We recently celebrated a dear friends and military buddy's birthday at Owen Brennan's. This was my very first visit, and it was okay at best. We were greeted by the host or young lady at the door, as she started to escort us to the room reserved for the event, she stopped about halfway and said 'My god there's a lot of ya'll and my feet hurting from walking back and forth". She pointed us in the direction of the room and said it's right back there. during the event, we had a buffet style service, and almost immediately after the first serving of food was gone, it took nearly forty (40) minutes to get replacements. The birthday boy's wife paid for four (4) course service and people were ready to leave because it took so long to replenish the food. The food was very good however. But Service is what keeps your customers coming back, and we did not receive the service you'd expect form such a fine establishment. May they get better in the future. I'd like to go back someday. We were celebrating a friends birthday and everything was excellent! We reserved one their rooms and had a four (4) course buffet style service. The food was Phenomenal! The wait staff were courteous friendly and very attentive. My only issue was a minor one. My wife asked the same server twice for tea and she never got it, though he said he'd bring it both times. As a native of New Orleans, I enjoy good Creole food. Over the years, Owen Brennan's in Memphis has thrilled and disappointed me. However, I am happy to say our last three visits this year have been THRILLING!!!My wife is hooked on their Redfish Perez and it does taste like my Creole Grandmother might have made it. Usually, I have the Crawfish Etouffee, but tonight I tried their Shrimp & Grits. The Shrimp & Grits was a beautiful plate presentation with a lot going-on. It was good, but just a bit too busy and salty for me.Owen Brennan's is still one of the best options to satisfy my Creole food cravings. Had the brunch got there right at 9am on sunday was empty. Its considered the best brunch in Memphis by some. They don't serve alcohol till 10am so that may be a part of of why it was so empty at first. Shorty who does the omelet station is a hoot! More...

Really good food here! I heard great things about this place and wanted to come check it out. I had the catfish which was really good. It comes with a crawfish sauce. It was good but a bit salty. As sides I had the Gouda Mac and cheese! I loved it! And the Brussel sprouts were really good too! Service was really good our server and greeted at the door were really kind and welcoming. Owen Brennan’s is a special place. Especially for a brunch with family and friends. The omelet bar was spectacular as was the waffle and eggs Benedict bar. The cold table was most definitely lacking. The deviled eggs were not edible. The chicken salad. Can’t even describe it except dry. The salmon and peel em and eat em shrimp were delicious. So were the deserts we tried. The fried chicken was all breading but hard to find any meat. The prime rib was delicious. You can’t have it all together, I guess. But for the price, you would think so. Don't let the shopping plaza location scare you away - this is excellent food! Delicious cajun/creole menu brings the flavors of Louisiana to Memphis. I have eaten here several times as a visitor to the city and every dish has been beautifully prepared and I have never left hungry. Quite the opposite, in fact. Their desserts sound wonderful, but I have yet to pace myself sufficiently to leave room to try one. Maybe next time I will start with dessert - key lime parfait, anyone? More...

I love this place. I always order the chicken salad salad. I wanted to be adventurous today and try the stuffed chicken. It was NOT GOOD. So I just pushed it aside. My waiter saw I hadn't touched it and asked if I had issue with it. I told him the truth and how I always order the salad. He brought out my salad, then didnt charge me for either plate.
