I went to Osteria anxious to try their homemade pasta. Sat at the bar and Jasmine brought me some water and took my drink order. The menu here is simple yet unique with items like boar, Cornish hen, and venison. I decided on a caprese salad and the Pappardelle Bolognese and added meatballs. Jasmine brought me some freshly seasoned and baked “pizza” bread from their brick oven…it was delicious. The caprese salad was perfect and the flavors and fresh basil was delightful. Really loved the heavy beef flavors of the Bolognese and the homemade Pappardelle pasta was an excellent complement to the sauce. You knew the pasta was homemade based on the way the sauce easily clinged to the pasta. The meatballs provided a slight flavor clash to the dish and I can see why they are a popular appetizer. This is a classic Italian meal with flavor and texture combinations proving simple dishes can have big bold flavors! Great food, exceptional service from Jasmine, and a nice location. More...
