I bartend at the Hideaway every Friday night and trust me when I say that Rising Star karaoke is by far the best karaoke I've ever bartended for in my career.

I've been singing karaoke at various establishments domestically and abroad over the past 17 years. Kelley Hildebrand's karaoke nights stand out above the rest. She is positive, energetic, efficient, fun and runs a smooth event throughout the night. Kelley makes you feel welcomed and sets the stage for a fun evening. She beings with an introductory performance and, if you're lucky, she'll throw in other performances throughout the night. Kelley is clearly passionate about what she does. Also, the fact that she has her songs available online, so there is no cumbersome process of waiting for and then flipping through a massive binder, is quick and convenient. Additionally, Kelley's technology is quick and smooth, listing the upcoming lineup on the television, so you know when you are up. Kelley throws in dances and group songs, which are a blast and gets many involved, even if they aren't the "spotlight in the solo type." What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Not my first rodeo! I know how to read a crowd, when to lighten up the music, when they’re read to rock out. I get ’em on the dance floor, I coordinate with other vendors so that everyone is on the same page, and to stick to your timeline to keep your event running smoothly.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I’ve always loved singing and entertaining people. I’m thrilled to be able to share my passion with others.
Karaoke lets me shine the spotlight on others, showcasing their talent and entertaining the crowd. DJ’ing lets me be a part of the celebration, providing your favorite songs, getting the crowd on their feet, and just making your event the best party ever. Being in the midst of the fun is what lights me up.
I am an energetic, enthusiastic, passionate host and I love interacting with people to make sure they have a great time! I'm always on my feet and want everyone to remember the events I'm involved with!
What do you love most about your job?
I love when people tell me I helped them forget about their problems, even if just for a few hours. Whether I'm hosting karaoke or DJ'ing an event, seeing people having fun and hearing their positive feedback energizes me! I know what I expect when I go out and I try to provide that to every one of my clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've had a passion for singing and entertaining for as long as I can remember. I sang in every group imaginable throughout school, participated in school productions and was a member of the Baltimore Symphony Chorus. After college, I needed an outlet for singing and found karaoke. I fell in love with the fun, comradery, and entertainment it provided. Through the years I've seen many karaoke hosts and DJ's and was surprised at how many had no energy or, even worse, seemed like they'd rather be somewhere else.
I truly enjoy having a good time and bringing that fun to other people, so when I had the chance to get my own set up, I jumped!
Why should our clients choose you?
I didn't get into the DJ and karaoke business because I needed the money. I did it because I truly have a passion for it! I think that makes a huge difference. I am just as invested in making events memorable as the people who are having the event. I don't want to let anyone down and go above and beyond to make sure everyone has an awesome time. I love what I do and it shows.
