I started as a member at retro fitness in Stroudsburg, PA. I recently moved and tried a different gym (anytime fitness) that was really close to my house but I had a bad experience with them. Because of that, I decided that I would keep my membership with retro and just go to a different location even though the drive is a little far for me. So far I've had an incredible experience with retro fitness in Aston. The staff is very friendly and personable. The facility is clean, and they just started rearranging the equipment to make everything a little easier for its members!I also decided to sign up for personal training with Matt and he has been great so far. He has been gearing my workouts towards things I enjoy doing and kicking my butt with each day (in a good way obviously). He pushes me to better myself and that's exactly what I need. He writes down everything we do so I can do it by myself when I don't have him around. In all, I only have great things to say about the gym as a whole, the staff, and the cleanliness. Love the gym. Matt the GM is super awesome and always willing to help. The trainers are great and very encouraging. Very clean. Mrs. Renita is hands down the best. I worked out here today with a guest pass on a visit to my parents' house in Media. Naturally, I was skeptical of a gym that advertises a reasonable monthly rate because of so many overpriced gyms out there. However, Retro was great in every way. The staff was friendly, the inside was clean and well organized, and most important of all they had everything I needed to complete my usual workout. It's frustrating when I visit one a gym that charges a premium price for membership but is lacking in equipment that I need. We love our new gym. The facility is a great place for my wife and I to workout together. Lots of equipment. Everything is new and the staff works to keep it that way. Been a member now for many weeks and wanted to wait till I've been there a while to write a review. I mainly use the free weights and machines on the first floor. What I enjoy the most is the variety of equipment. Even when the parking lot looks busy, inside not so because this place is so large, I'm never waiting to complete my workout because of having to wait on a certain machine. For a cardio workout, everything you could possibly want is there. Clean!! Seems like someone is always cleaning the machines, exercise area, etc
Staff members are always very friendly and helpful.

Con: I don't take classes but my wife does. While she enjoys many of the classes and instructors, the room has no fans or even an outlet for fans. When the class is large it can get very uncomfortable. Unfortunately this may be a deal breaker for her but I'll continue my membership More...

July is my one year anniversary on joining Retro in Aston. I love the gym and all its equipment. I would like to especially mention the morning employee Anthony. He is very personal and professional in his work. He has a vast knowledge of all the products that they sell at the front desk. He makes it easy for me when I am trying to decide on what shake to get that day. I also would like to compliment your morning employee Courtney. She is a very happy and personal person. I recently had an issue with my billing for my personal trainer. I was billed from the wrong account. After two days of trying to get in contact with the manager and finally speaking to him. He took my correct card information. However he never refunded me the money and took it out of the right account. Brittany from the front desk was VERY helpful during this process. I was in there Monday night because this issue still wasn't resolved. Monday night I was told by Ted that I would hear from the corporate lady who was coming up on Tuesday. I called twice on Tuesday: the first time I called I was told that they were in a meeting and I would hear back. I caked a second time and Brittany answered. She said she would call me back within the half hour with information as to what was going on. During the whole process she had great communication and was very nice. I got a call back from her saying that they were on the line with ABC Financial and working to refund me the money and charge the correct account.

Very long story. But working in customer service myself I feel communication is key in a job like this when there is an issue. I am Thankful for Brittany and how she handled this and help me out!

I love all the people and the staff at Retro, but I was very very upset to see a little boy pick up a chair and was about to hit another child in the daycare. My daughter wasn't even in there but I did intervene as did the worker while the mother stood by and was watching!! It bothered me very much because ALL them young ladies do an awesome job taking care of our children!! If someone gets injuried I don't want them to be responsible for someone else's actions especially while the mother watched!! THE ABSOLUTE BEST! Everyone is incredibly kind and helpful treat you like family! The personal touches make you feel at home and make coming to the gym exciting and adventurous! Retro Fitness is awesome. I love going there. It’s made my recent lifestyle changes very smooth and easier. The giant sink hole needs to be finished and the potholes need to be filled because the parking lot is a challenge, but I take advantage and park far away and walk.

I absolutely love this gym. I love that retro provides childcare and is still affordable offering so much more! I have never put my youngest in childcare and he is 2. 5 I was a little reserved and nervous to leave him even though I was still in the same vicinity. However, as soon as I met Ranita aka RiRi aka grandmom I instantly fell in love and sooo comfortable and haven’t missed a day of the gym since! My son even calls her grandmom she is family since day 1 I never met someone so loving and caring and utterly devoted to caring for these Little’s. I was a member the day this branch opened and after a year I became less enthusiastic about coming. When equipment became broken it stayed broken for a while. The mangers were less than friendly and the place seemed to get a rundown type of feeling after about a year and a half of the gym being opened. So, I left retro and joined a different gym. A year after leaving retro I decided to come back in and check out the place again so I could go to the gym with wife who was still a member. When I walked in I was greeted right away by someone who was not hell bent on trying to sell me a membership but more interested in my fitness goals by going over all of the changes that have been made under new management. I must say I was impressed with the functionality of the equipment, thebcleanliness, and overall vibe as it has changed completely since the last time I was a member. I’ve never been to a gym before and have no idea how to use the equipment so having a trainer is a necessity for someone like me. I had my appointment today with Kevin and he was awesome! He introduced me to a couple of other trainers, showed me how to work the treadmill and worked with me to make sure that I was financially able to afford the trainer program! He explained what I need to do as part of my commitment and on our next appointment is giving me exercises that I can do at home for days that I’m unable to make it to he gym. We’re going to work together, for me, which I think is awesome, to know I have support and someone to help me. I love this gym! I switched from Planet Fitness and, after 10 months, I couldn't be happier. The ambiance is so much more about fitness (compared to PF's tootsie rolls and free pizza days) and there aren't a bunch of televisions everywhere making this the perfect place for people who want a good workout with great machines without the distractions of flashing screens. Also, no huge industrial fans to contend with like at PF. The upper level is great for people (like me!) who prefer not to be too close to the weight lifting area. The movie theater and smoothie bar are both nice. The facility is clean. The staff is also friendly. I must admit that I do miss the 24 hour schedule on the weekends at times, but I've learned to adjust and plan accordingly.
