Jess was the absolute best trainer we could have found to help with my chocolate lab puppy! She was so patient with me and my puppy. She explained everything and made realistic goals through the process so that both my dog and I could feel successful! I can’t imagine having anyone else! More...

Jessica is great! She stopped by yesterday and discussed the training, puppy, etc and began some of the training. I was really impressed. She really knows what she's doing. Having a puppy is slightly stressful. I'm used to adopting two year old dogs and luckily bypassing all the training, etc. This is the first puppy I've adopted and it's definitely a lot more work than expected. It was much easier dealing with a baby back in the days than the puppy. At least the baby had diapers...I'm always on my feet with the puppy. I still found feeding the baby at all hours of the day and changing the diapers numerous times daily easier than constantly watching every single step the puppy takes, making sure she doesn't pee and poop all of the floor. Either way, she's well worth it. Jessica showed a few good techniques with training and provided very valuable advice. My puppy really liked Jessica too. I purchased six sessions and cannot wait until she returns. It seems so much easier when she's here. Choosing Proud Paws was well worth it. More...

Jessie was recommended to me by a friend and I'm so glad to have connected with her. She takes the time to listen and is very knowledgable about how to work with dogs! In our initial call, she provided some great pointers on what to do and what not to do, along with the reasoning behind her advice. I would highly recommend consulting with her. I'd highly recommend Jessie's services for those in need of a caring trainer! More...

Although we did not get to work with Jessica due to scheduling, she was very responsive and replied to my inquiry quickly. She also was able to recommend us to another trainer. I'm sure she is wonderful to work with. More...

Thank goodness for Jessica!  Our family was struggling a bit with our new Basenji puppy with potty training issues, nipping, and crate training (she HATED her crate and we almost gave up. )  Enter Jessica, and our lives were changed.  Within a few weeks our little pup was happy to chill in her crate, became much more manageable around our young children, and potty training took a complete turn for the better.  She is truly a gifted animal trainer, and it is immediately apparent that she loves what she does and the animals that she works with.  Couldn't recommend her highly enough. Jessica’s positive reinforcement philosophy was exactly what I was looking for in a trainer. She not only was able to train my dog, but was made sure I understood what I was supposed to do and not do in order to enjoy continued success.

Not even sure where to begin. My husband and I adopted a sweet rescue puppy that we both love. Our sweet puppy is perfect in the house and with us,but is so timid with strangers and outside. We tried to put a leash on her and take her for a walk and she was TERRIFIED. She lies down and won't take a step. We were distraught. I went on yelp and luckily found wonderful jessica. She's patient, kind and loving. Every lesson is totally great and my puppy is learning all new things and becoming more confident. Jessica is the only trainer I would let work with my doggie. She's all about positive reinforcement and reward training. My dog and I both adore her! More...

Where do I begin! We first met Jessie when we enrolled ourselves for some dog training at the Pasadena Humane Society. From the first class that we had with her we absolutely LOVED her. There is something about her that dogs just respond to, with a class FULL of puppies she would command the attention of all the pups. Her teaching method is based on positive reinforcement and teaching your dog to make the right decisions on their own. While we loved all the classes we had at The Humane Society we knew we needed some extra attention for our Chocolate Labrador Retriever puppy. We have worked a lot with her at our apartment and refined the skills that we learned in classes and also worked on some of our behavioral issues. Jessie has not only taught us how to train our pup Bodhi she has also made us very in tune with his body language as well as ours. We are constantly getting praise on how "well behaved" our dog is for being so young. Little do they know all the training that was required for him to be the way he is now and that is ALL thanks to Jessie. We would highly recommend her for anyone that has a dog and is looking for a trainer! More...

Im so happy I found Jessie! When I moved to North Hollywood last summer, my year-old miniature dachshunds became fearful of new people, especially in our apartment. They had always been sweet pups, but I worried that this new fear would eventually turn into aggression. The first time Jessie came to our apartment, my dogs barked incessantly for the first hour. They were willing to work for treats, but if Jessie made any sudden movements or raised her voice to a normal volume, the barking started again. Their behavior had gotten so out of control that I was feeling pretty hopeless! Jessie gave me training exercises to start that first week, and came back with a plan the next week. By the end of our second session, both dogs were jumping all over her, giving her kisses, and even letting her hold them. Using the training tips she gave me for introducing my pups to new people in a non-threatening way, I was able to introduce my dogs to new dog walkers and build trust between them within a couple visits.

After Jessie helped us with behavior in the apartment, we moved on to behavior on walks. She brought tons of props (crutches, a stroller, a skateboard, a realistic looking fake dog) she knew my dogs were fearful of, and she even enlisted the help of her friends and family to work on my dogs interacting with strangers on the street. My dogs are definitely still fearful, but now I have the tools to help them be more confident in their interactions with the world around them! The training tips Jessie gave me can be integrated into our daily routine, and we do a bit of training every single day. Just last week, friends came over to the apartment, and were very impressed with how quickly my dogs transitioned from barking to touching their hands with their snouts and eventually to letting them pet them! I’m so glad I found Jessie...her advice and experience have made a world of difference, and my dogs are crazy about her!!

I got my German Shepard, full of excitement, bringing a puppy home to house full of cats. I've always been a 'cat lady' and brought home the pup on impulse. I did not have a clue what I was in for. I was on the brink of calling it quits, and giving her a new home, when I decided to call a couple of trainers. I felt that Jessie was the best fit, as she sounded professional, knowledgeable and friendly over the phone. I was not disappointed. While I was out of control, screaming and yelling at the pup, Jessie taught me the power of positive reinforcement. I call her the dog whisperer, and she laughs graciously when I do, but she is absolutely phenomenal.  I have learned so much in a short span of time. And, by teaching me how to interact with my pup, I have now fallen in love with my big little guy (37lbs at 13 weeks!).  Jessie is calm, and she works at the perfect pace for both the dog and the dog owner. I get weekly summaries from our sessions emailed to me, with details on what we learned and what we must practice. My dog loves her too. More...

Jessica did an amazing job with our chow chow puppy Teddy. Teddy Is our first puppy and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves in to. His play bitting was getting out of control and we were getting close to giving up on him. But Jessica came and took care of business. She showed us how to correct his bad behaviors with out any harsh techniques. It was always positive reinforcement. Teddy's behavior has vastly improved and his aggressive behaviors have diminished. My favorite part had to be the detailed summary of our training session that she would email to us. I learned a lot from her, she is an expert and truly has passion for what she does! I definitely recommend her to everyone! More...

Yeah!  Faith loved her and her treats.  We loved her written reviews of each lesson so we could use them when we practice. We looked forward to every lesson.  She is the BEST! More...
