I ask my clients to be masked when we meet. I recently got the Corona from a client who wasn't masked. It took me 17 days to recover and test negative.

We moved from SF to LA with 2 Frenchies. It seems silly, but when they're your fur babies, you want to ensure you have the best people taking care of them.
We interviewed a few other places and were greatly disappointed, worried that we'd never find the right person. [One company even just wanted to use our dogs to promote her own brand and get sponsors for her Instagram. (Gross!)]
But the moment we met Robin, we knew we'd found the perfect person.
She was professional and clearly loved our dogs. She let us know when she arrived (with photos) and then again as proof she'd take a photo when she left. She kept a close eye on them and let us know if they had a cough or even if their noses needed some coco butter. :)
We had her walk our pups 5x per week, an hour each time. Her pricing was very fair compared to other places we looked.
We also had her pet sit at our house. (She stays at your apt as to not change up a dog's schedule too much.) It was wonderful and I never worried about our pups.
I think our dogs ended up loving her more than us. And that's not really the worst thing in the world. She took care of our dogs as if they were family . We only stopped working with her because we moved out of LA (due to COVID).
Simply put, she and her company, are one of a kind.

Kristen, I know I thanked you off-line, but I feel remiss not to shower you with many, many heartfelt thanks here. Gosh, I do miss your fur babies, both with distinct personalities. I should have paid you to play with them. Thanks to all my photogenic fur clients, I've also gotten a ton of DMs on Instagram to be a brand sponsor. And they all go in the trash. I know I would be upset if I saw my dog or cat in an instagram feed along with some promoted product. I do, however, promote my Redbubble (OverandOutOXOX.redbubble.com) fur creations on my @overandoutoxo instagram, using my photos, with my pet parent's full consent of course. My buyers are me because I love the stuff I make and I love my fur clients...and some of my clients buy gifts to send to family and friends. It gives me a fun creative outlet. Before COVID, I traveled all the time for work, often with very little notice, and had struggled to find a reliable and trustworthy pet-sitter for a long time.
Robin changed that: she is truly best in class. She is the only person I feel I can trust with my pet while I'm away.
Why? First off: Robin is *incredibly* thorough, asking things I'd never even thought of before starting her visits and keeping detailed notes on everything imaginable. She is consistent, accountable, responsive and proactive. But most importantly, Robin is a genuine animal lover who truly connects with pets, and they connect with her. My cat is shy (not a surprise; he is a cat), but like most pets, he also tends to be a good judge of human character. He warmed to Robin immediately. It is clear from the photos she takes that he loves having her there when I'm gone, and I feel good knowing he is not just taken care of, but gets to have a friend over while I'm away.
There are a LOT of pet sitters here in LA, but if you're looking for a true professional for the job, it's Robin. So glad to have found her and when I do travel again, she'll be my first call.

When my former dog sitter retired, I was quite lucky to find Robin through enthusiastic online reviews. I was impressed in our first meeting how thorough she was, sensitive to my dog to me and to our home. Robin then got to know my Spaniel Bronwyn over several walks so that by the time I went on a vacation, they knew each other well. Bronwyn can be shy and somewhat anxious but Robin's patience, cheerfulness and warmth created a terrific atmosphere for her here at home to relax and feel safe while I was gone. Robin is an all around wonderful person! Our dog Stashi is a stray from Iran so she doesn't do well around most people but with Robin she absolutely adores her. Some people just have that trait that animals adore and Robin has that trait! We work freelance so our schedules are all over the place and Robin goes out of her way to always make sure she has time to come over and pick up our pup and make sure she's has a nice long walk. She sends tons of amazing photos during the walk and our dog is always happy when she gets home. I wouldn't even consider another person for taking care of our dog. When I lived in LA and traveled all the time, she cat sat for me many times. She thoughtfully sent me great pictures of them - happy - which always eased guilt or concerns.
Fortunately, my cats never had medical issues (that she had to deal with) but I know she is a veteran expert at maintaining medicine schedules, exercise routines and honoring any unique or specific pet owner requests.

What do you love most about your job?
I love when dogs and cats show they're happy. I love when dogs act silly and I love when cats purr. I love being out all day, getting fresh air and sunshine. I have several autoimmune diseases so the work keeps me healthy.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I grew up with dogs and cats. Doggies: there was Heidi, Tebby, and Holly, not all at once. And cats: there was Mimi, Mimila, Mimi again, Maxwell, and Peter, again not all at once. After our black lab, Tebby passed, a stray cat showed up the next day on the front step. I opened the door to get the mail and there he was. He had the exact same markings as Tebby. He meowed once and walked right into the house like he owned the place. He stayed with us until he passed on from diabetes. Dogs and cats were always a joy. I started walking local dogs when I was in high school. I was a dental assistant for a short while and later a web content developer, but then when I from the East Coast to LA-- many years ago--friends asked me to look after their 4 dogs, while they took a six week vacation to New Zealand. Later, I was a post production assistant for a short while, but it was not for me. I was not interested in web content development work, so I turned to dog walking and petsitting.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe in the Golden Rule. I treat your home and pets as I would want my pets (I don't have any) and my home treated. I operate by the Boy Scout rule of leave no trace. I clean up after myself and after your pets. If clients need me at 4am, I will make that happen. I take extensive notes, so my client and I are on the same page. My clients love my photos. They text them a photo of their pet when I arrive, send plenty of photos while I'm there, and they know when I leave. I have tons of happy clients on Thumbtack, so I have plenty of referrals. I'm insured and bonded. I have no employees, so there's no real need for me to be bonded, but I get it for my client's sense of security. I know pet first aid and I have plenty of history looking after old, ailing, and medicated pets.

No. Petsitting and dog walking must take place at the client's home. I don't do boarding at my place.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Well, I have multiple autoimmune diseases, so I'm high risk should I get the virus. I've isolated since 3/4/2020 until 4/21/2021. I got my second vaccine on 3/31/2021. I still take loads of precautions by double masking and using a ton of hand sanitizer. My doctors tell me that I should be fine, but I should mask up and my clients must be fully vaccinated.
Dog Walking

Overnight Petsitting
Clients and people who frequent their home must be fully vaccinated.
12 HR OVERNIGHT PETSITTING......$80 (3 dogwalks) Includes 2 evening walks and 1 morning walk.
I sleep over and care for your dog. If your dog is used to sleeping in your bed, I'll be happy to bunk with him. : D This includes 3 walks, which depends on the health and needs of your dog as well as weather conditions.
Overnights include feeding, clean up, play, taking in mail, watering plants, changing lights on/off, taking out garbage, and unlocking/re-locking gate for the gardener. I generally do not do overnights for just cats, but if that's what you need, I'm happy to be of service. I clean up before I leave so I leave no trace.
VACATION OVERNIGHT PETSITTING
Your home becomes my home base. This means I spend more hours looking after your pet than you could afford to pay.
Includes 12 hr Overnight rate (3 walks)....$80 plus $35 dollars for the rest of the day because I will have other dog walking clients.
So that’s $115 per 24 hours.
But let's say I'm away for 4 hours dog walking other client's dogs, I'm still petsitting your dogs for 20 hours and that works out to $5.75/hr. That’s a great deal.

Your place is looked after, your pets get the best personal care and playtime, and you get frequent updates of photos, videos of your pet(s). I send a lot of photos. : D
Many clients hire me for vacation petsitting. I sleepover at their house or apartment. I bring my own food and I look after their pets.
The pets get a lot of attention because I sit where they sit and I pet them for hours, while we play or watch TV. I walk them. I brush them. I give them treats. They sleep in the bed with me if they're used to sleeping in the bed with my client. My clients love me because they know that weekly clients get a favorable discount. We can always work something out to keep everyone happy.
FREE ONE HOUR CONSULTATION
We can do a FREE one hour consultation, so I can get to know you and your pet and your pet can get to know me. With dogs, we will take the dog for a walk, so I can see how they respond to commands and to other triggers that might be in the area (dogs, cats, bikes, skateboards, and the like).
And if you're already a client and adopt a new pet, we will do another free one hour consultation so I can get to know your new pet and he/she can get to know me.
