Marketing is fundamentally about behavioral change. You are trying to convince someone to do something they might not usually do.

A brand strategy clearly defines the market segment and target audience, where your solution is uniquely positioned to meet the emotional and rational needs of the target audience.

The brand strategy focused on your target. Who they are? What are they like? What motivates them?

This is a critically important step, as your messaging needs to be able to motivate your target audience to act.

The brand message is all about you. Why the service or product you provide is able to solve your target's needs? How are you different? Why you and not another solution?

If you've done your homework on the brand strategy this is easier. If not, this can be exceptionally challenging

We now have a target and motivating message, so, now we need to decide how best to deliver our message to the target.

The digital strategy puts all the right game pieces on the board based on what media your target tends to consume most. The remaining services provide the implementation help to bring this strategy to life.

We build for speed. Slow sites bounce and covert poorly. We create a completely custom website for your small business. We don’t mess around with pre-built themes, excessive plugins, or all the other unnecessary bloat that slows pages down. We build your site from scratch, so it's fast, beautifully designed, and just for you.

All websites should be well designed and incredibly functional. This is ethos driving our work when it comes to creating websites. We believe every business needs a website that showcases their brand. No small business should have to choose between design, functionality, or page speed. We believe that any great small business web design company should be able to deliver all three.

Local search engine optimization (SEO) is a powerful technique that can help improve your position on Google and other search engines. SEO drives organic traffic. Organic traffic is free. People search for a term and find you without effort.

The key is finding the right keywords where you can compete successfully. Local search engine optimization is an even more powerful tool due to local listings in Google Maps and Google Local Pack. For our local services, we focus on SEO in NYC.

Robots Care About 3 Things: It is very easy to get lost when talking about SEO services, local or otherwise. However, if you can grasp the basic concepts of what a bot does, it makes it much easier.

When a bot crawls a page, it is interested in determining three things. First, it wants to know what the page is about, so it can properly index it. Second, it is looking to judge the quality of content. Lastly, it judges the credibility or relevance of the source.

There are a lot of complicated algorithms behind making those decisions, but the concept is relatively straight forward. Google is trying to provide the most relevant and reliable information to the user making the query.

There are three types of SEO that every good local SEO company should provide as services. These are on-page SEO, off-page SEO, and technical SEO.

On-page SEO focuses on helping the bot with its first job and second job. It helps the bot understand what the page is about. It also helps the bot assess its quality and relevance. This involves the use of relevant keywords according to SEO best practices. SEO can be performed after the fact, but it is often best to determine your keywords before you create content.

Choosing the right keywords can be challenging. Many think writing about the desired search term, or keyword is enough. Unfortunately, it is not. It requires research into both the content that your audience wants to read and the competitiveness of the keyword, or more likely, key phrase. The biggest mistake people make is attempting to rank for a keyword that’s beyond their reach.

This is where a local SEO service provider can help the most. For example, localized terms, like SEO NYC or SEO New York tend to be less competitive than nonlocalized terms. You might also be able to find local citations, business listings, and other high-quality local links with minimal effort.

Off-page SEO focuses on building up your online presence and authority. It focuses mainly on building links. When a relevant site links to yours, that link acts like an endorsement. In general, the more quality links you have, the more credible your site will be perceived.

While social media may not be a ranking factor, the more presence you have, the more likely someone will link to your site. Therefore, it can have an indirect effect.

Lastly, there is technical SEO. As the name implies, this predominantly focuses on the site code, tags, page speed, and the like.

Most people are familiar with paid search, namely Google Ads. If you have ever searched a term on Google, you've seen them.

The concept behind how they work is simple. Advertisers bid on a certain keyword. The advertiser with the best ad, landing page, and bid "wins" the auction. This ad is placed first. The remainder are ranked in order using the same process.

While the concept is simple, the execution is complicated. Google has a complex and closely guarded algorithm which "runs" the auction. While secret, there are a couple of practices to know:

Targeting: You want your target to be as focused as possible.
Keyword difficulty: You need to find the balance between volume and relevance
Ad Quality: Does the ad specifically address both the target and the keyword
Page Quality: Does the page specifically address the target and keyword

Social Media Advertising
All Social Media Platforms offer some form of advertising. While it also follows the auction and PPC click model, it is different from search in a couple of key ways.

First, social media advertising is not search-driven. Most people don't use social media to search for answers or information. They may ask for advice, but they aren't actively researching a topic.

Second, social is driven by affinity. Affinity is a term meaning how often a given audience is interested in or mentions a given keyword or topic. Therefore, audiences may be very interested in your ad because of the likes or dislikes, but they weren't actively seeking it.

These two fundamental differences impact how these PPC methods are best used to help your small business. The ads and landing pages will likely be different as the user has different needs or are at different stages of readiness to purchase.
