I booked a room for my parents visiting from out of town. The service was great-- they couldn't get the coffee maker to work in the room, and the gentleman working the Sat morning shift was kind enough to treat them to a coffee and tea from the coffee bar on the house. I ordered a matcha latte which was way too strong, I would not order it again. The front bar is really nice though and there are lots of well decorated seating areas throughout. They've definitely improved since they first opened. I'd bring my parents back. More...

Essentially no on street parking. Parking garages are several blocks away. The coffee bar in the lobby is a handy place for simple breakfast before heading out in the morning. Our room didn't have a fridge however within minutes upon request someone brought a fridge to our room! The hotel was absolutely adorable so chic and trendy! I didn't give this hotel five stars because the bed was really uncomfortable and the tv was small. Overall the location is amazing! Easy street parking right across the street and 15 to the heart of nyc via subway! Def recommend!! More...

Truly loved our stay here! The space has the feel of an industrial/factory but complemented with warm comfortable furniture and art work. The staff were 100% warm and welcoming and the WiFi really fast. Our room was huge and the walk in shower was perfect along with nice thick towels. TV was a bit small for such a large room. The area is truly industrial but a short 7-8 minute walk took us to so many good bars and restaurants and the subway was similarly close. Shane in the front desk was a terrific resource for where to eat and is a compliment to the hotel. We enjoyed hanging out in the common space on the ground floor with its young energetic clientele bringing the area alive. We will be back! More...

The Paper Factory Hotel was absolutely wonderful. The hotel was clean, the open social areas were terrific since several family members were there from out of town for a wedding and we could just sit and spend time together in the lobby. There was a great cafe there with coffee, good food and good service. The hotel staff was very helpful and very accessible. They helped us get around and very accommodating. We chose to stay at the Paper Factory Hotel because of the good reviews on TA and the convenient location close to the subway station. We stayed there as a family of 4 (kids 6 and 3 years old) and were not disappointed. The room was spacious and up to date, two comfortable beds, shower separate from bathroom. Huge on-wall TV, safe, fridge, coffee maker, everything was there that you could ask for. Even a vending machine on every floor next to the elevator. I prefer this type of hotel to the typical style you would find in Manhattan. But it was our first time in NYC so we cannot compare. The only downside was the lobby area which was still under construction but it looked like it would be opened soon. As we didn’t try the breakfast or other services (bar, snacks etc.) we cannot say anything about that, but it looked like there was a good choice of food and drinks (à la carte, no buffet). The hotel is just around the corner from the station for two subway lines (M+R), so within 20-30 minutes you can be practically anywhere downtown. We would definitely stay there again and recommend this place to anyone that doesn’t mind not staying right in Manhattan. More...

Pretty good.Location: 9/10 near all major subway lines, easy to get to Times Square, museums, etc. It’s in a development area, so there some factories nearby but it’s not really sketchy unless you walk to into the town but safe to and from the subway. Decor: 10/10 there is some construction going on underground for the restaurant but we couldn’t hear it in the lobby ‍♀️Yes there is no restaurant, only a small cafe where you can get a quick breakfast but that’s no biggie, just go and explore the wonderful restaurants NYC has to offer. Bar is open though ;) Beds: linen is that of a 3 star hotel, beds are firm but comfortable, it would go a long way if the hotel invested in mattress toppers to make the beds a plus luxury haven. The front staff is courteous and the effective. The housekeeping staff is also well organized, we had no problems having our room cleaned when we placed the magnet on the door. Vending machines take card. There are drinks and basic snacks, also a shell down the street (4 min walk) I would stay here again next time I visit NYC. More...

I stayed there for three nights - the building is gorgeous and the location ideal. Beyond that, a lot of good things about the place: the staff is LOVELY, from desk hostess to the baristas, everyone was really nice and welcoming. the common areas (once finished) will be spectacular. The little coffee itself has great coffee, bagels and breakfast options. In the room, the bed was extremely comfortable, there was ample storage space and it was incredibly quiet. Now, a couple of elements could be improved to make it really great: the lighting in the rooms (i stayed in a standard king) is truly atrocious, neon lights are never flattering and atmosphere lights are not sufficient. The bathroom, while clean and functional, would deserve a revamp (an upgrade in fittings and a more coherent design - why separate the shower from the rest?). And finally, why so much plastic From plastic cups in the bathroom to mini plastic bottles and more plastic bags in the bins, in this day and age, that is a really outdated approach to the environment. but again, all easy fixes! Stayed a couple nights here and really enjoyed this hotel. Great location close to the R train. Friendly desk staff and the entire place was clean. I had a single room, which was smallish but for one person is just fine, as it's a double or a queen bed. No dresser but there's a closet which hanging space and shelves. Room had two nightstands, reading lamp, desk and chair. I enjoyed the industrial chic as they've kept the concrete walls and floors of the original factory. I didn't have any issues with noise although my room had a constant, soft 'rushing air' noise and I'm not sure if it was from the inside or outside. It served as white noise and I didn't hear anything else, so it worked for me. I'd stay again... But wish they'd ditch the "resort fee" and just make it part of the price. It made me feel like I paid for services I didn't even use but is included in most other places (ie, gym). More...

Went thru tons of reviews looking for hotel to bring daughter and friend to rolling loud at citi life. Wanted to be near if they needed anything even though we live in NJ. Decided on Paper Factory as seemed most fun and reviews. Parking was super easy , paid meter then didn’t but no ticket. Then my daughter states someone else needs to stay. Talk to desk. They totally came thru. Gave us penthouse. Room was great. Girls were ecstatic. Very large with downtown vibe. They went to concert , I went to nyc. Long story short. All cards stolen. Got back to hotel With 10 bucks. Banks closed They helped me find a store that took Apple Pay. Printed out directions for me and then later kept me company while I waited for kids to come back from show. Architecture is beautiful, rooms are clean and everyone I encountered was beyond helpful. A short walk away are tons of restaurants for every appetite. Wished I had just stayed there instead of going to city. Large movie theatre and a wonderful space for theatre named Kaufman. Thank you for making a memorable weekend for us. When they were walking out someone told them about everything that is coming They are begging to go back. Customer service is beyond great. Thank you.
