They are so AWESOME !!! Very professional and they really care about what works for you. The first 2 to 3 weeks was very tough on me at first! The withdrawals were no joke. Crazy how much your body depended so much on carbs and sugar to function. It's like teaching and baby how to walk. But now going on 2 months, I feel like I've reach my goals and more. I really didn't know what to think about this place, I was afraid that they were just a pill dispensary but they really do care deeply about their patients and want to see them succeed in losing weight and staying healthy. The staff is so friendly and they give off a vibe like they really like working there, which is not the case in most dr.'s offices. I can honestly say that it works. I'm 42 lbs down and have just a little more to go. It helps that the staff at Riva's Medical Weight Loss are very friendly and seem to genuinely want their patients success. Also, they listen when you talk about your personal goal or struggles instead of just ushering patients in-n-out without any consideration. When I go to Riva's I feel like more than just another person struggling with their weight. I feel like a teammate on the road to success and I feel like a friend. While they do offer multiple services, they did NOT try to sell me an expensive meal plan or some sort of "snake oil" that promises unrealistic results. I am a patient at Dr. Rivas' Glen Burnie office. As a guy over 50, I've tried pretty much everything to knock off a few pounds. OK, closer to 30. Nothing came even close to working until I went there. You meet with a doctor or other medical professional, discuss your goals and they provide support and direction and can prescribe some medication to help keep you on track. You WILL lose weight because you'll want to eat less. I'm down 13 pounds in a month, and I'm feeling pretty good. More to go, be 13 is pretty amazing for me. Try it. More...

I highly recommend Dr. Rivas and staff for medical weight loss. I’ve safely lost 35 lbs. in the last 7 months. (170 lbs in July 2018, 135 lbs. Feb 2019) The staff provides counseling in nutrition, emotional behavior and overall health assessment at each appointment. They take the time to answer any questions I have and never make you feel rushed. They offer convenient days and hours for appointments, but try to book ahead. I heard about this place a lot and thought why not let's give it a try. At the time September 2017 i was very unhappy with my weight and was getting married in a year. My 1st visit was $200 and i got some pills to take home. Thought wow i just wasted a lot of money for some stupid weight loss pill. After about 2 weeks i had already lost weight and had way more energy. Time went on and i followed there diet plan not only with the pills but on how to eat right and what work outs i should do. I did get a little upset when i thought i would lose all this weight in a couple months but if you ever think you can it wont last. The doctors there even said you didn't put it on in a month so why do you think you can take it off in a month. Making me always remember that and tell everyone else the same on there weight loss diets. Rivas is amazing i always call on my way to work knowing they are not open but its the best time for me to call. And they always call me back and help me the best way. Most of the time i get a appt that same day. 1 year later and i am so happy to let everyone know i look DAM good for my wedding and was the weight i wanted to be 60 pounds lighter. More...
