Rescue Gang Dog Training

I was about to throw in the towel with my pup Carmel and Ryan encouraged I not give up yet and allow him the opportunity to work with my pup. So some "training boot camp" as I call it started to work on her lunging and biting at my other pup Princess Leia, resource guarding, and just overall being a bully began and I started seeing such a difference in her. Have her back home and we still follow our training plan but I have seen such a HUGE change in her behavior. Also, with him not only taking time to explain what he was doing but also showing me so I know how to do it, I've been able to work on making sure my other pup Princess doesn't start being a bully either. Ryan's help, understanding, and commitment to help with my pups issues. Him helping me see I didn't need to give up, I just needed to give a different trainer an opportunity to work their magic. It was a huge eye-opener and one I am so happy he got me to go through with. I love my pups and hated ever feeling like I needed to get rid of one of them and now I look at them playing in awe because before it would've been tense "I need to make sure she doesn't snap" kind of situation. Ryan was patient and understanding with Minks and took the time to be able to get close to him. He explained to me what Minks was doing when he was lunging and growling and took the time going over and over teaching him his options, and how to negotiate with me. Minks, who never lets anyone he doesn't want near him, including a previous trainer who had 8 sessions with him, was in Ryan's lap after 3 hours. His one training session is going to help change my dog into the best he can be and I'm so grateful for him taking the time and not just saying he's angry and nothing can be done. More...

Ryan is a fantastic trainer and does an awesome job teaching both dog and dog parent! Our request for scheduling a training session was responded to promptly, followed by a phone call to discuss the issues we were concerned about with our young whippet mix, Kya.

During the session itself, he was calm and patient with our pup and also with us as we learned/tried out his training methods. One of Kya’s main issues was with overconfidence and aggression toward other dogs and by the end of the session, she was happily playing with her doggo friend without exhibiting bullying-type behaviors. He then sent out a comprehensive email to recap what was taught in the lesson and effectively gave us the tools needed to help our fur baby be the best she can be. We were also able to schedule a separate session with Ryan for a walk to help her learn how to act when encountering other dogs during outdoor exercise.

Hiring Ryan was an awesome experience and totally worth the time and money. We’re so proud of how far Kya has come so far and forever thankful for Ryan’s time and knowledge! Many thanks More...

Ryan is awesome with dogs & people. He came to my house yesterday to help with a dog I rescued in early December. I had another trainer come two times & did not get my issues solved. The problem I was having was the rescue & my ten year old terrier getting along. I was told the rescue was dog aggressive. Have had them separated for months. Ryan had them in the same room both relaxed by the end of his visit. It is going to take e work on my part but I am now happy to know that there is hope that I can keep both dogs & live happy without being stressed out all the time. Ryan is fantastic. He really wants to keep dogs in their homes and help owners succeed by giving them the proper tools and plan tailored to each dogs individual needs. We boarded our dog with him to work through various behaviors including loose leash walking, resource guarding, paw/nail desensitization, and a general obedience overhaul. He was surprised to see how challenging Flynn was but he made huge strides in helping him become more comfortable and correcting overconfidence in learned behaviors that we had perpetuated. We are going to continue training with the program Ryan laid out for us but we’ve already seen a drastic improvement in listening and realizing he doesn’t run things! We highly recommend Ryan and would use him again if needed- in fact we’ll probably be boarding Flynn with him for our next vacation. More...

Ryan is amazing! He came to our house and spent a whole Saturday with Rusty to give us the tools to help him with his resource guarding, biting, excessive barking and leash reactivity. Then, afterwards, wrote up pages and pages of the detailed training plan so we can always reference. It has been 2 months since we started the training and Rusty no longer resource guards or bites. Now, when we are outside, if he sees another dog or person in the distance,he will growl under his breath, get a correction and then want to turn around right away or turn around right away without growling. He still wants nothing to do with other dogs or new people which is okay! We have been able to have a stranger in the house with Rusty on a leash keeping his distance without him freaking out. He used to bark for 10+ minutes. Ryan is the first trainer that actually produced results with Rusty! I know Rusty isn't done with his training but I am amazed by how far he has come with Ryan's help! Ryan is very passionate about dog training. He came to our house for one long session and made sure at the end of that session we had everything we needed to train our dog. I highly recommend him. More...

Ryan has really put his heart, soul and countless hours into helping animals. He came to my house to walk me through separation anxiety training for my dog. This is an issue he's dealt with often, so he had tons of methods that have really helped my dog get comfortable staying home alone. He even went the extra mile, offering to lend us tools while we worked on the training (a crate, thunder buddy, etc). Ryan is excellent! He is devoted to both the owner and the dogs success. He has helped me with my dog twice now. Once adjusting right after adoption and just recently with aggression/fear of new people. He came over and worked with me for hours and then sent and extremely detailed email after to help me remember everything we learned.
