The beef short rib, city chicken, and mushroom soup were delicious. Although, a bit too much salt in the chicken noodle soup.

Delicious food. Poor slow service. No bread ever brought to table. No appetizer. No butter. Very slow service for additional beverages. Server had no clue as to who ordered what. All of our food was outstanding. Great place to eat if you are willing to put up with poor service. Eight of us ate in the Little House, which was very nice for our annual Holiday dinner. More...

I'm not a sausage fan so I ordered the short rib and it was amazing. Much better than my expectations. We were invited here as guests by someone and it's not a place that would normally pique but interest but after having the short rib I will definitely return. My kids find the theme very fun. The service was very friendly. More...

Our group's placement in the semi-private back room was ideal. The funeral luncheon was excellent. The food was still warm on the buffet table. The dessert table had a wonderful selection of fruit and pastries. The staff was unobtrusively considerate. We were able to catch up on news and share memories without feeling rushed. More...

My wife and sister-in-law came here from Livonia on a recommendation from my son who ate there while visiting From New York. Â It was wonderful! I ordered the mushroom soup which was fantastic(don't miss it). I ordered the two meat platter, the chicken schnitzel and city chicken, both very good. I had three pierogis with sour cream and a side of cucumbers in cream. The bread was delicious but where was the sausage slices and pickles that everyone else talks about! Cost them a star when the waitress said they don't do that anymore. Others had equally good meals. We got six small jelly doughnuts for a birthday treat which were good. Â After dinner we went over to the adjoining Polish market where I scored three pounds of blood tongue sausage, excellent! My sister in law also bought a beautiful large Polish glass ornament of the nativity scene for 21.00. Â In all it was a great trip and we will be back! More...

In my 48 years I have never eaten Polish food. This Thanksgiving I came to Michigan to spend the holidays with my wife's family and I had the opportunity to try some Polish fare at Polka. The setting was spectacular. I felt like I resting on a field of flowers on a mild spring day. The food was heavenly and plentiful. We are at noon and I was not hungry again for a few days after. It was truly a life altering experience. More...

Had a reunion with about 20 people and the service was great. The food is authentic and very tasty. They have a mandatory 20% tip added which I didn’t like because I believe the customer should make that decision. If the restaurant can’t pay the wages the customers shouldn’t have to cover them More...

Took 15 min to get 2 beers we ordered and took 20min to take our food order, but other then that it was good. More...

We were tired of eating at the same restaurants all the time so we went to yelp and typed in Polish restaurants. OMG!!! We chose This one and we were pleased beyond our wildest dreams. Everything is made from scratch. Nothing is purchased frozen/premade by a food co-packer. Felt like we were eating at grandmas house! The dill pickle soup is to die for AWA pierogies, city chicken, and stuffed cabbage. My husband had A chicken dish that was on special which was fabulous. We highly recommend this restaurant and our server Brianna who was another pleasant addition to our experience at Polka Restaurant. She is a terrific waitress with a very pleasant disposition that added to our already wonderful experience. The decor inside of this restaurant is something you would never expect. They put a lot of money into this building and it's meticulously maintained. We really enjoyed the music, ambience, And of course the food! Go here you will not be disappointed if you like authentic Polish cooking. More...

What a great restaurant! The Polish food tastes like my grandma and mother used to make it. Love it. The restaurant decor is awesome. It makes you feel like you're on a vacation in Europe. Our server was super nice and service was quite fast for how busy they were that evening. My whole family was very happy and we are definitely coming back this time with friends. If you like european food this is the restaurant you must visit. More...

This is my favorite restaurant in Detroit Metropolitan area. I am Polish, so I can attest to its authenticity and originality. All recipes are enhanced, made special, with a gourmet twist.I couldn’t believe when it first opened that Polish Cuisine has now a gourmet version of the old fashioned Polish kitchen that’s very much down to earth, no fancy frills. But the talented cooks managed to pull off a stunt of a first gourmet style Polish restaurant in the heart of Detroit.I’m there for at least a cuppa soup every time I’m driving by. More...
