How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
The 1st main consideration is to know whether it is attached to the home or not.
A. If it is attached, then I have never seen a garage that cannot be converted.
B. If detached it will depend on the type foundation that is under the structure. Most likely it will require new foundation to attach to the home.
C. Next consideration is to have a suitable budget to work with.
D. After budget consideration then next is to have plans developed and costing put to it.
E. Next item is how will it flow with the existing floor plan?
F. Consider how it will look with and without the driveway that may be there.
G. If your loosing a garage is there room on the property should you decide to build another?
H. Next to consider how it will be heated/cooled and if current electric service can handle additional load.
There are always other considerations to think about. Basically, it is a good idea because the space is already built, just needs to be finished.

What inspired you to start your own business?
John Angel, the owner of Remodel-Partner Inc., has an extensive background in IL remodeling and as a room addition contractor. He began as a young boy helping in the family business. His dad, now retired, was in residential and light commercial design/build in central Florida! John enjoys helping people and loves his work, the outdoors, boating, bass fishing (password), football, basketball, working out and racing. John resides in Itasca with his wife Kaye, whom is very active in their home IL remodeling - Home Addition - Room Addition business. Together they enjoy life and spending time together with their friends and six wonderful children
