I am so excited to write this review!!  So much more important than rating the latest burger, or appetizer plate, Rebel Health NW gave me a new LEASE ON LIFE AND MY HEALTH! !! I am so grateful beyond words!!!  With the years going by, and not getting much exercise, I started to feel it.  I was making a career change into something sedentary, and thought, "Shit...I better do something...".  The idea of going to a gym both disgusted and terrified me!!!  I find REBEL HEALTH NW webpage. I contemplate for months.  (seriously, I have NO EXPERIENCE with fitness, and I did not want to look like an idiot!).  I finally made contact through the website, and we set up a time to have a conversation.  Janan was able to address all my concerns and questions and immediately put me at ease.  After meeting in person and gaging my fitness level, I was ready.   After 10 sessions I can honestly say, I'm not even the same person I was before I started.  I feel like I"m in better shape than I was in my 20's and 30's!!! Now as I go off on my own, I have custom workouts tailored to me, guaranteed to keep me busy and challenged for awhile!!  We did also discuss things like diet, which I felt I was doing pretty good with.  Those recommendations helped me immensely as well, along with recommendations for REST.    It's not all about GO GO GO GO, it's about the whole big picture.  The yin/yang balance.  Now, maybe you're like me.  You keep thinking about it.....What's it gonna be I say GO FOR IT!!! I just love this space, the practice, and Janan. This is a one-stop-shop for all things regarding health and fitness. Janan is like your best friend that kindly pushes you to be the best version of yourself. She's tough but mixed with understanding, sympathy and support. But don't be fooled, your excuses won't work. That's why I've always had massive results from her! Through her guidance with fitness and nutrition I lost over 40 lbs and felt better than I ever have before! When I moved to Portland, I was well aware of 4 undeniable truths:1.) It rains all the time here. 2.) I'm not as fit as I once was. 3.) I'd be eating a lot of doughnuts and drinking buckets of good coffee. 4.) I needed to find a quality trainer post haste.   Fortunately, I found Janan through a mutual friend, and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. She provides a rare combination of  fitness knowledge, experience and nutritional guidance -- all in the convenice of a private, well-equipped gym. And after an initial consultation, we created an individualized plan to improve strength and overall fitness...as well as combat my not-so-great eating habits.   As a former athlete, I've worked with several top coaches and trainers (and some crappy ones, too). I know what works and what doesn't. Janan is the real deal and I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a trainer who can accommodate a broad range of clients with a sustainable, personal approach to fitness through diet and exercise. After working with Janan for several years, I've realized the most important thing she has done for me is to support and encourage me no matter what phase of fitness and training I've been in. Sometimes I've been more or less consistent, more or less motivated -- but Janan has always kept with me, and given me the kind of workouts I've needed. She takes a long-term, holistic view of training and health which, in the end, is more valuable to me than any short term "program." More...

I love training with Janan. Just the right combination of tough love. She'll push you hard, but also know when you maybe need less tough, and more positive reinforcement. ..especially good for folks dealing with chronic pain. I love Strut Fitness! I have been working out with Janan for several years. I attend the boot camp classes which are held in Woodstock Park during good weather and inside during the winter months. She is an amazing instructor, and always caters the class to meet the needs of her trainees. I won't lie - classes are difficult at first. You will feel tired and sore. Your limits will be pushed. You might even puke (not really - but I came close!). However, as the weeks go by, you really do start to feel stronger and tighter. You get better at the core work. You learn different ways to work out on your own. She also gives great health and food tips as time goes on. I highly recommend giving it a whirl and you will be hooked! More...

Results!  In just ten sessions over about four months Janan had me on a program that shed inches and increased my mobility and overall health.  Now I feel great and I'm cleaning out my closet and down two sizes.Janan really treats the whole person and knows how to meet you where you're at and push you just hard enough. Janan is a great instructor.  She is the right combination of compassionate and tough.  Her studio is in her finished basement it is clean and has a ton of equipment.  With each training session I get nutrition suggestions, a personalized work out, and homework.  After four sessions, my body is already changing!  My "Mom arms" are toned and stomach is starting to become defined.  My only complaint is that I bought a pair of Joe's Jeans at the beginning of the Summer and now they are too big for me!   Make an appointment and see the results for yourself.
