Roots catered my athletic clubs Spring Semester meeting at VCU. We picked 4 different Mega Bowls for 25 people and added extra chicken to our order. Everything was delivered on time and they were very helpful working with our schools tax exemption information. Adding extra protein was easy and the bowls came with their own serving spoons so we all got to eat the portions that we wanted. Everyone loved the food and there was plenty to take home after! I had Roots cater a large 70 person private event at my company and I was extremely pleased! They were able to easily accommodate the dietary restrictions that some of my guests had and even let me make last minute adjustments the day of the order! The store was easy to get in contact with when I needed to make some changes. We had Roots cater a lunch for about 30 people. Placing the order was very easy and they gave us the option of setting it up for us vs us setting it up ourselves. I’ve had the food before so I knew it would be fresh and delicious and it did not disappoint. Everyone gave the variety of choices a thumbs up and the portions were very generous. I am visiting family from PA while I live in Maryland. I’m a native from here but had yet to try Roots Natural Kitchen. I was even more tentative about my picky eater 7 year old. Needless to say, the fresh choices, made while watching, and delicious choices were fantastic! The employees were super nice and helpful as it was our first time and very patient. My son at all of his bowl and the portion was so big on mine I had leftovers (although I didn’t want to stop it was so good!). Now I will crave this when I return to Maryland but know where I’ll stop next visit! More...

What’s your signature dish?
The El Jefe and the Pesto Caesar are our two most popular bowls! You can't go wrong with 'em, and you can't get enough of 'em. Try a Spread where individuals can build their own Jefe or Pesto Caesar, or try a Mega Bowl and serve it family style!
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
Our chefs designed our menu to, first and foremost, taste great.
From there, we also insisted on keeping our ingredients natural (use mostly stuff that grows), and designing a menu that satisfies anyone's needs - whether that be a 4 year old kid or a 250lb football player. We believe it's this type of food that best fuels us to do whatever it is we're doing in life - competing in sports, writing code, creating art, running a business, or recovering from a late night out.
And lastly - it's all customizable. If your catering to allergen or dietary restrictions, don't fret, we've got ya covered.
What do you love most about your job?
If you ask people at Roots why they like their job, they'll probably mention "the people". We hire good people, we take care of each other, and we hold each other accountable to running great restaurants each day.
Why should our clients choose you?
We work with you directly to make sure your event planning, and event itself feel smooth and simple. We (our catering team of a couple humans) is available by phone and email, and we'll work with you from the start through the end of the event. Our restaurant team and delivery drivers are friendly, timely and organized, and we are hold ourselves to exemplifying that, 100% of the time.

We stay up to date with the CDC and local government agency's guidelines, and promptly adapt to stay in compliance.

This is our buffet option where individuals build their own bowls. There are 3 spreads to choose from depending on how much variety you want!
