Jiyoung is absolutely amazing. She's such a kind hearted, gifted, talented and organized event planner/designer. I'm incredibly impressed by the level of skill, creativity, and care she puts into each item. I requested some Korean decor for my child's birthday, and she delivered so quickly and her designs are so fresh, original, artistic and adorable/beautiful. She was so accessible, responsive, fast and understanding. I had a situation where the doljabi raffle tickets had a mixup-and I took a chance and texted JiYoung late her time after the ones we got were incorrect. She stayed on the phone with me until 12:30 am her time in Illinois-I'm in California on PST. I got the wrong doljabi raffle tickets the night before my baby's dohl party (late Saturday night) and most businesses are not open on Sunday. I had ordered them months ago, and there was a mixup. Until 12:30 am, she stayed on the phone and immediately eased my fears and was so professional, courteous and responsive. She's absolutely amazing. I'm blown away by her gift. If I lived nearby-I would repeatedly utilize her services because she's the best at her craft and is so lovely and personable. You really can't go wrong choosing this wonderful lady to help you with your special event. Just had my baby's first birthday with Ohhappyday Chicago, they did a fantastic job, highly recommended! Our party starts from 11 am, they came at 7 am to start the decoration, they are very detailed, the traditional Korean Doljabi table was our highlight, we got so many compliments about the party from our friends. The MC was good, she arranged everything smoothly and she was very nice as well. We had Joanne managed our whole events, she response very quickly and very flexible for your schedule too. great service!  made planning the doljanchi part of my son's first birthday super convenient. the only draw back was that the return slip was not included in the package as listed on the site. .. I was asked the day before to print it out and shipped by 4pm which put me in a bind because I dont have a working printer and have a busy work schedule.  aside from that, all good and loved how the pictures turned out! I was so happy to find this service because it made it very convenient for me to rent everything for my daughter's first birthday, her dohl. The owner, Jiyoung, was quick to respond to all my questions via text and phone and I appreciated her efficiency with the order confirmation and receipt.  Everything arrived on time, was easy to set up, and pack up to send back.  The dohl rental was really well done and the pictures came out great!  Highly recommend this service to anyone who is looking for a dohl rental! 아공,돌 지난지가 거의 두달이 다 되어가는데 이제서야 후기 올려요
일단 저희는 따로 돌촬영을 안하고 당일날 사진을 예쁘게 찍으려 했기 때문에 돌잔치날 돌상이 제일 중요했어요
그래서 사실 여러업체들에 알아봤었는데 연락 과정중에 제일 꼼꼼하고 세심하게 물어봐주시고 의견주시더라구요
준비하는 동안에도 제가 원하는 컨셉과 결과물이 나올수 있도록 정말 많이 애써주셨어요 그래서 그런지 정말 너무 너무 예쁘게 나왔구요

처음 문의했을 때부터 돌잔치 끝나는 순간까지 친절한 서비스는 물론 적당한 가격에 너무나도 이쁜 렌트 상차림에 대만족이였습니다. 원단, 도자기, 돌잡이 아이템...모두 고급스럽고 부족한 것이 하나 없었네요. 개인적인 취향에 따라 옵션이 여러가지여서 너무 마음에 들었어요. 2단 상차림을 렌트해서 직접 세팅하려고 했던 저의 과도한 의지 때문에 몸은 피곤했지만 마음은 뿌듯했습니다. 둘째때는 꼭 출장 상차림 하는거 기억할께요! ^^ More...

I couldn't be happier with my experience with Oh Happy Day. Joanne helped me create my vision of having a traditional Korean dohl for my second daughter. I loved how seamless the process was -- I was able to choose a color theme from her Nationwide Delivery Service and have it delivered to my door before my daughter's birthday. This was a DIY dream come true!

I'm so glad Oh Happy Day exists for the Koreans here in America who want to celebrate dohl but don't have access to all the traditional decorations and beautiful hanbok attire. I have scoured the Internet for Korean dohl decorations and none can compare to the quality that Oh Happy Day provides. When it came time to prepare for my daughter’s Baek-il (100th Day) celebration, I was a bit lost of what to do! Thankfully, my family found out about Joanne’s service, Oh Happy Day.

Joanne was super easy to communicate with and offered us many different options. After ordering, she continued to keep in touch with us and even delivered the rice cakes as well!

The decorations for the table were modern and adorable! We also rented a dress that was perfect!

We will be continuing to use her services for future celebrations. I am definitely looking forward to plan my daughter’s dohl with Oh Happy Day. More...

My son's 1st birthday was just over and I must say I was so glad and pleased with Joanne's services. I am Chinese and my husband is Korean - she understood I'd have questions. I hired her design services and not only was she professional, she was very prompt with all her responses as well as all finished products. Everyone we invited raved the very cute designs I had on the invitation. She also realized that it was difficult to find Rice Cake displays here and offered her service to me. She solved all my problems especially I was very last minute to hiring her. I have no reservations in recommending her services to anyone that is searching for a professional and down to earth party planner that truly cares about your kid's party! Thank you so much for being a part of our Violet's Doljanchi! We received a lot of compliments on the beautiful decor and Doljabi items. It was a relief to be able to enjoy spending time with our daughter, friends, and family during the party, and not have to worry about the set up or details. Joanne provided all of the necessary items, including the Doljabi explanations, raffle tickets, even a decorated high chair for the cake smash (which I had totally forgotten about until the morning of the party!)

We were able to just tell her our theme/colors, send her some inspo ideas, and she brought the rest to life. I currently live in Central NJ, but I was born and raised in Chicago. I had a difficult time finding services for a Dol (Korean First Birthday) that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I did a search online and Etsy and found Joanne from Oh Happy Day Chicago. I gave her a call, and she definitely put me at ease. She was professional and invested in giving me the best service. She asked detailed questions and made sure that I was well informed. I used her rental service. We confirmed all the details, and a couple of days before my son's birthday, I received a tracking number. I'm so thankful that I used Oh Happy Day's services for my daughter's first birthday party!  Owner Jiyoung was easy to reach, met with me in person, and accommodated extra requests such as a color modification for the table and renting extra items.  On the day of the party I was stunned by the beauty and intricacy of her work, even having looked so closely at the lovely pictures on her website.  Her work will really take your breath away!  Seeing my daughter's pictures displayed on such a pretty photo table was especially touching.  Our guests really loved her little throne and doljabi event- which our daughter enjoyed, too!As busy as the day was, it wouldn't have been possible without Jiyoung's help.  Korean parents in the Chicagoland area are so fortunate to have Oh Happy Day here!  I'm so grateful for the truly happy and beautiful day that we had! I was so thrilled when I found Ohhappyday via Instagram hashtag search when looking for ideas on how to set-up my daughters dohl table. I'm half korean, first generation so I really knew nothing about how to do it, since my mother or I never had a dohl. I knew I wanted a traditional table, not a modern American one so that my daughter can look back and really know that part of her heritage. I had the hardest time finding any of the dol table items for purchase, as there are not many korean imports in America. I couldn't even find a way to purchase from korean sites since I do not speak the language; the items I did find were very expensive to ship. Ohhappyday came to the rescue! Our son's dohl was a photo shoot at our small house, with no party. All we wanted were some nice pictures of our baby at a traditional Korean dohl. It ended up being SO beautiful and ornate thanks to Joanne. The set-up was flat-out amazing. She brought so many intricate decorations, fabrics, and small details that I never would have thought of. She took all the pictures for us, which saved us photographer fees. We did have a couple of mix-ups about pricing and time of arrival, but the end result was better than we could have imagined. Joanne was wonderful to work with! I worked with her for my daughter's 100th Day, and most recently, for my daughter's first birthday. I was so thankful for her services, and that she was able to set up for the birthday party. The set up was gorgeous, and the price for everything was reasonable. Her graphics were amazing, that we have them framed and hanging around our house now! She was even able to rent a hanbok (Korean clothing) that matched my daughter's! I am sad that I won't be able to work with Joanne for awhile now - she is a friendly person who is willing to accommodate your wishes and ideas! We hired Joanne for our child's dohl. She was very professional and the decor she put together was absolutely lovely. She created a photo table, explanation poster of the doljabi, raffle tickets and main dessert / dohl table with photo backdrop. We also used her traditional doljabi set. Everything went super smoothly on the day of, even in the midst of a Chicago snow storm. I couldn't have pictured a nicer setup. She also sent us pictures post event, which was an extra bonus. I found Oh Happy Day on Etsy while trying to plan for my son's 1st birthday. It was overwhelming to plan every detail, but once I found this website it was easy to plan. I had the rental dolsang set sent to my house. It was easy to set up and everything was great quality. Joanne communicated well through text and email. I'm so glad I found this service. We live in an area where there aren't a lot of places to rent the items needed for a dohl. Somehow I stumbled across Ohhappyday and was able to place and order and have it shipped during Xmas time. There was a miscommunication on which banner I wanted but Jiyoung was able to send out the other in time! The table turned out beautiful- couldn't have done it ourselves! My wife and I hired Joanne to help plan our child's one year birthday celebration (Korean "Dol"). Initially we were going to try and plan the event ourselves and I began looking at Instagram for inspiration which is how I found out about Joanne's business, Oh Happy Day. We were really impressed with the pictures from Joanne's past events and decided to send her an email and setup a time to chat. As other's shared Joanne was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to our questions. Her rates vary depending on the time of table setup/planning you are seeking. We decided to meet Joanne at her studio to see the table arrangement, discuss decoration options and logistics after placing a small deposit to secure our event date. We asked Joanne to purchase real flowers for our dol table, purchase our child's hanbok from Korea and create a customized "explanation" paper for our guests. The only issue we had on the day of the event was that on the explanation paper she accidentally misspelled our child's name by including a previous child. She offered a full refund for the explanation paper portion of the fee but when I asked for six copies of a corrected version to share with our family she offered to do it at a prorated cost. Minus the typo of the explanation paper everything during the event went really well. The dol table, doljachi selection area and the photo table looked beautiful. We received a TON of compliments from our guests saying how amazing the setup was. I would definitely recommend Joanne's services if you are looking for a special touch to your celebration. More...

We live in TN and my beloved son just had a very lovely first birthday party in a Korean traditional style, all thanks to their nation-wide delivery service. There would have been no other way to get these Korean traditional items from where we live.  They provided exceptional service, and use excellent communication means - Kakaotalk text, phone call, and email. I couldn't be more pleased to have found, and worked with them as they are very easy to work with and you will have lots of flexibility in terms of what you get.  It is needless to say that all the traditional bowls, objects, clothes, small tables, candles, flowers, and everything else were just perfect and classy. I was even able to customize the color and configuration of tablecloths to my liking. They also graciously provided some freebies such as food imitations, which I needed very much. Everything was delivered to the door. All I had to do is just send money via QuickPay. How convenient.  One more thing that I really liked about them is they delivered the products a couple days before the event, so that we have enough time to set them up and do some practice photoshoot. : ) I very strongly recommend them.
