Paper Meets Pearl is a boutique wedding and event planning company located in the heart of Charleston, SC.
Founded in 2018, Paper Meets Pearl was started to help assist couples navigate the often stressful waters of planning a wedding. After planning my own wedding, I noticed a distinct lack in significant resources that can help any couple plan and throw their ideal wedding.

I'm writing from my mother's account, as I do not have one, but Kelly helped me make my wedding day an absolute dream, and my mom would agree! I live in Austin and was relying on my mother (who is based in SC) to help me plan my entire wedding remotely. My mom wanted to bring in someone to assist, she called a handful of wedding planners/coordinators to scope things out. It wasn't even a question of who we were going to hire. Kelly made a fantastic first impression that carried on throughout the entire planning process. I never even visited Charleston beforehand to see/plan anything for the wedding. I arrived the day before my wedding took place and did not feel a teaspoon of stress or anxiety. I can attribute this to Kelly because she was so diligent, organized, communicative and flexible during the entire 6 months prior. I placed my trust completely in her hands and she totally delivered. Kelly dealt so well with my wily crew of friends, family and wedding collaborators. She gave wonderful suggestions that I used for my pre wedding and post wedding gatherings. I am so grateful to her. She was very helpful and suggestive throughout our wedding planning process, putting us in contact with wonderful vendors, and extraordinary people. She was attentive and listened to my vision, while politely giving her input. Any bride can appreciate that!! Kelly was awesome. She wasn't just our "month of" coordinator. She helped me throughout several months leading up to the wedding and provided me with recommendations and advice. She ended up having to come up with a rain plan when we found out a tropical storm was coming just a day before our event and even let me borrow her personal centerpieces from her wedding! The wedding would not have been possible without her. I considered not hiring anyone because we did not have a wedding party and I am not very picky about decor/timing, but now I see how important it is to have a wedding planner. What do you love most about your job?
I love working one-on-one with my couples! Through each step of the wedding planning process, I love showing them how we can make their dream come true without costing an arm and a leg. Taking my client's overall vision and making it a reality is such a gratifying feeling and at the end of the day, I just love seeing them so happy on their wedding day!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I've been an event planner for 3 years and wanted to develop a closer relationship with my clients. Each client is more than just a job. They are a friend and I'm here to guide you through the process so you have a successful and beautiful day!
