I love going to the Riverplex. The Silversneekers program is excellent. The lazy river is fun to walk in doing 45 laps in center of the lane equals 1 mile. I have back in October of last Fall did 78 laps or 1 mile and 3/4 of another. It was the only time that I was able to walk that much because I had developed severe blisters on the bottom of my feet that I had no idea of until I was getting out of the water. From 8:00 -10:00 Monday thru Friday morning in one pool we have a wonderful time playing Water Volleyball with a beachball anyone can join us. Our rules are very lax is just a wonderful, fun way of getting a good workout lot of cardio work. You don't even realize that you are exercising hard, you are just having a good time joking, laughing, hitting a beachball across the net. With the Silversneeker program which is runned by OSF where I check in, they check your blood pressure, pulse, oxygen, and if you're diabetic your blood sugar; then when you're done with your exercising you can check out the same way you checked in. If you are diabetic like I am then they want to make sure that you have something to eat especially if your numbers are not 100 to 120. They will tell you to take 3 or 4 glucose tablets then and eat some thing then test it again in about 15 minutes. My will as of Friday former family Doctor said to follow what they said because they were helping me to keep my blood sugar where it belongs. Everyone member of the staff at the Riverplex is kind, courteous and friendly as well as helpful. It is kept clean and in excellent condition at all times. They have all kinds of classes even a summer day camp for children as well as a kiddy pool which is attached to the lazy river and even a water slide which a child has to be at least 48inches tall to do, even then the parents must keep watch on their own children in the water. They have life guards that walk around and check each pool area every few seconds for safety of us all. More...

The tiles around the jacuzzi need updated, and there's a little too much chlorine in it. Some things don't work like the machine that spins the water out of swimsuits in the locker room. Other than that, there's a lap pool, a warmer therapy pool, the lazy river for the kids with a slide, a steam room, and a dry sauna. More...

Swimming lessons were very very reasonable there but it's too bad when you have children doing swimming lessons that the 2 in water park in the center of the building is not open for them to at least experience. Riverplex/PPD is losing membership there. if the kids have fun they'll want to come back. Plenty of lifeguard standing/and a parent with every child. I can't believe that they couldn't focus on both areas or get someone else can't be that much. One membership should pay for that.... I would have paid for a membership for the kids to play there. There's a great variety of ways to get in shape at all levels. Love the water arthritis classes. I think it would be helpful to have someone give a tour of the workout machines in a little more detail. Love it!

For a public facility this one has exercise machines training swimming Zoomba classes, water zoomba classes and very clean facility. It is rare all of this can a found in a public facility. Costs are much cheaper than Surrounding clubs. I highly recommend. More...
