I've always wanted a special cake for my sons birthday and came across this bakery with excellent reviews-they are all true! 5 stars for the convenience, price and taste! I did everything over email. I emailed a pic of exactly what I wanted and they delivered. 50% deposit and paid the rest when it was ready for pick up. Amazing cakes. Allergy best practices I can trust. White cake is spectacular. The cakes are beautiful for adults, but they sure decorated a darling captain marvel cake for my little girl. I've taken the kids in for cupcakes for years because of the true bakery style atmosphere and friendly service. This place did an EXCEPTIONAL job on a cake for my wife!! I was looking for something a little different this year, and in working with their staff, we decided on a Louis Vuitton Purse Cake Design! ! I NEVER write reviews, but I feel like I need to for this bakery. I hosted a baby shower yesterday. I ordered a vanilla cake with strawberry mouse and buttercream icing. It was simply decorated, just like I wanted, but more importantly, IT WAS DELICIOUS! The strawberry mouse made the cake. You could tell it was freshly made with real strawberries. My husband and I we’re married in January of this past year, and starting our wedding planning process I didn’t put much value in our cake. UNTIL I went to Once In a Blue Moon. Our experience with Blue Moon was a GAME CHANGER! For starters, the owner was the one who led our cake tasting and facilitated our entire experience. The whole process felt so personal. Sometimes when you work with a smaller mom/pop shop you’ll a lack of professionalism or timeliness but great service but NOT here. The professionalism was second to none from all our vendors and their responsiveness was impressive.

This is all without mentioning the cake! How good the cake was is STILL the most talked about thing among my family and it’s been 6 months.

We also has unique gluten allergy needs that Blue Moon accommodated. If you are looking for a gluten free cake of any kind, this is your place! When my husband and I went cake tasting here, neither of us could tell the difference between a gluten and gluten free cake.

Pricing wise I would say is more than fair. When we met to design our wedding cake my dream cake was outside the budget that we had set. I was really bummed because I had a vision for a wedding cake and didn’t see how that vision could come true. Between the design team and I we decided to come in again and figure something out. To my great surprise, the owner/designer help me narrow down the crucial pieces that made my dream cake perfect. As I described to her my vision she threw out a cake that was within our budget with the room to add some fun detailing. I decided to trust that team and leave it to the experts. On our WEDDING DAY, our photographer had snuck into our venue before hand and snapped a picture of our wedding cake. The results...unbelievable. The cake that was delivered and created for our wedding day blew every childhood dream OUT OF THE WATER. I could NOT begin to think up a more PERFECT cake!!

Once in a Blue Moon Bakery was the SIMPLEST and most stress-FREE part of our ENTIRE wedding process! Thank you guys so much for making my husband and I feel like the most important and special people.

Side note: We ordered a 3 tier vanilla cake with white butter cream frosting. Each tier has had 3 fillings, homemade chocolate ganache, homemade raspberry ganache (With real raspberry’s), and finally homemade chocolate and raspberry ganache combined. We provided a gluten free option with the same flavors but used sheet cake. Our cake fed 135 people with the perfect amount left over.

I placed an order for my 30th birthday cake with this bakery and everything was perfect from communication, placing the order, payment, pick up, taste, etc. I sent a picture of what I wanted via email and received a quote in less then 24 hours. We got our wedding cake through Once In A Blue Moon Bakery & Cafe, and we have nothing but praise!

First, the cake was absolutely amazing. We had a yellow cake with raspberry mousse and cream cheese frosting. This was a phenomenal cake! It was hard to stop eating!

Second, they were super easy to work with. I have a few unusual allergies, and they were able to easily work around them. They were able to get us in for a tasting in relatively short time. They delivered to our venue with absolutely no issue.

Third, they worked around our needs. We had an idea for what we wanted our wedding cake to look and taste like. We kept encountering bakeries that either had minimums above our actual needs or they had their own ideas for what a wedding cake should be. Once In A Blue Moon Bakery & Cafe made us feel important, heard, and appreciated!

Fourth, they have a service where we can get a small version of our cake made for our one-year anniversary so we don’t have to freeze a slice of our cake. Instead, we get a fresh cake that we already know is amazing!

Although we don’t have another wedding to order a cake, we will definitely be visiting the bakery and cafe in the near future. :) More...

I cannot say enough about this bakery. This graduation cake was pure heaven!!  It was carrot cake and honestly, I've never been a fan but my goodness, this carrot cake was to die for. The entire family is grateful to Once In A Blue Moon for the artistry but more importantly, the love they put into this masterpiece. I was craving something sweet after a delicious meal at Kababish, so stopped in here 30 minutes before closing. The tasting was perfect for me and my husband to try all the flavors- and it was free. We ended up ordering it that same day during our first cake tasting. The cake is so good and they have so many different fillings and icings. Once we ordered and paid for it, we didn't have to worry about anything else. They delivered it on the wedding day and I didn't hear anything else from them. Which seriously took a load off my plate! Ordered a vegan chocolate birthday cake w/ vanilla icing from Once in a Blue Moon and it was absolutely delicious. Very well baked, tasty, great texture, professional touches in the decoration -- my expectations were exceeded! WOW! I had them make a custom cake for an American Horror Story themed birthday party and it was absolutely perfect!The party was for the third season AHS:Coven and I wanted to have a cake to that looked like the black and White House shown throughout the season. I absolutely do not like fondant and in my own personal experience-it had been difficult to find a bakery that would make a non-fondant cake. Side story: I actually contacted another bakery months before who flat out refused to not put fondant on my cake and convinced me to come try the marshmallow fondant that I told them I specifically I did not like. So I set out on a new search and ended up finding once in a blue moon. I contacted them by email and they responded promptly and gave me a quote and size information right away which was very appreciative. After going over the details, I ended up changing the design to a smaller cake from their suggestion and it ended up being the perfect size and very affordable price than my original design. I was appreciative they worked within my budget and still created a very beautiful and impressive cake. On the pick up day-They completely exceeded my expectations! Customer service was excellent, the shop was cute and they had several cakes, cupcakes, and breads to choose from inside. My cake was ready immediately and they showed me how it looked right there to make sure it was everything I wanted. The cake tasted even better. It was not overly sweet  and the cake was moist (I choose amaretto cake with vanilla buttercream filling and icing)This will definitely be my go to cake place from now on. They did a great job with our cupcakes for our wedding! We went in for a tasting and knew we wanted to work with Blue Moon Bakery. Their staff was super friendly and didn’t rush us in deciding. The cupcakes were so good!

I can't even begin to say how ecstatic I am about the piece of art the women at Once In A Blue Moon created.  I called on a Monday to have the cake ready for Saturday and they delivered above and beyond! !  I discussed what flavor and style of cake and asked for a Stranger Things cake that focused on Eleven as my daughter is turning 11. The staff was really excited for this project as they are all fans of the series.  I sent a couple of ideas over and let them have fun with it.  When I came to pick it up and saw the masterpiece, I was completely floored.   If you need a theme cake, go here. I have had several of their cakes for birthdays at work so I decided to order one for my wife's birthday. The online ordering was easy.
