I chose Bodhi to shoot our family photos because he was genuine and professional. He had a plan for the location and shots, which minimized downtime, but he was very open to any ideas we offered. He kept everyone engaged, he got GREAT shots that we absolutely love, and he posted them for review even faster than his committed timeframe. The photos are lovely - his online gallery is just a hint of what he's able to do with a camera. Our entire family - parents, children, and grandchildren - eleven of us in all - are rarely photographed all together at the same time because we have family members who are less than enthusiastic about posed group photos. I am so happy with our family photos!!! I poured over pictures from various photographers before we headed on our family vacation to Oahu. I absolutely loved what I saw on Bodhi's website. I have 3 young children, ages 8, 5, and 2. Let's just say, family pictures can be so stressful with a young family! I couldn't be happier with the shots Bodhi was able to capture. He brought bubbles for my two youngest children, and was able to get some amazing pictures of my 2-year-old. I really struggle getting good pictures of her, and I am overjoyed by the photos I have now! We decided on a sunset backdrop, and I was worried about the time being too late for my kiddos (we live in TX). Bodhi made the whole process fun, and the girls did surprisingly well. I hired Bodhi to photograph our family while we were in Hawaii on vacation. We had a three generation vacation planned and I decided I wanted to document the occasion with fun family photos. I couldn’t be more pleased with my decision and happier with how everything turned out. The pictures turned out beautiful and are a lovely reminder of my family’s time together. Bodhi is a wonderful photographer that we would not hesitate to recommend to any one. I made plans to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancé) in Hawaii and wanted to capture the special moment for our memories. I was initially very worried about selecting a photographer and how the photos would turn out as its a surprise proposal and it’s our first time in Hawaii. Bodhi made me feel so comfortable and was the most perfect photographer. He spent hours on the phone helping me pick a location for my proposal and helping me plan the whole day. His dedication was amazing as he hiked up to Makapu Lighthouse and waited for us to get there and hiked down with us while capturing some amazing photos. Bodhi is so incredibly talented. I booked our session with Lightness photography for my husband and mines' anniversary and because we are leaving Hawaii in fall. We've had professional pictures done before, but I cannot express how much fun this session was. It felt natural. The photos looked candid and natural. They looked like us! First of all, I cannot recommend Lightness Photography enough!!! The photographer Bodhi was amazing and a delight to work with! ! I was planning a vacation to Oahu with my family and decided to add a photo session for our first time. I researched for a couple weeks and kept coming back to Lightness Photography due to the bright and colorful images. I knew this was the company I wanted to work with! I reached out and was responded to immediately. Bodhi was very professional and offered a variety of options and locations to best suit my needs, as I wanted a sunset shoot. The day of the shoot, it was raining (not the pretty rainbow rain) dark, grey and no sign of sun. Bodhi gave me an option to shoot another day, and that’s exactly what we did. I am so happy he was willing to accommodate our shoot with the unpredictable weather conditions. Our shoot was everything and more that we could have asked for! For the first time, my entire family was together, in one of the most beautiful places in the world! We wanted to get professional photos taken to document the vacation. Bodhi did an amazing job! I chose Bodhi after an exhaustive research of several photography companies in the area. Bodhi was very quick to reply to all my questions and worked with us on the scheduling. That is why I chose him over several other options, flexibility and responsiveness. Bodhi chose a location close to the home we rented in Waimanalo Beach. It wasn't one of the beaches that seemed very popular on the travel websites, but the other pictures taken there looked surreal. When we arrived there, we were blown away by the beauty of the beach. If fact, after the shoot, we changed into our swimming suits and spent the entire day there. Bodhi did the photography for our commitment ceremony in February, and it was a pleasure to work with him. All of our pictures came out beautifully, and the post work he did is perfect- not to mention how quickly we received our pictures! Bodhi was absolutely wonderful! When we first starting planning our wedding, my husband's friend was going to take pictures for us. He was a previous photographer and had all the equipment he said he needed. Fast forward to a little over a month before our wedding and he tells us that he can no longer photograph our wedding due to personal issues. Way to stress me out! We had spent our budget and all the photographers we contacted were either booked already or way out of our budget since I had not initially included the cost of a photographer.After endless days of research, for whatever reason Craigslist popped into my head and after a brief search for "Wedding Photographer" Bodhi's ad popped up. I instantly loved his pictures featured on his website and immediately contacted him via text message. He got back to me within 2 hours, thats a miracle in itself when compared to the others I tried to contact. He was available to meet with him pretty much that very same weekend. We met him and liked his attitude and booked him.At our wedding, he arrived early to scope out the place and look for various places to take pictures and got pictures of all the tablescapes and decorations. He was greet with dealing with our guests and our temperamental flower girls since one of them wasn't feeling good, he never got frustrated with her nor us and just went with the flow. After all our formal pictures were taken we asked him to go around and see if any of the guests wanted individual pictures and he did! All of our guests who took advantage of that already told us they want those pictures and they plan to print them out and display them.Our wedding was this past Saturday, the 8th and we already received our pictures (on the following Tuesday, the 11th). That is absolutely amazing turn around and the pictures came out even better than expected. There were tons of formal and candid pictures which we absolutely love and the quality is breathtaking. This was my first time in O'hau with my kids and was looking for a professional photographer to take some sunset and day photos of me and the kids. I came across Ocean Bodhi Photography and was amazed by the work he posted on his site. After reaching out to Bodhi, he was able to take our photos the next day on a two location photo shoot, which I highly recommend! Bodhi is very professional and I am glad that I hired him for the task. Our party is held in a restaurant and have very limited space to take photo with a group of guest, Bodhi did a great job and the photos turn out very nice. We love all the photos he took! The reasons why we chose Bodhi to take our family photos:1. He responded very quickly to our request for a quote (the same with a few other photographers). 2. He was able to fit us in his schedule with only a WEEK notice (the same with a few other photographers).3. His quote was much cheaper compared to $500 from another photographer (who also wanted the $500 up front due to the short notice).4. His website has TONS of family photos on the beach.One of our sons has autism and the other is a wild two-year old. Bodhi was fun, friendly, down-to-earth, and extremely patient with our kids. He was able to get their attention just enough for him to get some "formal" shots, even at 5:30 in the morning. Let me start out by saying, if you're curious about Bodhi's work (that's probably why you're here reading reviews), don't worry. Bodhi is the best photographer I've worked with and that you'll have. He took my pre-wedding photos and also my wedding reception photos. All of them turned out amazing- vibrant, clear, and most of all captured our true selves. My guests cannot stop raving about my pictures. They are just that spectacular! Bodhi is amazing to work with. Very funny, friendly, easy to communicate with, and most important of all - delivers the photos fast!!! Bodhi is the photgropher you want in O'ahu.I recently decided to propose to my girlfriend while on vacation in Hawaii and hired Bodhi to take surprise photographs of the proposal (on a beach on the North Shore) as well as staged pictures during the sunset after we were finished. I live in California, and Bodhi was willing to talk with me on the phone multiple times to recommend specific perfect locations, the best times for sunset pictures, how to best set up the "sneaky" element of the pictures during the proposal, etc. He was beyond accommodating and a joy to work with.
