I was happy with the products I chose. A woman had offered to help me and when she started to check me out another woman interrupted her. The second woman was a bit cranky. When she was finished putting my items in a bag the original clerk asked if it was present and added tissue paper and a bow. I work nearby and will go back but only bc of the second woman. I needed to send a bouquet of flowers to my girlfriend who was out of town on her birthday - I called them up while was ALSO traveling, and just crossed my fingers that they'd be able to handle such a last minute request. Over the top fantastic. I threw a party for my recently married son and used Phillip's. From the start of our conversations to the actual event, this florist surpassed every expectation. Our table sizes were different and they created uniqueness at each type but with the common theme. It was gorgeous, smelled gorgeous and days later I'm still getting compliments about how beautiful everything was. Customer service was surpassed, the delivery and pick up crew made my job very easy and the arrangements were over the top fantastic. I purchased a lovely planter from West Elm two days ago. Yesterday, I visited Phillips Flowers of Westmont in search of a large plant for the planter. Unfortunately, I must say that I was sorely disappointed by my experience at the Westmont location. Upon being approached by an employee, I informed her of what I was seeking. She clearly was not attentive, as she proceeded to inform me that if I found a plant, the planter (that it sat in) was included as part of the price. I reiterated that I already had a planter but thanked her. Upon finding a plant, I took it to the counter. There was another salesperson who inquired as to whether I wanted the planter. At that point, I decided that since it came with the plant, I would keep it and perhaps place another plant in it later.The employee who initially informed me that the planters were included in the plant pricing then told me that the cost of the planter was NOT included in the plant's price. I reminded her that she had just told me that the planter was included. She looked at me with a straight face and lied saying that she never told me that. I found this to be profoundly disappointing. Just for the heck of it, I inquired about the price of the planter. She told me that the planter (which had no price noted on it) was $75. This of course would be in addition to the $103.00 for the somewhat unremarkable plant.I would have walked out of the store immediately if this had occurred at any other time. However, because I was inspecting out-of-town guests that evening, I had purchased the West Elm planter to spruce up my home a bit. This was the only shop that I had time to visit prior to returning home. I do not understand why this individual would boldly lie about what she verbalized. Whether I had a planter at home or not should have been inconsequential to her. I will never patronize this shop again and would strongly recommend that you do not due to their dishonest practices.
