First visit and the food did not disappoint. Go early because with fresh fish they did run out. Scallops were out and I grabbed the last Halibut. Server recommended a Golden Tile, which was a sweet, mild white fish. We got it with Lemon Thyme Crust and Halibut Mediterranean style. So good. We started with the Crab Cake app and Burrata salad. We stopped in for lunch today sat outside on the patio. I wasn't expecting to be so pleased. The lunch menu is small but there are good choices including Po boys and an amazing open face crab and shrimp sandwich. Even the bread on the sandwich was amazing. The french fries and the fried fish arrived crispy and hot. The sandwich was adorned in Napa cabbage and a pesto. Our waiter, Garrett, knew  the menu, the chef, and Sarasota like the back of his hand. This is a must try for lunch in Gulfgate if you're looking for better than pizza or chinese.And don't forget the crème brûlée. It's infused with Apple Brandy I think. Amazing More...

Wow Fresh!!!!! We’ve been in Florida for 3 years. Walts has been our place to go for sea food and not trying to knock them down. Off The Hook by far is the freshest catch that we have eaten. Menu is small and not over bearing but that’s what you want, if you want well prepared food. We had to wait a little for out appetizers and entrees and well worth it. We had calamari, grouper, triple tail and shrimp/crab cakes. Food is not over seasoned, so you actually get to taste what your eating. If food comes out way to early it’s precooked earlier but not here. Once again, love this place and will be back. We tried Off The Hook for a date night and had an amazing experience. The staff, setting, and food were perfect. We ordered scallops and they were the best we've had so far in Sarasota. We sat outside, and had amazing service from Garrett, who not only recommended the greatest lunch of crab and shrimp cake open-faced sandwich, but also filled us in on the scoop about the restaurant. On a girls trip from out of town and stopped by this gem of a place on a whim. We were looking for a little caffeine pick me up. .. so espresso martinis were on our minds. Garrett went out of his way to walk us down the street to track down some espresso from a local diner as they didn't have any in house. When we got back to Off The Hook he made us one of the BEST espresso martinis we have ever had. Definitely a must try! I don't usually bother with reviews, but felt I should share. First time here. I had a wonderful birthday dinner for 2 with my dad. It included a bottle of wine for $65; one shared app, 2 entrees, and a shared dessert. Brazino was perfectly cooked. Sorry I waited so long to visit will definately return. Food was served hot (a pet peeve of mine) and presentation was wonderful. We even liked the choice of wine glasses used.
