Phyllis has been taking photographs of our family for many years, and we adore her. Her relaxed approach and incredibly flexible scheduling all fit our large family's needs. We take individual portraits of the 4 kids (now adult kids!), and a family portrait, and Phyllis also manages to capture many candids that show our family in its truest light - these often turn out to be our very favorite photos!! Phyllis works hard to edit the final photos until they are perfect, and her focus on our satisfaction above all else shows her to be the professional she is. Today marks the anniversary of the first time I worked with Phyllis of Phyllis Meredith Photography. We met on a rainy Sunday in Fall for a photo shoot with my family. It was pure magic. I have since worked with Phyllis several times for my business photos as a yoga instructor (my profile picture is Phyllis's work), for art shots and with my kids as individuals. I've worked with Phyllis Meredith a couple of times. Once, we took photographs outside for author photos for one of my book jackets, and another time Phyllis came into my studio to take photographs of me paintings. I was so impressed with how well Phyllis knew her outside surroundings. She knew all the best places to get great shots and she knew at what time the light would hit in certain places. She was also great inside. My studio is small, but luckily, so is Phyllis. She was able to get low or high or squeeze into small spaces to get the best angle and capture the light through the window. Phyllis has a very calm, positive energy and is very easy to work with. She's an amazing photographer who can capture the beauty of her subjects. Phyllis Meredith is an artist through and through. Her photography is an extension of herself. She has an amazing way of making her subject comfortable. She traveled two hours to come to me and take my son's senior photos. The weather was iffy, but she never complained. She was ready to do whatever it took to get the shot. My son is tall and at one point she was climbing up on a railing in order to get the perspective she wanted. I've seen her other work over the years and there is just a magic in what she creates. We met for our photo shoot on a cold and windy day, but Phyllis came with a spirit of adventure and good cheer that was contagious. She rolled with the laughter and tears that come with any amount of time spent in the company of young children, and she engaged us all with stories and snippets of recited poetry. Together we roamed the park grounds, stopping at enchanted moss-covered nooks and bowers. All the while she was working her magic with the camera, capturing poses and candid moments of tenderness. Phyllis is an amazingly talented woman, artist, and photographer. We had a summer session with her in a gorgeous meadow and my children were not really in the mood, but Phyllis' tremendous patience and humor got to them and we left with some GREAT images. Even my shy little girl cam out of her shell and Phyllis captured the very essence of her. We now have wonderful, magical memories to have for the years to come and I am so grateful to Phyllis for creating such gorgeous images. PS Because of this session, I was able to hire Phyllis for several events via various non-profits I have worked for and her ability to submerge herself in a variety of environments is a gift. I've worked with Phyllis a number of times; once to get professional author photos taken for my book jacket and publicity, and another time to have photos taken of me painting in my studio. The first sitting was outside and I was so impressed by how well Phyllis knew the area and just when the light would hit in certain spaces. She was also great inside, moving herself into little nooks to get the perfect angle and capture the light through the window.
