errands all day. Street parking was available on Girard very close- it's far enough away from Frankford & Front that the usual Fishtown parking hell doesn't apply. If you saw the location online & were concerned about parking- don't be. It isn't crazy down that way and it will be worth it.Rose welcomed me inside and offered me some tasty blush wine and let me get comfortable, and the consultation about my skin and skin goals was casual. I filled out a paper form indicating what my needs were and the usual medical stuff, do I have allergies, am I on any medications, what products do I use, etc. Rose reviewed the finished form and said I was doing pretty well with what I use, she had no major objections to any of the products or lines, but if I was looking for anything new, she would be happy to discuss some upgrades that are zero everything- no dyes, no perfumes, no colors- because that's about the only upgrade I could make from the Clinique, IT Cosmetics, PURMinerals skincare &  base makeup I already use. Also- Rose herself has very pale, Irish skin, which is really sensitive, so she caters her skincare and facial services around being SO AWARE and PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED with sensitive skin. Facials can do more damage than good to people with super-sensitive skin or certain conditions, but she is a true pro in working with what your skin offers, instead of against it. If you stay away from facials because of sensitive skin, but you have been wanting to deal with a particular struggle/stressor your face is giving you, I highly recommend a consultation with her. The Yelp facial I received included lots of steam, lymphatic pressure (great for reducing dark under eyes circles) two different kinds of masks, a glycolic if I recall correctly, as well as microdermabrasion, an electronic sparky thing that shocked some blemishes to kill bacteria deep under the skin, and some extractions. I was going for a haircut just after the facial appointment, so she was able to really rub in the oils and treatments she was using all the way up to my hairline and on my neck and the top of my chest. She said that she thinks a facial should extend to your neck and top of your chest, because it's part of what we present to the world with our face, and it should also glow and look amazing. As an active person, athlete, and motorcyclist, I can't agree more. A sports bra can wreak havoc on the pores around the collarbone and top of your ribs. While rubbing the oils and various treatments in, her massage work felt amazing. I can't wait to make an appointment for a back treatment. When I left, my skin was genuinely glowing. I had a haircut later and a party at my house that evening, and everyone said I looked amazing. I told everyone there about Rose and her studio, and recommended they check her out. Rose is entirely real- she will dish her view on the world and it's not the view you'd expect from a cookie-cutter franchise spa, so if you're looking for someone who won't speak their mind or call you out on bad habits, go back to Hand & Stone. Rose is the read deal, and it took all my self-restraint not to invite her over to my party that night. She makes you feel so welcome and like a real friend in such a short span of time. It's been 2 weeks since my facial with Rose, and my skin is still in better shape than it has been for 2 years. But is it too soon to go back? I really can't wait to schedule my next appointment. I had my first lymphatic draining facial today and let me tell you ... super relaxing and it works.  I have lifelong chronic sinus problems so I was skeptical anything would help.  This not only drained everything but it's so relaxing to boot.  Rose uses CBD oil as well as a bevy of cool masks like bergamot and cocoa.  She tells you what each thing is going to do to your face.  It's never looked cleaner!  It's the next morning and I'm still relaxed.  Highly recommend! For starters, I just want to say that I never write reviews unless they are absolutely amazing. I loved my first facial here and I think it's safe to say that I will now be a regular customer here. Rose is so knowledgeable and definitely makes you feel at home. The spa itself is beautiful and ambient inside. It really feels cozy and comfortable. As for the facial, I wish I could give it 10 million stars. Rose took her time and explained everything she was doing. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. After the facial, my skin definitely felt less decongested and extremely smooth. All of her products also smell very nice and you can tell quality products are used. An amazing first time experience. From when I walked in to when my sessions was over, I felt extremely comfortable in the space. Big fan of the dim lights and Biggie Smalls playing in the background. Rose was very thorough and my custom facial left me feeling so fresh and clean! She even added a coconut hair mask to my recently blue colored hair! I had a custom facial with Rose last night, and it was amazing! First, the ambiance is exactly what I like in a spa - it's like a really comfy, pretty bedroom, but with fresh flowers. The music was not elevator music, it was fun hip hop (although Rose asked me my preference). The actual facial was incredible. My skin is especially sensitive right now due to pregnancy, and Rose was able to refine it without making me break out - a huge win. She also did deep extractions, which other facials have not done. She's one of those people who is very clearly in the right line of work, a nurturer of your insides and out. I go to Rose for my facials and she is wonderful! She knows her stuff and I appreciate that she doesn't try to "sell" me products, but works on my skin and I leave glowing (literally! ). I have had massages and spa experiences all over the world and this was the best! After long traveling my sciatica was acting up and Porter's deep tissue massage was the over the top. She was spot on in effectively hitting those pressure points and working it out. If i lived here i would go weekly. Rose's facial was also the best. Absolutely the best experience and facial I've experienced! I bought a groupon and scheduled an appointment with Rosie for a Saturday morning, she was very nice and informative and knows what is doing .
