Okra is great spot for Cajun food. Every time I've gone the atmosphere was not the most lively, but the servers are always personable and attentive. Any and all the pasta dishes are amazing. I would even say one of their dishes is my favorite pasta dish of all time.(can't remember the name). Also, the gator bites are a great treat for any adventurous eaters. This review would be 5 stars, but the service was extremely slow (our lunch took prob an hour and a half, waited awhile to be seated, waited awhile for our waiter/bartender to take our order, waited a long time for our food, our wine was never ready to be served, and waited 15-20 mins for dessert to arrive - it was completely melted, but quite tasty), I felt so sorry for the bartender who deserves a raise because he does everything - host, waiter, pulls down the blinds, busboy, etc. including being a bartender (his Bloody Mary is excellent!).The food is very good, the fried okra was excellent, the gumbo was really really delicious! The crawfish etouffee was very fresh and generously sized, Â I would prefer a bit more buttery roux. Bananas foster was great. The only thing that was just ok were the fried oysters, they were not plump/juicy, kind of dried out, but the fried green onions they came with were yummy! More...

I love this restaurant! We live down in Spotsylvania, but come up to Okra whenever we can. We just dined here tonight and as always it was fantastic! We always get the fried okra and gator bites and they were delicious. Tonight for the first time we brought our young son with us. He is autistic and VERY picky about his food. If it doesn't look a certain way, he won't eat it. When I saw the fries were waffle fries, I knew he wouldn't go near it. I put a movie on for him and he relaxed while we ate. At the end of the meal, or server Ha(who is a gem!) asked if the dish was okay. I told her my son was just super picky and that the food was perfectly fine. She took his meal off our check which was totally unexpected but so very appreciated! When we go out with our son it's always a gamble that we'll be paying for food he won't touch, so it was so nice that this restaurant was understanding and wouldn't let us pay for the untouched meal. My husband and I also got dessert. The creme brûlée is always perfect and tonight I had the hummingbird cake and loved it. Service is always quick and friendly and we're never sat waiting for someone to come by. We'll keep making the trip to our favorite Cajun restaurant! Thanks for always exceeding expectations Okra! I went into Okra's this afternoon for lunch and it was amazing. My server "Stephanie" was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Penne New Orleans and it was delicious! I always enjoy coming to Okra's for food. I typically go during a weekday for lunch and it's not usually busy and the people who usually go there tend to be going for business lunches. Just a fair warning, if you're planning to come to Okras, be ready to look for parking as it's pretty hard to come by in Old Town Manassas. My go-to dish is always the Crawfish ettouffee and I have no reason to honestly try any other dish. It's blend of rice and the crawfish mixture make dampen and bring out the flavors as necessary. You can order between 2 different portion sizes (which you can do for a variety of their dishes) which means that you'll never leave hungry. Cajun food isn't necessarily for everybody, but for the people who enjoy it, you won't be disappointed by this restaurant. More...
