Staff was pleasant. Food was delicious. It seemed as though everyone was slightly distracted when police had to be called for an extremely rude patron who decided that they weren't getting the attention they wanted so they threw. ..yes threw a glass on to the ground. (Funny, it was about six days ago... ) I did score four stars because the bathroom could have used some attention (soap, paper towels etc). What a fantastic place to end a long hard work week! We started with some wine and apple cider enjoying the canopy of live oak trees and gentle breeze. While listening to an amazing solo guitar player/ singer, we savored the marinated olive plate. They never pushed us to hurry up and order or eat. We ordered the 850'S CHARLESTON LOW COUNTRY SHRIMP and WAGYU MEATLOAF, both did not disappoint, both served hot and could have easily been shared. Stoped in Saturday evening, what a great experience,Nice evening out doors with a local musician playing some comforting acoustics. We were seated immediately and our server Kevin was awesome, I had the pork tenderloin with a white bean cassoulet, the pork was so tender I could cut it with my fork, the crab cake appetizer was also awesome, the Smokey sauce really helped the richness of the crab cakes, susan had a beautiful salmon on fingerling potatoes. First time. Arrived at 5:30. Date night. The atmosphere is great. A relaxed casual romantic ambience. But, with high class food. The food is the star here. It's original and tasty and visually presented and appealing. The server seemed a bit tired but not as in apathy or anything. He did not fail in anything but I could tell he just wasn't feeling well and I appreciated authentic rather than faking it. I mention this because a few reviews pointed him out negatively and I did not see a match between the bad review and the person. Sometimes personalities don't click, or a misunderstanding occurs. Sometimes an off day comes for real or shallow reasonS. I work with the public and therefore, I give a lot of room for breathing in service industries because the public can be (often is actually) the problem and their behavior, demands and expectations are completely unreasonable and abusive. If you are looking to spend $35 and be served like a queen or king and bark complaints at "the help", you should be at a state dinner in England, not Lakeland in a patio restaurant.Moving on....date had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Servings are huge. It was amazing. I had the wings and a salad. Amazing. The chips and dip app was intoxicating. The red wine concoction was sweet and refreshing. The two friendly non begging, non intrusive cats walking around add to the charm. On the way to the bathroom (the inside is cute), a customer decided to strike up a conversation about how he didn't like the material the tables were made of and he wanted us to be his validation and consensus. His wife, or date, I could tell thought like I did....he either was trying to find a way to inappropriately engage with my beautiful date or because he actually has such a miserable existence that of all the positives and greatness of this place, this is his obsession to the point of stopping strangers on a date on their way to the restroom to talk about.In summary, If you are happy and healthy minded person, I am sure you will enjoy appreciate Patio580 and visit frequently like we intend to. The live music was great and not all overbearing like most places and we were right next to it. If I had to find a complaint it would be the fans are too strong to place tables in front of, and there is a mosquito issue that needs to be dealt with. My review was quite late on this. My wife and I stopped in here on Valentine's Day. They were only excepting reservations. The hostess told us to wait about 10 minutes she would see if she can move some stuff around. Sure enough dude was able to see us and served us a beautiful meal last Minute on such a busy night. Wow! We just happened upon this place while driving around Lakeland. Intrigued by the patio dining, we went in. We were delightfully surprised by not only the casual and lushly green decor but the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Now, for the food. Two of us had the Low Country Shrimp which included a cheesy polenta, whole wheat pancake, and a maple pecan dressing. The layers of flavors were unexpected and impressive. Sooooo delicious. The third in our party had Cobb salad with grilled chicken, she noted how yummy it was. The presentation was nothing short of lovely. This is the one place when I have my special friends visit that I truly enjoy a dining experience that creates a lifetime memory. Loved the ambiance of this little restaurant with a gardenesque feel and also laid back quality. They had a live musician, lights strung up twinkling down at you and a cozy feel. But don't let the small time charm fool you, the food is anything but. To my amazement and delight, the caliber of food was top notch compared to some fancier restaurants I've been to.
