Q&As

There are so many things I love about being a dog trainer. Of course, working with dogs is amazing..but working with dedicated dog owners probably tops the cake! It's also such an amazing thing to see the dogs just GET IT. When they understand a new way of living and not having to feel reactive/aggressive anymore. I can go on and on!

The fact that I get to continuously help dog owners achieve happiness and balance in their life with their dogs is my drive. When I got my own personal dog, I realized the difficulties that come with training. Once I started to understand more about behavioral training, I wanted to help as many people as I could. Not to mention, Paw by Paw is actually the meaning of my real name in a sense! Ayumi means step by step in Japanese, so Paw by Paw seemed fitting!

Here's the thing about dog training..it's not ALL fun and happy and endless amount of treats. It's about being able to live our lives with our 4 legged family members while not having to stress about their behaviors!

It's real world training where we can get you out and about with your dog without feeling embarrassed or insecure.
It's being able to walk your dog any time throughout the day without having to hide behind cars, or crossing the street to avoid reactivity.
It's being able to have friends and guests come over your house without your dog jumping all over them.
It's about teaching your puppies & dogs proper behaviors so you can have the freedom to take them to new places.
