Pacific Coast Tacos

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is incredible and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is EXCELLENT! I got a grilled shrimp taco and a grilled fish taco and let me tell you..out of this world! I'm not a huge fan of corn tortillas but these were melt in your mouth! The sauce that was on them was excellent as well as the salsa on top. Big portions too, not little street tacos, these suckers were hefty! Excellent, quick, and friendly service. Tacos were great, hubby got the beef and it tasted like it was marinated for hours. ..so good! I got a veggie burrito bowl with fried avocado, which was very good and filling. Queso was smokey and unique, but not as tasty as Torchys...which is hard to beat. They have a hot sauce bar and a Coke Freestyle machine. Restaurant was also very clean! Cool decor with skateboards and surfboards and a nice large bar area and outside seating area overlooking the waterway. This place really surprised me with their seafood burrito each bite had a piece of fish or shrimp in it. The burrito had huge pieces of fish and shrimp through the entire thing! Pleasantly surprised.....PC guacamole is delicious. I also had veggie taco which was delicious. My daughter had twisted rage fries which she really liked. Husband had pulled pork taco which he said was really good. Added bonus was the live music playing during lunch. I waited a long time to try this place and wish I would have earlier. This is not Tex-Mex (so expect something refreshingly different!) Scratch kitchen. Fresh ingredients. Attention to detail. We shared the ceviche tostadas (incredible). Then we each had our own tacos. One of us had bang bang shrimp tacos (he loved them); I went conservative and had the fried shrimp taco. Those corn tortillas are delish. Great service. Such a gem in SugarLand! Their tacos are all different and have such amazing flavor. Love that they use jicama shells to make some of the tacos healthier. You can not go wrong with the bang bang shrimp or the yuca cakes. Only thing I wish would be better and would make this 5 star is if their margaritas/drinks were a little bit bigger for the price you pay. They are unfortunately small! So this is now officially one of favorites "fast food" places in Houston. You order it and pay first and they bring it out to you. Makes for a great place for groups. We have been here twice with groups and every time the food for fantastic across the board. Some got the bowls and the everything fries. They looked amazing a Where else can you get a taco with jicama shell if you have all the crazy allergies like I do AND get killer fries? And amazing drinks.I recommend:The grilled fish or shrimp tacos that come with pineapple salsa with either the corn or jicama shell The jicama will change the flavor ever so slightly to a hint sweeter with compliments the pineapple salsa on top. Big, Clean, great seating inside and out. Large Bar with seating and a great selection. Wow!  Tom Kha soup is my all time favorite and their version is so fresh and a little sweet, with vermicelli rice noodles, lovely big slices of mushroom and tender chicken. It was nearly impossible for me not to pick up the bowl and drink it. Y'all. Yum! Next up is the Pacific style bang bang shrimp taco. This pile of goodness is served on a guilt free jicama taco shell. Of course, the shrimp are fried and the sauce is sweet so I doubt it would meet Keto requirements, however I deem it "Worth It"!! I would come back just for this. The Hawaiian style Poke bowl is back to basics with just the protein packed tuna, white and green onion, and sesame seeds.  So good, so healthy.  Don't worry they also have a more common version with rice, avocado, etc. Last but not least, I ordered the street corn.   It says "two husks" on the menu, so I'm thinking they took the husks and put some prepared street corn cut off the cobs on it. Nope! Two. Whole. Ears. Of. This place is awesome for the lower carb dieters. We went on taco Tuesday because happy hour was all day long. The location is great as it's easy on easy off from US59. The Korean beef and the bahn mi tacos with the jicama tortilla are the bomb! The flavors are super. The jicama adds crunch with out so much guilt. Definitely a weekly go to place for tacos. Delish! The Korean taco was delicious. The beef was tender, the jicama was a nice crunch and the hot sauce was plentiful. The beef taco on a corn tortilla was also delicious . It was also tender and well seasoned. We tried the queso and chips. The queso was Smokey and had pieces of peppers in it. Very tasty. The best was the end. The Vietnamese coffee pop cycle. Yum! Great place for a sweet taco and getting some sun on the patio that overlooks the river.  It's lively at night near the bar but if you're looking for a place to sit and watch the sunset and relax for the evening in a casual place. ..this is it.  I love the veggie taco and grilled shrimp but try them all because they all get two thumbs up for me.  So here is my only problem:  I like their breakfast tacos but they use PINESOL on their floors in the morning and the OVERWHELMING smell makes you want to vomit.  You can't eat because it makes your eyes water.  While I'm thankful for their cleanliness...it's just too much.  Take your tacos to go and wear a mask so your lungs don't become toxic....or go outside and brave the mosquitos because it isn't worth it to try to eat indoors with those fumes!! The tacos were excellent. They had such a variety in tacos and the jicama shells were so interesting and delicious. The aesthetic of the inside is calm and relaxing with a modern beach vibe. Great food & drinks but guys - YA’LL NEED MORE STAFF. So hard to get drinks and food on the patio. Staff that was here (Alejandro) was awesome but it was too busy for 1 bartender!
