I hired Brittany for a birthday dinner, 6 adults and 2 babies. She was prompt with all of her responses prior to the event, she offered many suggestions after I told her of the guests' food preferences. We listed our desired menu along with substitutions, but also trusted she would prioritize finding us the freshest ingredients. We ended up with a fantastic 4 course dinner, with a couple surprise hors d'oeuvre. Everything tasted refreshing and bright. We purchased our own wine, although she could have recommended someone to cater. Brittany was personable and friendly while she cooked (her multi-tasking was top notch, she also did double duty as our photographer for a few key moments in the evening), she explained the ingredients she chose in her dishes. She got hood strawberries picked from Sauvie Island, and hot damn those were delicious! She thoroughly cleaned up after us (including washing some baby food items that weren't part of her dinner), and even hand washed our dishes after finding out our Airbnb ran out of dishwasher detergent. On May 22, 2019 we had Brittney come cater a private dinner party for my husband's 60th Birthday. Â He had recently caught some yellowtail and she gladly incorporated into our menu. Â The delicious menu from appetizers to dessert was worth the price per person. The fact that she brought fresh items from her own garden was a plus. Â By far the best private dining experience we have had. Â I sat, relaxed and enjoyed my bit of the pampering, along with the ability to visit with our guests (it was a bit of a struggle at times as I am used to doing all of the work). Â Brittney did it all, from prep to clean up (which was great because our flight the next day was at 6am)! Brook, her assistant, was as brilliant as Brittney. Â WE WILL definitely be using Brittany again for special events and private dining. If you ever considered a private experience, the value is worth the cost. Â I had originally opted for a restaurant experience in a private dining room and saved about $800 using Brittney. Â We do not drink and that was a huge savings as well. Â Thank you Brittney! More...

(From Chris) I came to Brittany with a special request: a private meal for two in order to propose to my girlfriend. I even added the unusual caveat that we would be visiting Portland from Austin and would need suggestions on finding the right venue to suit the occasion. Not only did Brittany create one of the most delicious and creative meals we have ever eaten, but she found the perfect space for our evening and went above and beyond with helping set up the room décor so it was absolutely beautiful when we arrived. From beginning to end Brittany was an invaluable tool - especially with narrowing down the right menu from her unbelievably abundant multi-course options. I could not have been any happier with how everything went. The ultimate proof, though, is that it worked: my girlfriend said yes! Brittany Baldwin is a superb Home Chef. She has prepared our meals weekly and catered private parties for us during the past four years.
She sends us a five page menu at the beginning of each week with a wide variety of choices. In addition, she will prepare anything off the menu that tickles your fancy. One of us frequently does that.
Recently, she catered a party for us and that is where she really excels. She worked closely with us to select a menu full of tasty delights. She did all the preparation on site and served the food with elegance, good cheer and in a professional manner. It was a delight to hear our guests rave about the food. Brittany was patient with our indecisions and smoothly executed exactly what was planned. She exudes a calm confidence, much good cheer, treats guests with a pleasant respect and when needed, tries to cater to a guest's unexpected health-related food needs.
If we could, we would give Brittany 10 stars. She is the best and we highly recommend her.

I was travel with a group of 7 gals in the Willamette valley for a girls weekend. Brittany took such wonderful care of us and put together a dream meal for all of us. Planning was easy and her laid back style was just wonderful to deal with. Her cooking was amazing and gave us a chance to relax at home and be spoiled. I hired Brittany to cater a small wedding reception dinner for 6 people (my new husband, my mother, myself, and 3 friends) at a friend's home in Garden Home. From beginning to end, she was a pleasure to work with: her website was beautiful and clear, which gave an accurate idea of available food options, and then, in every correspondence, Brittany was quick to respond with availability, pricing, and other details. While we were at the courthouse, Brittany showed up with plenty of time to spare and started preparing things. By the time we returned home, there were salted marcona almonds waiting for us as a simple appetizer as her delicious filo tartlets finished up. The tartlets were tremendously satisfying: enjoyed as a finger food, served cupped in a wonderfully light and crisp filo exterior with a delicate and savory creamy interior, beautifully gilded with edible flowers. Brittany then plated and served us the remaining three courses at the dining table. First was a beautiful mixed greens salad with fresh ripe berries and a wonderfully creamy and mild goat cheese (which pleased even my mom, who's picky about non-cow cheese and dressings other than ranch). That was followed by tender and juicy lamb chops (ringed with a delicious mint and marcona almond pesto). We ended with a satisfying and light cheesecake tart shingled with ripe stone fruit.Brittany kept an attentive eye on us, helping keep our glasses full and ensuring good pacing between courses. She left the kitchen clean and organized and was a calm and friendly presence throughout the meal. I'm so glad I thought to look around for a home chef as an alternative to dining out after my wedding--it made for a much more memorable, intimate, and stress-free experience than going out.If you're looking for an intimate or classy in-home or catered food experience, I can't imagine a better choice than Brittany. Most restaurants, if you want to go there, you can. With a personal caterer like this, you either have to have the resources to hire her or the good fortune to get invited to an event she's cooking for. The food was delicious and looked good. She smoked the pork herself, and had grown some of the veggies.A dinner for 20 and everything seemed straight out of the kitchen. Which much of it was, and it adds to my appreciation of Brittany's skill to do this in someone else's kitchen The two servers were very smooth, professional and casual. Brittany came to our home for our third "special occasion" evening this past weekend. Â It just keeps getting better and better! She is simply amazing. Â Her food is not only delicious but beautifully presented and served. Â We love hosting dinner parties in our home but it does mean many hours of shopping, prep, etc. shared by my husband and me. Â Every once in a while we spoil ourselves and hire Brittany. Â Her menu offerings are wonderful and basically, she'll prepare virtually anything you can think up. What’s your signature dish?
We cook high end farm to table cuisine. Everything is cooked the day of onsite just before the event. We have our own small farm so often things were picked that morning for the event. Check out our photoblog on the website to see what we're growing and cooking.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We have 12 menus on the website. We can accommodate dietary restrictions and any special requests.
What do you love most about your job?
We love creating long lasting memories by bringing people together around tables of good food. Since we mainly cater small dinner parties focused primarily on Anniversaries and Birthdays we take memory making very seriously.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Chef Brittany grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. She started cooking professionally at age 15 and spent 10 years in professional kitchens and at culinary school before starting her business in 2005. A few years later she added the farm.
Why should our clients choose you?
We offer a step above the usual catering experience bringing nearly 25 years of professional experience and artisan detail to our events. We cook everything onsite, nothing is pre-prepped and trucked over from a main kitchen. We specialize in small, in-home event catering. We cater dinner parties, buffets up to 40 and cocktail parties up to 70. We do not cater weddings.
