Great selection of low country food. Had the shrimp and grits aand they were awesome. Also had a few appetizers and they were great as well. Did a great job helping us with a large group with small kids. 5 stars isn't enough More...

We visited Lowcountry Bistro on a Saturday evening, and it was surprisingly quiet. There was a wait for many of the other restaurants in the area, but the Bistro was nearly empty. The food was average, and the services was very good. The view from their balcony, overlooking the market, earns Lowcountry Bistro visit. It's a great place to observe the many tourists roaming the area. More...

Great food. Seafood soup was tasty. Turkey and brie sandwich was to die for. Fried okra was perfect. Fish sandwich was lightly breaded on a fresh roll and so good. Will return. Shrimp appetizer was tasty. Service was excellent. More...

Have been here twice at different times. The first time was on a Sunday for brunch and now on a Thursday for lunch. Such good food. Shrimp and grits are with a red sauce, I had a lobster and ham Mac and cheese which is considered a starter plate but it filled me up. Their staff both times have been very nice and the manager went around making sure we were all satisfied. Definitely would recommend. More...

My fiancee and I went on a Saturday morning during Spoleto and Piccolo festivals weekend. When we arrived at about 11, there was plenty of tables. They seated us quickly and the food came quickly as well. The food was delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy with sausage and my fiancee had the apple cinnamon french toast. Both amazing choices. I would highly recommend this place for brunch. More...

Visiting Charleston for our anniversary and this place is a gem! Great service and absolutely delicious food. I had the fried flounder and devoured it like a maniac with no regrets. Get a patio table at night time. There was nice live music outside as well which was great! More...

Love this place! Very good assortment of low country type foods. Meal size is ample and very flavorful. Atmosphere is also very Charlestonian. Moderate prices

We were attending a conference and our dinner cruise got cancelled due to weather. They welcomed our large group with a few hours notice. Then gave us great service. The drinks and food were amazing. I had the swordfish with crab risotto. Both were cooked perfectly. We finished the night with fresh key lime pie. I am from Florida and know key lime pie. This was so fresh and tart. It was the perfect ending to our dinner. More...

Location is beautiful (ask for a patio table). Food was fresh, tasty, and presentably put together. Service was typical of southern hospitality (that is, exceptional). Highly recommend the Fried Okra as an appetizer (you're welcome), and the Chicken & Waffles as entree. If you leave Charleston without going here and ordering those two items - you're doing Charleston wrong! More...

This place was delicious! It was recommended by several locals and we're so glad we listened. We got the crab cake sandwich, crab melt, she crab soup (yes, we love crab), and crawfish fritters. Everything was absolutely delicious and if we ever find ourselves back in Charleston I will without a doubt be coming back. More...

In my top 5 favorite restaurants in Charleston. I love cozy restaurants and this one definitely fit the bill. Perfect ambiance, felt like I was in a quaint home. Food was amazing - the filet on special was the best I’ve had in years. Unique drinks as well. Great service. More...

Our server was super nice but took a little too long to come back to get our order after bringing drinks. The food took a little longer than expected to come out but was very tasty. We were there at the beginning of the lunch rush. Will definitely be back! More...

Good local flavor with specialty plates that change. A bit on the pricey side but very flavorful. We had fried green tomatoes, clams and oysters for appetizers. I wanted the she crab soup and some grits for dinner which is a combination not a special plate. The soup was small but flavorful and the grits were plenty. More...

Our party enjoyed our meal at Lowcountry. We all had different meals and overall everyone was pleased. The standout foods were the crab cakes and the mixer green salad. It's hard to make a salad good enough to review but this one was awesome! It had roasted fennel bulbs, and crispy sweet potato straws. The crab cake was the perfect ratio of cake and crab. The only negative thing we had to say was the wait from the time we placed our orders till we got our food was a hour. The restaurant wasn't overly busy so I can just assume the kitchen was backed up. More...

Great location in the heart of the market district in Charleston. Soups were very good. Good to have on a chilly day after the horse drawn carriage tour.

Wow! This place is a gem. The food is fantastic and the service is great. Started with fried green tomatoes and grits with goat cheese. My wife had swordfish over smoked tomato risotto and I had the shrimp and grits with smoked tomato sauce. Everything was fresh and prepared perfectly. Lowcountry Bistro is now a must every time we come down from New York. More...

We visited during restaurant week, visiting from the north we were looking for some good ol’ southern eats, the lowcountry nailed it. The service was fantastic, even with a large group next to us. Prices were appropriate for both portion size and quality of food. Location was nicely situated near the city market More...

Very nice atmosphere and they have a text your phone option for the seating wait list. The food is always good here, fresh and flavorful. I’ve been here several times as I visit Charleston a couple times a year for work. This visit the service was not quite as good as usual. But still ok. I was a little disappointed with my food. I have been talking up their shrimp and grits to my wife for a year now. So of course we both ordered them. I couldn’t wait for the plate with a couple piles of thick creamy grits topped with a fried green tomato with a tangy slightly spicy tomato sauce over the top ringed by shrimp. Soooo good. But sadly they have changed the way they do it. Now the grits are bit runnier, but still creamy. And the shrimp is on top of the grits, no fried green tomato, and the sauce is on the side and much chunkier than before. Oh and a spoon full or two of the shrimp boil juice dumped on the plate. Not my favorite addition. While the flavor was still good. It just wasn’t the same. More...

Excellent quality food! It tastes like my grandmother made it. Service was excellent, which is what made this a 5 star rating. Our server was very nice and understanding. Great food and even better service. The appetizers and entrees came in large portions, our bottomless Mimosas we truly bottomless (thank you Katie), and the food tasted great! We got there early and we were seated right away. The seating was a little crowded but it is a quaint restaurant in the middle of down town Charleston. Service with a smile must be their motto. We had a great brunch! More...
