I NEVER EVER rate a place but felt I needed to in this case. My experience was a very good one. I had a two tier cake and 2 dozen cookies make for my daughters baby sprinkle. The cookies turned out so cute, the cake was adorable and the fondant work was lovely BUT the taste of the cake was AMAZING. Very moist and not over powered with globs of icing. It was amazing. I was asked for the name of the bakery by a very particular friend! Plus when we picked cake and cookies up, we were running late. They did their best to expedite the paying process and even gave us small boxes for my guests to take cake home with them. Very nice people! I'll be using them again! More...

We got our wedding cake from Opulent Cakes and it was beautiful and delicious. Many of our guests wanted to know where our cake came from they liked it so much. We liked all of the flavors we tried at our tasting so it was hard to decide, but we ended up going with the Showcake and the Pina Colada. The cake was decorated beautifully although the scrolling was a bit different than what I wanted. I still loved it though and we got tons of compliments on it. I received a referral from my wedding planner, Krystal Powell, for my wedding cake. Although I was skeptical driving up (curb appeal was not impressive at all), the inside was amazing. The cake tasted fantastic at the tasting session, and they had no problem adjusting my design to fit my needs and budget. I was happy with the result, and they were easy to work with for the most part (limited hours, but they include weekends). Being able to pay by phone was also a huge time saver. I loved having our cake and grooms cake from Opulent Cakes. I wanted an elegant cake with floral which they worked with my flower vendor Joche to match/use the same floral day of, and the grooms cake was out of this world. We had a custom Gundam (think Japanese autobots) head that lit up as the grooms cake that everyone enjoyed seeing. I would highly recommend booking Opulent Cakes for your wedding! We ordered our wedding cake and groom's cake from OC and received so many rave reviews at the wedding from even our toughest cake critics. There are 3 interior layers of frosting, so it is incredibly moist without being too sweet or overwhelming. Our wedding cake was the white chocolate with 2 layers of white chocolate filling and the 1 middle layer of raspberry filling (called their "show cake") and the groom's was the chocolate Kahlua cake - both were above and beyond our expectations. Opulant cakes came through in spades. We picked them the same day as my wife picked her bridal salon. I met them in Arlington, Texas at an wedding fair. Most of the fair was average but they stood out. The cake they served was a white chocolate raspberry conglomeration that was delicious. A white cake, with white chocolate frosting a raspberry puree and grenache. It was delicious. My future wife couldn't be there as she was shopping dresses with my mother and niece so they packed up some cake to go and sent it off with me. We knew we had a winner and when we met with them they continued to impress by offering us a variety of options and then working with us when we chose the same cake we had tried earlier. It was a gorgeous cake, and to my brides gleee they had edible glitter all over the cake. They even worked with our florist to assemble flowers on the cake for the finishing touch. I am also amazed at the number of negative comments! I sat down at the cake testing and was able to "design " my wedding cake. However, I could not have imagined that it would look so beautiful! It was absolutely breathtaking!!!

I have always been impressed with Opulent Cakes and think they are the best around. 3 years ago, I was a bridesmaid in a wedding and went to Opulent cakes with the bride to make a payment on her wedding cake. I was amazed at how polite they were and commented to my friend about the customer service!

My husband went with me on the cake tasting when we were picking out cakes (although I already knew I wanted Opulent) He now refuses to eat cake from anywhere else, and none of the other vendors cake came even close to being as good nor were their tastings as professional. My bridesmaids used them for my bridal shower cake as well, and everyone loved them!! I have also bought simple birthday cakes from them, and never had a problem. I am shocked at the negative comments below. That was not my experience with this establishment AT ALL! They were amazing to me and my (large) family who wanted to do two different tastings. I also completely changed my design of my wedding cake and they never gave me any issues. Not only was the design exactly what I wanted, but the cake itself was AMAZING! We still get compliments on our cake a year later. Our one year anniversary is coming up and I will be contacting them to recreate our cake's top tier since we didn't save the original. I believe Greg is the one who mentioned they do this for couples who had their cake made at Opulent Cakes. I would reccommend this place to anyone! More...

This cake is so good. It doesn't matter if you go with these people or not. Go to them just for the cake tasting alone. It is so good, ask for all the flavors. My cake was an amaretto and then another cake later was a chocolate Kahlua. My husband's cake was a white cake with raspberry filing. He was able to have a free standing 3D model of R2D2. They have sparkling frosting. My husband requested to have the sparkling frosting on his R2D2 so it looks like a metallic finish. I wanted a "Edible arrangements" type of design. There were two things that I knew I had to have without looking at any other vendors. The venue and the cake! We met Opulent Cakes at an event at Noah's Event center and fell in LOVE with it. We have the white chocolate and raspberry two tier cake for the wedding cake along with a couple dozen cupcakes in three different flavors and a chocolate cake with chocolate dipped strawberries for the groom's cake. It was DELICIOUS! The cake is so moist and delicious the decorations (which included real flowers) were beautiful. My favorite was the edible glitter that gave the cake a pearly sheen and the edible pearls that were all around the cake. I had to fight people off to make sure I was able to save a little piece for the anniversary. I will definitely be working with this company again for future events and would recommend them to anyone! The prices were great Less than $500 for everything and it was enough for 60+ people. I tried several cakes at bridal shows, and Opulent Cakes was always above and beyond the best. When my fiance and I went to the cake tasting, he was sold too. I really enjoyed my cake my guests loved it as well my only complaint wasn't a big one but the sash didn't quite match my royal blue that I was looking for. Other than that small issue it was a pleasure working with Greg he took really great care of me and my husband and made my cake idea a reality !!! I can not even begin to tell you all the wonderful things I know about Donna and her shop Opulent Cakes!  First off, let me say, I am a wedding vendor.  I have an insiders view of what goes on in the wedding industry.  And no, Donna did not ask or pay for me to write this review.  She does not even know I am writing it.  I am writing it because I wanted other brides out there to know what kind of a wonderful professional she is.Donna worked for another cake shop for years as a chief baker.  She learned the recipes this cake shop used.  As a matter of fact, this was no ordinary cake shop.  This shop was owned by the niece of one of the most prominent pastry chefs in all of the world.  The opportunity came for Donna to open her shop as the previous owners retired and took new ventures.  I was happy to see Donna have the chance to realize her dream!  I knew she would succeed because I had watched her field many a difficult situation with grace, finess, and tact.  She has empathy, understanding, and and compassion, yet she is a businesswoman.  Donna gets the job done with beauty & wonderful tasting cake!When it came time for our wedding, I was an oder bride, and I knew exactly who I wanted to make our cake for our wedding.  I went straight to Donna.  I did a taste test, not that I needed to, but more to jog my memory.  She was patient with me, and gave me many tips, much like she did for the brides.  She helped offer us some tips I had not even thought of, since I was more of on the bridal salon side of things that ended up saving us a good deal of money.  She did a chocolate fountain for us that included different types of fruit which people loved.  We also did our groom's cake with Donna, and of course our Bride's cake.  They were scrumptious!  We had the amaretto and buttercream bride's cake, and the chocolate groom's cake.  Our family and friends from church loved it so much, that even years later, they still tell us that it was the most delicious cake they have ever eaten!  People ask me where we got it and I am happy to tell them about Donna.  I have used her cakes for a few dinner parties, and a Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter dinner or two.  They make a great Bridal Shower cake and wonderful item if you can't think of what to bring to your new Mother-In-Law's House!  If you are in charge of a Bridal Shower, this is definitely the place where you want to head, after as a Head Maid, you want to please your bride!  :-)  Every time we bring one of Donna's Opulent Cakes someplace, our friends squeal and say, "Oh, it's one of Donna's Opulent Cakes!  You KNOW it's gonna be good!"  It is, of course, and we enjoy the night with fun, friendship, and merriment!  Be sure and take a look at her website and facebook page.  They are incredible!  Then go by for a taste testing.  You will be hooked!!! My experience with Oppulent cakes during the planning process wasnt as connected and enjoyable as was my experience with some of my other vendors, but I selected them because the cakes we tasted were so far superior, not only to any other cakes we tasted, but to any wedding cake Ive ever had in my life. The actual cake that they made for my wedding didnt look exactly like the picture I submitted, or like I felt we had discussed, however, it was beautiful nonetheless-and again, the cake was truly so scrumptious that I cant complain at all about the product. In the late 90's a co-worker of mine got married & oddly enough, I remembered how great her cake was, a moist white cake with a hint of orange and some sort of liquor. 15 years later when I got engaged I asked her if she remembered her cake vendor & she did… A Taste of Europe. I was so excited but then quickly disappointed to find they closed their doors. I notified her of my findings and she sent me a link to Opulent Cakes with the write up of Donna acquiring A Taste of Europe & all their recipes, along with her years of apprenticeship and service with Gisela.

My fiancé & I did a few cake tastings before we found Opulent Cakes and was immediately impressed by Opulent Cake taste compared to others…. not too sweet, good texture, and excellent taste. We really enjoyed the White Chocolate Raspberry filling but we decided on the Orange Grand Marnier (the flavor I remembered from years ago).

So you know the recipe is good if it left enough of an impression after 15 years to select for my own wedding!

They were a little slow to responding at times, but very easy going about returning the cake stand - had 2 weeks, which gave us time to return if after the honeymoon, (most wedding vendors for other products want their stuff the next day so you have to assign someone to drop it off which can be a pain)

I will admit I didn't remember the cake being quite as good wedding night as the tasting, maybe I was too consumed by all the events going on for the night. But I will soon find out as our friends will be using Opulent Cakes for their wedding coming up in March, can I say we are soooo looking forward to eating the cake!!! : ) More...

The cakes at my wedding were amazing. Every one of my wedding guests that I have talked to have mentioned how wonderful the cakes were. My grooms cake was suppose to be chocolate peanut butter but you couldn't really taste the peanut butter at the reception (you could definately taste it when we did our initial cake tasting). The bakery confirmed there was peanut butter in the cake but have made me whole by offering a store credit. I will definately get cakes from them again. More...

I loved Donna and the staff at Opulent from the moment we did our tastings! She presents full cake slices for the tasting, which is so much better than the dry little squares we got other places!

She worked with me on the design of the cake, and the flavor options are amazing! I also love that she doesn't charge more for "upgraded" cake fillings, everything is the same price. We also did a fresh anniversary tier, so we didn't have to pay for more cake than was eaten at the wedding.

Opulent cakes did an incredible job with both of our cakes! They were exactly like we pictured them to be! They were also delicious and moist! We decided to get different flavors for each layer of our cake so we ended up with 5 different flavor combinations from our 2 cakes. I'm sure we could have found a better price, but they were pretty competitive. The biggest selling point for us was the free delivery because our wedding venue was across the street.
